Your politico warning is much appreciated.
I remember, back in the day when that piece of trash was being formed, thinking, “May be there’ll be a little decent reporting coming out of deecee now.” Color me deluded. :-(
We’re a virus with shoes……..Bill Hicks on humanity.
Sounds like:
(CNN) — The glaciers in the Himalayas are receding quicker than those in other parts of the world and could disappear altogether by 2035 according to the 2007 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report.
Oh joy, Christopher Hitchens coming up on Morning Schmoe.
Shorter Applebaum: “What lies shall we tell the children?”
Do people still believe in the global warming hoax? Hey, I’m no fool. I know dumping chemical wastes into the environment is bad, and I’m all for going clean… but this whole “human’s are causing the Earth to heat up” is perhaps the most retarded theory ever concocted. The science behind man-made global warming is bogus, and now there is proof it is bogus, and still people blindly follow Al Gore’s banner.
Wonder if they know that Al Gore runs a Carbon Credit business. That’s right, a CORPORATION! *gasp* Guess that means he’s evil by your own definitions, and by that alone you’d think liberals would think twice about this scam.
Jane is awesome, as usual.
Why is it that the rich can get away with conflicts of interest?
I suppose this Guantanamo news is coming out today to give reporters their shiny object and take some heat off Obama, Reid, Lieberman, et al for their HC maneuvers.
YEah, how DARE a liberal actually try to see a marketplace and build a business.
Point to something, other than Rush Linbaugh. Something real.
Hey, I’m no fool.
More of a virus, really, and an idiot virus at that.
Can you tell me why you’re here? I’d love to know your motivation.
Here’s some reading for you, complete with sources.

Welcome. Tell us more.
Three reasons:
1. I love humanity, and it kills me to see the damage Liberals are doing.
2. To bring a voice of opposition to a forum of people that feed off of their own propaganda in hopes that at least one of you would start thinking for him/herself.
3. Because I love a good debate. :)
Why do you hate polar bears?
Polar bear population is on the rise.
Let’s start with number 1. What damage do you perceive Liberals doing?
when you read a great speech,
you need to break it into pieces
the way it was delivered …
instead of writing it
to make the gnomes of the ivy
happy with the big words
sentences and paragraphs.
a speech ain’t prose
answering questions ain’t tomes
Ms Lie FIGHTS against reform
reform NEEDED by all americans,
ESPECIALLY Americans with CANCER.
Ms. Lie Fights AGAINST Cancer Patients.
IT it personal.
WE American cancer patients
have to work harder,
for less care,
for more waiting
so insurance execs can rip us off
you’re FUCKING RIGHT IT IS PERSONAL.
rmm.
Science has told us for decades (decades prior to the Global Warming Alarmist taking the stage) that earth’s last ice age (referred to as the “little ice age”) began sometime near the year 1400 and lasted until approximately 1860. This “little ice age” was responsible for disasters like the “Irish Potato Famine”.
Um, no. That was blight.
how to respond to teh burning stupid:

Sarah Palin called, she wants her talking points back.
lol!
A good place to start is with some facts. So far all you have given to support your negative propositions is a personal weblog with demonstrably false information.
Oh, fine. Now all the pups will look like that all day. /s
Nice one. Who doesn’t love Picard?
There is a proverb I’m sure you’ve heard before:
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
The majority of Liberal policies I have studied all follow the first half of this proverb. Free government healthcare, for example. Foodstamps. Welfare. Entitlement programs (and don’t give me that “Republicans made those policies”. I’m not a Republican. I’m a Conservative. There IS a difference) do more harm than good. Enabling people to be lazy, rather than pushing them to succeed through hard work is just plain wrong.
No one could be a better spokesperson on the conflict of interest by the Liebermans. Jane, thank you for restoring the Race For The Cure focus.
“Are there no prisons? Are there no workhouses?”
Here’s another lesson:
As ye judge, so shall ye be judged.
Just because some people abuse programs like welfare and food stamps doesn’t mean they all do. What are you proposing? Just throw them all out into the street?
Healthcare is a human right, or don’t you believe in human rights?
new post up top…
Those words came into my head too. I guess you and I are eating the same propaganda.
I know. I’m trying to learn how to love humanity.
I can’t get the video to play, even when sitting on a YouTube web page.
Now that you’ve proven that global warming is a hoax, can you please get to work on disproving that whole “gravity” thing? Think how much fun it will be to float off the top of skyscrapers. You first.
Don’t let him push you into that frame, demi. He needs to bring facts.
Show us the abuse of the system with facts including dollars.
Because we have plenty of facts. Just take a look at the number of times corporations have abused the system, while giving to their favorite members of Congress. The amount corporations rip off the public is staggering by comparison, and the heads of these corporations don’t serve time in jail comparable to the amount of money they steal.
Like this case.
Or this case.
Or this series of related cases, amounting to $1.7 BILLION in payments to the government and not one white-collar criminal serving time. (Although Senator Frist’s questionable relationship to these cases did put a big crimp in his political career.)
You want to troll here and harass the community, you are going to have to be better prepared. The old-school conservative talking points intended to blame the poor and minority members of our society for all our ills aren’t working any more. The real crooks sit on boards of directors and write legislation, and most of them make donations to R’s or have an R after their name.
And when they have D after their name, we will come for them, too. Learn to love primaries.
In that case why give CEOs of Banks and other rich folks lots of money as incentive to work hard?
You conservatives hold to the principle that rich and famous equals a winner and poor equals a loser. You just want to be certain there are lots of poor people so you can feel superior.
Well done, Rayne.
Preach it.
Here’s a picture of one of those enabled, lazy slackers who needs to be pushed – very, very hard.
He also takes his American dollars and spends them outside of the country; doesn’t exactly help our American workers, now, does he? Or is that the point?
We’d best float a big bond to retrofit all San Francisco’s old houses on the flats with wooden soft first stories for both earthquakes as well as with metal or concrete for waterproofing so that we might replace our garages with gondola bays in anticipation of sea level rises of 10′.
You always wanted to live in the Venice of the West, Taffy…
Just the kind of person the conservatives want their kid to grow up to be.
“In that case why give CEOs of Banks and other rich folks lots of money as incentive to work hard?”
Give? Who gives them their money? You? The government? Poor people?
This line of thinking really disturbs me, and seems prevelant among Liberals; that somehow people who work hard and succeed with an accumulation of wealth are privilaged, that somehow they are GIVEN their riches, and are therefor evil.
What makes you hate rich people so much? Seriously. I want to know.
I ask for something real and you point to this? If you have a fifth grader in the house have them explain it to you.
Apparently you have some difficulty understanding the basics of HTTP. You see, there are these things called links. They are highlighted words, that when you click on them (with the left mouse button, while pointing your cursor at the highlighted words), the web page you are viewing magically changes to another page. This page is called a source, and contains the facts that support the argument.
Now go back, clicky-click and read.
Yet conservatives regularly vote to cut funding for education — unless it’s at a local level where they know just them-and-theirs benefit. Then, when society degrades to the point where people simply must have food, they trot out this wisdom. Anything to avoid responsibility.
Most people I know who call themselves conservatives aren’t.
Any Conservative who claims to be so and votes for a cut in education funding is not a Conservative, and I would never support them, nor give them my vote.
Education is exactly what this nation needs more of, and in a much higher quality than the current steaming pile of feces we call our public school system.
Since we’re all clicking on each other’s links. Perhaps here’s one that would help.
The lakes have been drained, privatized and fenced off, the oceans have been clearcut of fish and poisoned.
Give us back the commons that you all stole and we’ll be able to fend for ourselves.

Yes, I call it GIVEN:
Taxpayers have dumped billions into AIG to pay off gold sacks and other corps; you seem to feel that it’s perfectly ok for the CEO to just phone it in and spend his loot in a foreign country.
1. Yes, more accurately they took over half my pension through corruption and incompetence made LEGAL by conservative Congress — in order to give them incentive to do business.
2. Yes through incredible tax cuts and recently, have you heard of TARP?
3. Actually they steal it from the poor same way they got my money.
You see you folks don’t believe in any safety net for the young, the old, the unfortunate, the sick. You have been brain washed to believe any of those conditions are shameful. You fear a “nanny state.” That someone might get something at a time when they are unable to work.
I genuinely wish you well and hope you will rethink some of what you have come to believe.
Consider:
.People do not become dependent from too much help from the community. In fact they become more confident and productive where there is a predictable safety net. People become dependent through deprivation and fear.
We all need nannies at various times in our lives. One could say a caring community is group insurance. You pay into it when you can and you know it will be there when you are needy. That’s civilization.
Where do the rich get their money from? Other rich people or the poor?
Forgot to note that while fishing poles and net hoops are free, there are monopolies on reels, fishing line and the strands for nets.
You can pay now, or you can pay later, but you gotta pay to play.
But it’s ok for the President to spend his loot in foreign countries?
I say his loot, when really it’s our loot. At least with the AIG CEO, only a percentage of his money can be linked back to the taxpayers. Oh, and let’s not forget that AIG is actually providing JOBS!!!
BTW, I hated TARP from inception to birth. I think every failing company should have been left alone to resolve their issues in the bankruptcy courts. Using taxpayer money to save a private company is so bass ackwards it makes my brain cells scream in agony just thinking about it.
Oh, and before you blame Bush again, do keep in mind that the Dems had a majority in the Congress. So even though Bush was a blithering idiot (I voted for Gore), a democratic Congress is equally to blame.
1. Was this pension fully company funded, or were there payroll deductions involved? I have to ask because most pension funds are fully funded by the employer, which means it’s not really your money at all. And if it’s all swallowed up, leaving you high and dry, then I’m sorry, but you shouldn’t have relied on your “nanny” employer and taken care of yourself. But in the event that it was funded from payroll deductions, you have my utmost sympathy. Such an act in that case would be flat out robbery in my eyes.
2. Tax cuts incentivise business growth. Who wants to run a business in a country that eats all of your profits, when you can just move offshore and win? Won’t see many american jobs out there in China, now will you?
3. Last I checked stealing is a crime. Company’s don’t steal anything. They offer a service in exchange for money. If you do not like that service and/or are unwilling to spend your money with that company, you go elsewere. It’s called the free market. It’s an amazing thing.
I was raised a Liberal, use to think the same way you do, about helping your fellow brother and all that jazz. Now, I will agree that certain amounts of aid are indeed helpful. Unemployment benefits are awesome, and I’ve been the benefactor of such many a time. But I don’t believe anything she be received for free. So when I see a person making minimum wage, paying 0 in federal taxes, jumping and screaming that the rich need to pay more taxes so that THEY can get free health care… my blood boils.
Actually my pension fund was self funded. I was forced into the market by Conservative Randian Greenspan’s low interests rates on safe investments. Just as I paid both ends of social security as a self employed. And no unemployment benefits are ever available for me.
In 2. and my previous post you are however missing the suBtle point that Conservatives believe that money incentiivizes rich people who run businesses but disincentivizes poor people.
3. Fraud is stealing and businesses lie about products, contracts etc all the time. That’s fraud. They bribe the Congress to give them remission from accountability for defrauding and stealing. Talk to someone with lung cancer. .
Why are conservatives still so angry? This is a serious question.
You have largely had it your way for over 30 years and are on the cusp demolishing the remainder of the social safety net.
What will make you happy.
by the way someone on wages, minimum or otherwise pay social security and Medicares taxes on first dollar about 10% of their income. How many Insurance CEOs pay 10% on their income from first dollar?
Limits to the Sanctity of the Contract? Where’s Ayn Rand when you need her?
Nonsense. Clinton raised taxes and the minimum wage and the economy took off. Bush cut taxes and kept the minimum wage static until it was too late, and the economy cratered.
Corporations expect to be entitled to infrastructure and protection in which to create their stable business climate as if these things grew on trees. No, they expect for individuals to pay to subsidize stability for business.
Take your therapy for anger against your parents elsewhere. Rand erred by projecting her rage against Stalin into a polar opposite philosophy.
But you want to know something? The brilliant entrepreneurs need working people more than working people need entrepreneurs, because if they fuck us over, we can just vote to tax them for the privilege.
You do support the US constitution that posits citizens, not corporations, as sovereigns, no?
good one.
You must have mis-understood me. I was saying that the article you pointed to is mostly irrelevant. The “Global warming 5 Commandments” all seem to miss the point.
“1). Carbon Dioxide, CO2, is not a pollutant.” — Semantics. CO2 is not regarded as a poison. If rising levels upset the climate most would call it a pollutant.
“2). Even at present levels, Carbon Dioxide is a trace gas. Current CO2 levels are only a small fraction of the Earths atmosphere, CO2 represents less than 1/2 of one percent of the atmosphere today.” — So what? How many chemicals in your body are you willing to increase by .5% without knowing exactly what will happen?
“3). Human’s produce a very small percentage of the CO2 found in the Atmosphere:” — That’s arguable. The chart here shows a significant rise starting about the time of increased coal use. http://biocab.org/MGW_to_2006.html
“4). Temperature Impacts CO2 Level – CO2 levels do not drive Temperature Change” — I believe your article only shows that CO2 is not the only factor influencing temperature. Again, look at the chart at my link. The recent rise in temp follows CO2 levels.
“5). Current Global Warming trends are neither catastrophic nor are they unusual given the Earth’s very recent past.” Define “catastrophic.” — Most of what I read there seems irrelevant because they talk about climate changes that probably weren’t related to CO2 levels, or they’re looking at very short term trends and drawing unsubstantiated conclusions. Either way, it’s nothing to bet on. Again, look at the chart in my link. Your “scientists” should prove there’s no relationship between the rising CO2 and the rise in temperature following, or STFU.
I think that was a waste of time.
