A new Rasmussen poll found that Blanche Lincoln does not break 39% against any possible Republican opponent. The poll also indicates her vote for health care reform (which has become very unpopular in Arkansas) might be a real cause of her dropping poll numbers.

I don’t think Ellen Malcolm is one of those people. Despite mistakes Emily’s List has made in the past, I think she truly was committed to abortion rights. It’s sad to see her walking away from the rubble before the Democratic Party presses the detonator, but totally understandable.

Nancy Pelosi’s snippy comment about Obama’s campaign promises was a reference to the White House’s demand that the House accept the Senate excise tax. Yet, the White House has not revisited any of the assumptions it has made about the excise tax that seem to be increasingly dubious–such as that it will end up giving workers a raise.
