Clearly, the Washington Post under Fred Hiatt continues its mission of making sure the least appropriate people comment in the most stupid possible fashion on various topical subjects.
Not being satisfied with climate change being covered by George Will and Sarah Palin we find Richard Cohen discussing his favorite subject, women and why they won’t have sex with Richard Cohen, for you see according to Dicky, for men,
…the urge to get closer to cocktail waitresses and denizens of dimly lit hotel lounges is in some way linked to the drive to conquer, to prevail — to succeed. It could explain why all this time into the Age of Feminism, years after women were liberated, women make up less than 20 percent of Congress and only 3 percent of those top CEOs.
The reason the Glass Ceiling has not broken is that women have other priorities — maintaining relationships and being a mother. This is the way it is, and this is the way it has always been.

Yes, according to ol’ Dick, women are not ambitious enough because they don’t like meaningless sex as much as he does. But fear not, as Richard Cohen will tell you, he knows how to treat a lady.
Update: Richard Cohen’s source for his knowledge of women found.

Here’s a question for these guys. Are the Tiger woman paying their taxes? So say Tiger gives them 30k for a weekend. And they do that 4 times a year. What is her tax rate? The waitresses get taxed on tips. What if Tiger tips them a car?
You would think some one would ask them this question. As Republicans will tell you no one should ever pay taxes if you Are rich. But they love to go after watresses working for tips.
I don’t really care much about Mr. Cohen’s sex life, or anyone else’s for that matter. With characters like Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, Katherine Harris, and the pert, little, blonde twit I think from Tennessee whose name escapes me, I don’t think plumbing matters a lot. These women have shown they can be just as soul-less, heartless, greedy, corrupt, and morally bankrupt as any man. Perhaps it has nothing to do with lack of ambition, but just maybe the fairer sex hasn’t yet mastered corruption as well as men.
Cohen: Women have the “evolutionary urge to couple with cheaply dressed strangers.” WTF? They do? By all rights I should be one of the most sexually made men on the planet, because I’m still wearing my jeans from New Years 2000. [They got cool after they got old.]
Cohen: Dingus wisher.
He is what Darwin called dreck, which is Yiddish for WaPo op-ed writer.
Can someone remind me again why most of the MSM and government is run by 70 and 80 year old people?

Watching morning Joe and my gag reflex got hit this time inside 1 minute. There’s something insidiously wrong and repulsive with ‘the press’ getting ~cozy~ and ~intimate~ with the white house……
Marsha Blackburn :-(
*gag* *burp* *spit*
Ah, thanks for the translation. Which is a good reason not to give them hits.
Maybe I shouldn’t wear that sweater with the light-up xmas tree, might be a come on to evolving types.
Mike Barnicle on Mornin Joe “The White House is mad at Howard Dean because they can’t control Joe Lieberman”.
While Mika nods her bow-head and is outraged how those boys snicker about Tiger.
Did he mention anything about Tiger Woods? This is such an important story, I hope the MSM continues their hard-hitting coverage.
I didn’t see Gypsy in the video. That was a nice touch.
Wear what feels comfortable, Ruth. Schmucks like Dickie will continue to play with themselves regardless. And then blame it on you.
Dr. Turk is torn between the rational desire to avoid rewarding bad behavior (like refusing to link Drudgico) and morbid fascination at the trainwreck. The good doctor only prescribes links to WaPo PRN (trainwreck wins).
Good morning, pups. It’s MoDo and The Moustache of Wisdom today. In “Doubts About Certitude” MoDo says Defense Secretary Robert Gates helped create the mess in Afghanistan decades ago and now has to try to clean it up. The Moustache of Wisdom, in “www.jihad.com,” says a troop surge won’t work in Afghanistan unless there is a parallel surge against those who promote jihadism online.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got Thomas’ English muffins with your favorite jam. To use an idea stolen from Brad at Sadly, No Mr. Cohen seems to be exhibiting a level of stupidity that makes it imperative that we start to feed him with the rubber safety forks. Have a grand day.
I wonder how close we are to an actual split in the party. Howard Dean and various progressives have been spat on long enough, and looking at the venomous reactions from the white house towards the left, and their sickening appologetic Lieberman love-in, it wouldn’t surprise me if HCR will be the final straw. There is already 2 democratic parties in practice, and I sure don’t subsribe to the Rahm, Obama, Gibbs, Baucus, Reid cabal, and I bet most progressives would consider that good riddance.
I’d rather have a split and get marginalized as ‘the dean party’ (as I am not so sure ‘the american voter’ will ever recover from the ‘american is right from center’ brainwash) and get an honorable defeat on any legislation rather than being asked to hold our nose voting on corporate interrest bills. We need that 3rd party.
Anyone who calls themselves Republican is a crazed teabagging lunatic, and unfit to govern. The split in the Democratic Party is what used to be the two party system. But a third party won’t work until the Republicans die off like the Know Nothings.
I’m wondering — has anyone ever seen Obama and former Senator Charles Percy (R-IL) together in the same room?
But I’ll vote for whatever Democrat wins the primary.
I understand that the House will vote today to finance the murder of thousands of more Afghanis. It will pass with nearly unanimous approbation… an overwhelming majority of votes coming from Democrats who won their primaries.
The Senate has effectively killed any hope of Health Care Reform with the majority of votes coming from Democrats who won their primaries.
Wow, MoDo with breaking news! Surely, as “good” women should be doing, she could take time off from “writing” to stuff a turkey or wash the floors.
Apparently, one relationship that Cohen has a hard time putting in words is being anally penetrated while continuously asking the attacker to stop. Here’s the master describing Roman Polanski’s crime:
No, Mr. Cohen, seduced is not possibly the word.
Jesus, whatta dumbfuck. Unfounded assumption after unfounded assumption, bigoted platitude after unvarnished self serving sexist bullshit. Awful old man. WTF would ever fuck that guy?
When the Republican Party dies off like the Know Nothings, the Democratic Party will split. Take your shots in the primary elections, because the general election is a choice between sane and batsh*t crazy.
Thanks, but wouldn’t you know MoDo would be all about cleaning just in time for the holidays?

g’mornin’ fdl,
i especially love the part in the video clip with the grainy black and white photo of ‘woman’.
“Ben Bernanke Time Magazine man of the year”
I’m getting sick.
I understand your reasoning…I just do not agree. Would I rather have a decent, honest, progressive politician, yes will that object necessarily come from Democratic primary, no. The Democratic Party, as it stands now, is the same as the Gooper Party, dishonest, regressive and surely not decent.
The Democratic party leadership relies on people voting Dem and not GOP just because…. and you see what we have. It is time to say to these bastards, NO MORE. You are not getting my vote just because you are not McCain or Bush or Palin you are not getting my vote period until such time as you become responsive to the wishes of the people.
We voted for Oh Bummah! because he was not McCain and you see the result in the decisions on FISA, Gitmo, transparency, Health Care, War crimes investigations, torture, NAFTA, Afghanistan. It seems that we have voted for Bush in black face just to avoid McCain.
And that is surely not Progressive.
“…women have other priorities — maintaining relationships and being a mother.”
And which mother would all those women be, I can’t help wondering. The Mother of all Mothers?
You have stumbled onto something.

Yeah, that’s it. I thought of it 4 hrs later. There’s a reason for the “old hippie” moniker. [wink, wink]
Y’know, I was thinking yesterday about how to educate the “less politically involved,” particularly those who think of themselves as Democrats, to the train wreck that is the Obama administration.
One thing that occurred to me was to link him — or in particular this health care bill — to NAFTA.
Most everyone now knows that NAFTA has done horrible things to this country. yet it was sold by [and to]Democrats as a “great deal” and a “great leap forward.”
Perhaps the phrase “health care ‘reform’ – Obama’s NAFTA” would be useful.
Whoa RAMA, you just blew my mind, nice one! I bow in your virtual direction.
Time out for some comparative mythology.
There’s a good reason why these guys think war is the way the world was made by a male war god to favor males in the “rightful” conquest of all things feminine. It’s the mythology!
O SISTER! MY SISTER
My sister is my goddess
My sister is my wife
My sister is my Princess
For whom

All

My sister is my Mother
Beyond whom

True, but I can at least try, yes? Vive la petite difference!
