African Americans’ views on achieving racial equality have become more pessimistic since the inauguration, returning to their preelection levels.

They realize they need friends at Goldman Sachs to be seen as ‘equal.’

And that it’s okay if you talk about smoking marijuana in your award winning book…

but if you get caught by the cops, you’re going to legal purgatory, not the White House.

Now, whose fault is it that non-violent drug offenders haven’t all been pardoned?

The Boston.com article left out factor #7

the winner will now be whoever Diebold declares it to be. The near-entirety of the state will vote next Tuesday on paper ballots to be counted by Diebold op-scan systems

And the head of Diebold is a Mason, and the Masons were formerly the Templars.

Coincidence? I think not.

Would the last anonymous White House aide to stab Martha Coakley in the back
please put out the light?
I really want Coakley to win, if only to make these Mayberry Machiavelli’s
look like the fools they are.

Democracy Now is running MLK’s speech in the NY church…..the one he was apparently vilified for in the MSM.

Have you read that drug profits are the only thing that is keeping some of the major banks afloat? That is the real reason the US is in Afghanistan — to keep the heroin pipeline flowing.

I’ve read that, but I’m not a single cause person. I think the causes of U.S. being in Afghanistan are all of the above.

Some military jerk on cspan saying that AQ ability to recruit in Europe is because the Islamic men who go there feel like fish out of water and are searching for identity.

Well, golly gee, what % of Islamic men studying in other countries join AQ? Why do the ones who do, choose that as their identity rather than something else? Could it have anything to do with U.S. attacks and occupations of Islamic countries?

Hard to believe morons like that can get a job anywhere, but instead they are pervasive.

Mornin’, BT, pups

Great post by Digby. Gonna have to get out my lance, spruce it up a bit and mark spots on it for ConservaDem scalps. Note to self: don’t forget to tell the ConservaDems to let their hair grow out a bit before the election.

There are quite a few people at this site lately who are ready to scrap the whole Democratic party because of a handful of these ConservaDems.
I’m all for ridding the party of them

Do you actually expect to hear a thorough discussion in the media and by politicians on the role U.S. foreign policy plays in AQ recruitment efforts?

In response to Bluetoe2 @ 21

Of course not. In fact the jerk had a call that was somewhat less pointed that I would have been, asking about U.S. control of world’s resources as a motivator. He replied that wasn’t the case because they (the 2000 he studied) didn’t know that before they showed up at AQ’s door, but were told that after they were recruited. Begs the question, of course, about why that’s so appealing. Young men searching for identity (never was one, so I’m guessing) probably try a bunch of different things before finding one that suits.

So this guy has been purposely chosen to make sure that U.S. foreign policy stays out of the discussion.

So I’ve noticed. A lot of cries for third party candidates from third parties that don’t exist. Stay home, screw yourself on local issues and candidates. As an independent all I’ve got is the Dem party to offset the Rethugs. Throwing the party off would be like me throwing away my M-16 in the middle of a firefight cuz it jams once in a while.

Hiya, SD. What an awful week, huh?
I’ll share with you my version of think globally, act locally. On Friday, I was at a small local store and there was a stray puppy, not baby, but under a year old running around in the store. I brought him home. On Saturday, I drove around the neighborhood looking for Puppy Lost signs but found none. This sweet little guy was well groomed, but with no collar, so I went to several groomers in the ‘hood to see if anyone recognized him. One shop owner checked him out and got very upset. Seems he fits the profile for dogs which are bred for fighting. (he’s not “fixed”.) So, she suggested I take him to the vet to check for a chip. He had none. This convinced the groomer even more of his previous fate. I brought him home and he’s now the little brother of my brindle. We’ve already found out where to get him fixed for free and today I’ll find a place where he can get a series of shots.
Now, I need a bigger bed and a bigger couch. This house is going to the dogs! PS, he’s a gorgeous chocolate lab.

Question ?
There has been some speculation that Reid will use reconciliation as a means to pass health reform should Brown win tomorrow.
My question ; which version of the bill would they vote on ,the Senate version House version or would they go back to the drawing board knowing that they have the 51 votes. Would the public option find it’s way back into the bill

Speaking of the Grey Lady, didn’t they have pay-to-read sections here a couple years ago? Worked so well for them they scrapped the idea iirc.

I thought you might like this story. We help where we can. The good news is that my local pet store is getting ready to move and they have Everything on sale for 30% off. Loaded up on collar, leash, chews, toys (heavy duty, of course) and the like. It really feels like there was a divine hand in this situation. One of those Meant To Be deals.

It’s being reported that WH aides are saying privately that Coakley is going down to defeat. The message they will likely take away from this repudiation of the Democrats is “we must move further to the right.”

A year-old chocolate lab is a “little guy”? Surely you jest, Demi. My daughter’s chocolate lab was huge, and close to 80lbs. at a year. And I don’t know a lot about dogs (I don’t like them much) but it’s my impression that labs are intelligent and gentle, perfect with children, and not the type of dog usually bred for fighting. My daughter’s lab wouldn’t even bark until close to a year old — they had to rig a bell on the patio door she could use to signal when she needed to go out. She barks now, but rarely.

My daughter is fond of saying that if an intruder got in the house, the dog would lick him/her to death.

This guy is smaller than my hound dog. They both have boxy heads which may mean than have some pit in them. I don’t know anything more than what the groomer told me and she’s been in the biz for a long time and knows a lot about dogs.
Shrug.
