MA-Sen: We’ve Seen This Movie Before

By: Robert Cruickshank Saturday January 16, 2010 10:00 am

When Mike Stark commented on “the implosion” looming for Democrats as evidenced by the Massachusetts Senate special election next week by suggesting he wouldn’t phonebank for Martha Coakley, there were a number of replies taking issue with his assessment, accusing him of undermining progressives and empowering the far-right.

Hey Charlie, Are You Writing “Idiot America, Volume Two” yet?

By: Peterr Saturday January 16, 2010 9:00 am

Whether he knows it or not, Charlie Pierce probably understands the Prop 8 trial going on in Judge Walker’s courtroom in California better than anyone else. It’s a reprise of Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District, where experts are suspects and idiots are geniuses.

Charlie, are you working on IA, Volume II yet?

By: Phoenix Woman Saturday January 16, 2010 6:45 am

Pull Up A Chair

Late Night: Writing About Politics is Hard

By: Jane Hamsher Friday January 15, 2010 8:01 pm

We hoped Snyder would decide that he should insist on pulling the mandate out of this bill in exchange for his vote. Now that he’s leaving the seat, he’ll most certainly be a “yes” vote, so that actually does nothing to “kill the bill” for those paying close attention.

If Vic Snyder is getting hammered, it isn’t because of a poll. The fault lies much deeper than that. The corrupt PhRMA deal, the insurance company giveaways, their exemption from anti-trust laws — people understand what’s going on, and Democrats across the country are paying a price for it. You’d have to be in serious denial to pretend anything else.
