Spokeswoman Dana Perino said, “Karl Rove and his wife, Darby, were granted a divorce last week. The couple came to the decision mutually and amicably, and they maintain a close relationship and a strong friendship. There will be no further comment and the family requests that its privacy be respected.”

Karl married Darby Hickson in 1986. They have one son, Andrew. Rove’s previous marriage to a Houston socialite ended after a year.

Former press secretary to President George W. Bush Dana Perino was appointed as a member of the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) Wednesday evening.

The board governs all government sponsored, non-military international broadcasting outlets, such as Radio Free Europe, Radio Free Asia, and Alhurra. The BBG is a nine member, bipartisan panel.

Perino is also a part-time contributor to Obama bête noire, Fox News.

I’ve been arrested more times than I remember, and I’ve had an overzealous cop kneel on my back while searching me. Hardly compares with the heroism (in the strict Campbellian sense: going to hell and back for lobve of your community, then returning and successfully delivering a salvific boon) of Goodman and Nairn, I know.
