I hope there's an organization fighting to help felons vote that might be able to help this guy some day.
Dear Right-wingers:
In the wake of the imprisonment of one of your new icons, ACORN pseudo-exposing “douche-a-mentarian,” James O’Keefe by the MAN, for the mere allegation of illegal wiretapping, you have our sympathies — our very amused sympathies. What say you, Freeper denizens?
I agree frame up.
FREE THE NEW ORLEANS 4
I guess we’ll see you at the Free Mumia rallies now, right?

James O’Keefe for RNC Chairman — he has what it takes!
I missed this
Thank God that ACORN was defunded before any of this came to light.
Slow morning – people must be exhausted from yesterday’s ragefest.
ACORN here (Coastal NH) has had to change their name in light of the bald faced lies and rumors. They have done incredible work over the past few years that has been overlooked or disregarded by MSM. It is a crying shame. Knowing some of the ACORN people here I will say that to say they were doing something illegal is laughable at best.
ON the other hand we have been the victims of numerous dirty elections shenanigans by the right wing.
The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana, Jim Letten, is a big time Republican. Odds they walk or get a slap on the wrist for these felonies look pretty good.
Obama, thanks for all the appointments. I guess “with malice toward none, with charity for all” means leaving all of the W hacks in charge of Federal law enforcement, right? ‘Cause there just aren’t any Democrats that are good enough for you, right?
The base increasingly appears to be that rabid moron element that only responds to scatological humor and lies. To play to it is demeaning even to the party of piracy.
You do recall what progressives thought about the worst president ever’s bumping all the functional prosecutors in DoJ? I don’t like it that the executive branch is full of leftover Liberty U product, but am with Pres.O. in not repeating the winger purge of 2001.
Good morning, pups. It’s [sigh] Dowd and Friedman today. MoDo is all excited about “Bringing Sexy Back,” and says President Obama’s Oneness has been one-upped. Everyone in Washington now wants to touch the hem of President-elect Scott Brown. She gives new meaning to the words vapid, insipid and banal. The Moustache of Wisdom, in “Adults Only, Please,” asks are we home alone? If our elites do not behave with a greater sense of the common good, we could find our economy doing a double dip with a back flip. No shit, Sherlock — really?
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got toasted Thomas’ English muffins with your favorite jam. If you’re undecided about jam, try some of the pear preserves. They’re wonderful. There’s a chance that we might actually be able to see blue skies today, unaccustomed as we have been recently. Here’s hoping… Have a great day.
Last July, Landrieu proposed a replacement for William Flanagan, and last week, President Obama nominated that person, Stephanie A. Finley, for the job.
Why Spy on Sen. Mary Landrieu she is on there side in all but name heck If the GOP won back control of the Senate does anyone here doubt she wouldn’t seriously consider switching sides?
ACORN Pimp just killed that though now Mary can’t switch sides without everyone wondering if ACORN Pimp did get something on her.
Any bets her home phone got tampered with too?
Thank you for reading so I don’t have to. Indeed, the furry-lipped pundit has found his way onto the real economists’ wagon and borrowed a bit of truth.
Not quite the right history. Presidents, for a while, have replaced most, if not all USAs after taking office. W purged the ones that were not willing to, figuratively, take an oath loyal to him even after appointing them. It was not the initial removal of USAs that was the problem it was the later purge of those that Rove et al considered disloyal ie honest.
Any bets about whether any of them will see Prison time?
Isn’t that her area of expertise? It is hard to believe that she is the successor to Mary McGrory.
Nelson Mandelas in the making.
And now is she on the long, and ever increasing, list of nominees that Reid has no intention of getting through the Senate?
What you cite is the more offensive event, true, but on coming in to the executive office, Worst also conducted a purge that was really controversial;

Who is backing this guy and supplying the money and brains going into a federal building and knowing which wire to tap let alone how to tap phone lines does not sound like any expertise a film maker or a ex U.S attorney’s son would have.
Someone taught them, someone gave them plans for the Federal Building, someone got them uniforms.
The right wing branch of government has a long history of tapping phones and many an expert in that field. Though why they felt the need to tap the phone instead of “borrowing” the government taps is beyond me. Does tis mean that they no longer have an “in” at Justice?
We need these guys to talk let me suggest a strategy After being busted for pot I was held in the cell block with all the convicted waiting to go to prison guys or felony charged waiting to get tried guys because of a shortage of space my older bigger friends got the not so dangerous cell block rooms.
Why they wanted me to talk. Why is a cell block with already convicted people dangerous? Because they already know they are going to Prison there is not much County Jail can do to them.
Put the ACORN Pimp in there I’m sure the guards won’t tell the African American Prisoners just who these guys are/s
I think the ACORN Pimp is not with Karl’s crew but rather some rich GOPer’s crew that does not have the Justice Dept in.
I think the GOP is more disorganized than we think. Again who is backing this dork?
Busted! Pot! My gosh you are a hardened criminal. The chances of these bozos getting anything more than a slap on the wrist is between zero and none. They are darlings of the right wing and as such can plea that they only did it for
AmericaThe Homeland. The Dai person seems to be the one with the expertise to do the tapping…..no linky available (sorry); just based on several things I’ve been reading on-line (which may or may not be true). As for the uniforms, apparently anyone can buy anything on-line in this day and time.
Got an even easier rational than that for you….they wus set up by obama!
There a a number of very rich and very crazy people that think they know better what is good for The Homeland. Remember it was the very rich bushies, in 1933, who thought a coup would be good for America. Rich crazies are plentiful I fear.
Nah, Oh Bummah! has an “in” at the DOJ, remember Holder is still nominally in charge.
Who introduced Dai to ACORN Pimp?
I would like to find out which GOP Crazy is making these moves.
Live Free or Dai
Those rich crazies combined with the religious Whack jobs are a really scary bunch.
If taping the Phones of a U.S Senator gets you less time than a Pot Charge arrrgh! @#$%%~!
Good morning.
Kiriakou made it all up. CIA dirty trick. Anyone surprised? Thought not.
Nice catch, nom. Good profile on one of the little buggers.
Bet Darth told him to make it up but on the bright side Darth should be off the tv for a while. That alone makes this the best news of the day:)
No surprise damnit but I am getting more and more pissed with the right wing being allowed to get away with such shit.
What makes you think it’s only the right wing that does that shit? A lot of it is freelance CIA stuff that is done to hide or rationalize their own illegals activities without any prodding from above. As for the rest, right, center & left all do it; may be a matter of degree, but how could we tell?
I guess Obama is to blame for global warming too, huh? When did progressives turn into whining little snot noses? Oh yeah, right after McCain and Palin lost. Like the moment after…
Mods,
It sez this on the upper right on this page. Think it should be 2010, not 2020.
Has the CIA ever backed a Lefty or Moderate over a Conservative? I will grant you I’m sure our side has tapped phones.
But this job has a freelance and Amatuer stink to it. Notice no fake i.ds in case they got caught.
C’mon they are clearly developing a LONG-TERM plan! ;-)
Not talking about who the CIA backs, talking about who in the U.S. uses them to spy or performa dirty tricks. Both Rs & Ds do that.
That was my first thought. :-)
But then I remembered that Jane is of a more pragmatic bent.
True
I’m shocked, I tell you I’m shocked!
Experience teaches that their seems to be a rule in the Constitution that says GOP white rich get prisons where the wall is a foot tall bush and the out of bounds markers on the tennis courts.
I believe these “kids” were bailed out immediately – despite the 10 year sentence hanging over their heads (sigh – like anything other than community service for 30 days via a check to a food kitchen will be the sentence – if that).
I wasn’t, either. They lied similarly about KSM, as Marcy helped discover (if waterboarding’s so effective at getting actionable intelligence, why did it “need” to be used 266 times on both men — 183 times on KSM, 83 times on Z?), so it was no surprise to find out that they lied about Zubaydah.
Oooh! O’Keefe’s on Breitbart’s payroll!
http://mediamatters.org/blog/201001260064
What! a protege of the Leadership Institute (read Rove and Atwater) who lent him taping equipment for his Pimp sting, plus his sidekick son of the US Attorney in Shreveport — nothing to see here. This is just a YAF or College Network funded reenactment of Watergate but with fewer brown people. Looks like the frat parties themes in the south have just been decided.
As soon as this “journalist” has penned most of Mein Kampf he’ll be out. Former Alabama gov. Don Seligman should be so well connected.
James O’Keefe’s pimp outfit would have gotten him laughed out of a frat house “Pimp and Ho” party let alone Acorn offices.
Every President has the right to completely replace the U.S. Attorneys AT THE BEGINNING OF HIS TERM. George W. did this, but then he replaced the “non-team players” (i.e., did not open frivolous prosecutions of Democrats) within the term.
The acting U.S. Arrorney is there because the Republicans are holding up the President’s nomination for the post. (Where have I heard that before? The TSA is still without a head, thanks to Jim DeMint and the nominee for that post has given up.)
The fact is EVERY President generally replaces all of the US Attorneys who were, after all, political appointees from the prior administration. Eisenhower did it, Kennedy did it, Nixon did it, Carter did it, Reagan did it, Bush 41 and 43 did it, Clinton did it. That’s not at issue. Obama should do it…especially since the Bush appointees that are there are definitively political cronies and intent on using their positions to delay civil rights actions and interfere with the political process.
Once appointed the US Attorneys are supposed to be granted the power to do their work without political pressure. What happened in the Bush Administration is he replaced all of Clinton’s appointees (no issue with that) but then LATER purged those that failed to pursue bogus investigations and release notice of such investigations before elections. If the appointee said “No, I won’t taint the electoral process” they were then fired and replaced with a more malleable lawyer. Monica Goodling specifically used illegal criteria to eliminate appointees, and to purge those who had pursued legitimate fraud, embezzlement, and corruption charges against folks like Jack Abramoff and several Congressmen and Senators.
Remember that the couple who picked up the cell phone conversation that caught Newt and his colleagues talking about some payoff? It was apparently an incidental act…and not even directed at the Newt gang. They went to jail for years…and this was, I believe, before there were any clear laws against cell-phone interception.
These guys seemed intent on actually penetrating hard-lines. They had a specific target. I think that they’ll likely get much more serious penalties…at least they should.
I was wrong about the Martins…they plead guilty and paid a $500 fine because the judge stated that their interception was not “intentional and directed”. But Representative McDermott was sued by John Boehner for several million for releasing the embarassing conversation to the House Ethics Committee. “It was illegally obtained” said Boehner, “how dare they catch us in our corrupt and immoral activities”.
Wonder what he’ll say about O’Keefe. Oh wait, he had no problem with O’Keefe and his fabrication of the ACORN video.
