Just so you know the Garden State is keeping its priorities “straight”.
Last week they legislature defeated a bill to allow same-sex marriage.
But if you’re chronically ill, you can toke up, a bill that had bi-partisan support.
Nancy Fedder, a 62-year-old multiple sclerosis sufferer who lives in Hillsborough, gets around in a scooter and said she has used marijuana for years to reduce pain.
“I’m in heaven,” she said after the Senate vote. “It means I am no longer a criminal in the state of New Jersey.”
Just don’t think of marrying a lady Nancy, or you’ll go back to being a scofflaw.

About Firedoglake
I used to wonder why the Democratic Party didn’t champion the end of Prohibitionomics™.
Then I realized they’re just as dependent on the banks who launder the money as the Republicans are.
Are the parties the same? No.
But they’re not different enough.
I believe the majority of this country are again ready to put this corrupt rethuglicant party back in power.I too agree that the differences in parties is miniscule at best, but I also know that a restoration to power for the Rs would be the final nail in the coffin. What resemblance of the America that still exists, though barely, will be destroyed with the rest.
Obama is the final nail in the coffin.
The notion he’d be any different has always been ludicrous on its face.
What comes next is the dirt, regardless of what letter (if any) is behind the name.
Good morning, pups. It’s Bobo, Cohen and Herbert today. In “The Tel Aviv Cluster” Bobo opines that Israel’s success in the field of technology is the fruition of the Zionist dream, but it’s likely that the country’s economic leap will widen the gap between it and its neighbors. Mr. Cohen, in “The Dragon’s Swagger,” says the United States and China are codependent through trade and debt, but their relations are heading into rough waters as Beijing’s assertiveness grows. Mr. Herbert has “A Serious Proposal:” the American Federation of Teachers should follow its president’s recommendation to accept a form of teacher evaluation that takes student achievement into account.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got a variety of bagels with cream cheese. It’s an almost balmy 30° here, and according to the weather forecast we should have only 2 more days of below freezing temps. So maybe the generation of all that hot air by Congress did serve to warm things up… Have a great day.
Ill have an everything bagel with butter as my last meal,THANK YOU!
In a perfect world, these legislators would do the bidding of the majority view of their constituency, but whats happening here is another spineless move by lawmakers to get re-elected,COUNTRY AND VOTERS BE DAMNED!
Its hard to admit I was born and raised in Joosey sometimes.
Exit toidy twee off the toynpike
The Health Reform Border has things screwed up when you hit the Lake. . .and then there is the Wal Mart Ad!
Well, I was born and raised in New Yawk so I understand bagels!
Well that and violent oppression, stealing water, murdering people, building settlements on agricultural lands, starving women and children, bombing schools, apartheid, general belligerence, torture, illegal imprisonment and, the ever present, war crimes.
Same thoughts, gettin’ too damn fancy without too much care of consequences.
President Obama and his friend Joe Lieberman are shocked by your Anti-Semitism.
Rahm is putting postage on a dead fish.
It is much easier to widen that gap if you function as a police state.
Just to get off topic for a second:Has anyone seen Eric Holder? Also, who is AG Cuomo settling with, for pennies on the dollar, today?Noone indicted, noone going to jail, and noone fired.
The ‘real’prosecutor was found in bed with a hooker so now we have prosecutors who are in bed with bankers. It’s all about price.
Whats the difference between a hooker and a banker??
One sells their body and soul for money and the other one
is a prostitute.
And have the backing with unlimited funds from the AIPAC State of America.
There is a difference?
Good morning. Quite a feisty crowd I see.
I just e-mailed Lizard Cheney, and told her to grow a penis and go fuck herself.
No response yet.
Ore. Ballot Measure Seeks Pot Dispensaries
Step by step :)
The warming trend and Marion’s bagels will do it every time.
A question if I may. Do you know if Palin the new Faux foreign policy analyst or energy expert?
Oh! Is that too harsh???
State-licensed? Guess PhRMA has gone into the pot biz.
Palin is the all-round expert in everything. You betcha.
A little seed and a little water will help avoid the licensing process.
and does the gig with Faux ‘legitimize’ her?
Back to the original post…
Don’t you think it’s likely that relaxed attitudes toward marijuana will eventually result in a more mellow attitude toward gay marriage?
I do.
*passes a ‘special bagel’ w/ extra poppy seeds*
With the 22-percenters.
Write your own Palin-opposition campaign slogans, using
1. Tina Fey
2. Quitter
Blerggh! AS the page loads, the background starts dark, rendering the text invisible; the white overlay is slow to load. Shouldn’t those of us who have signed the letter not have to put up with this?
This too shall pass.
You’d think that advertisers would try to avoid being obnoxious, but you would be wrong.
After looking at source code I would say that it is a little cumbersome/careless. It could have been written more efficiently. With the use of Layers and/or better CSS the weight of the full page ad could have been reduced considerably.
Glad to know it’s not only me
Now we get ads in the comments? Blerrgh indeed.
Are we allowed to use this blog to solicit for our businesses?
If so, I know where you can find a good exterminator
Overseas spam — now supplied for your shopping convenience.
The akshoe thing is a bot, it showed up last night over at EW, too and I’ve seen something very similar over at Salon. It’s just as likely to have malware at the site it’s pushing as actual merchandise for sale, so I would advise everyone to steer very clear of the site it pushes.
As for the “skin” today, I would be very interested in seeing how successful this approach has been to getting more people to sign up for the cause. My gut feeling is that most of those who would have a real interest would be very turned off by an approach modeled after far-too-aggressive advertising. It actually has me contemplating spending a lot less time at the Lake today.
I wouldn’t click on such a link if my life depended on it.
Yet the Mods are quick to jump in and edit if you give a troll a cross word or two.
Anyway, here’s another reason to NOT get married, gay or otherwise:
You’ll pay less for Obamacare…

Why is Marijuana Decriminalization a step back??? Its just as Progressive a cause as gay rights.
