An Iraqi taxi driver may have been the source of the discredited claim that Saddam Hussein could unleash weapons of mass destruction within 45 minutes, a Tory MP claimed today.
I keep thinking that this must have been the most disastrous low-point in a lifetime of low-points in American politics, the nadir of political discourse. “How could that have happened?”, I wonder naively.
And then I wake up to see that Fred Hiatt has allowed Sarah Palin to put her (well someone’s) Facebook ramblings of FoxNews talking gibberish on global warming as an Op-Ed, and this, Glenn Beck’s “Christmas question”: “Do you believe Tiger Woods may actually be OJ Simpson?” and that may not even be the cherry on top of the crap-sundae.

We should stick to more reliable sources, like Curveball, before we decide bomb brown people.

We should stick to reliable sources–like our buddy Curveball–before deciding to bomb brown people.
That’s weird. I was trying to edit my post and somehow my edit was posted seperately.
Yea, that popup ad is in the middle of the post again too.
Someday a real snow will come and wash all this scum off the streets.
Can’t read the post, the ad is in the way. But from comments, I get the info about the Iraqi taxi driver source. That’s where the Moustache of Wisdom gets his wisdom, why not the ‘intel’ too.
Will not give WaPo any hits, either.
Bull crap. No cab driver’s speak English and there are no Farsi speakers in ‘Murca. Just one more lie.
Good morning, pups. MoDo is off today, so The Moustache of Wisdom has the stage to himself. In “Going Cheney on Climate” he says if we prepare for climate change by building a clean-power economy, but climate change turns out to be a hoax, what would be the result? We would be stronger, more innovative and more energy independent.
Here he is.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got Thomas’ English muffins with your favorite jam today. Why am I not surprised that the gummint uses “intel” derived from the Friedman School of Social Science Research? Have a great day.
Still have to log in each time I stop by !
Sarah Palin ,apparently is much , much smarter than all those silly climate scientists . What do they know ?
No doubt. She can see Russia on her front porch, now, since the ol’ water went away.
In fact soon she’ll be able to walk there !
OT Mass Dems Chose Martha Coakley as successor to Ted Kennedy.
I’m not impressed with Ms Coakley I feel she is another of the career pols that make up the brunt of congress.
While AG for the state she never seemed to be one who was in support of the people. The cases she chose to pursue as AG where high profile cases meant to capture the attention of a national audience , in her quest for higher office.
Mass Dems may come to regret this choice
From your keyboard….
Hey, I’ve gone so commercial ads now affix themselves to my very words.
Like a balloon. Maybe you should offer a prize to trackers, and M.I.T. will come to the rescue.
She drove the whole “Nanny shaking” case with as much publicity as she could ignoring the parents as possible (probable) suspects. Both Judge and jury were less than impressed with her handling of the case which done purely for her political gain. A cold, conniving woman a very poor choice for the Mass. dems to have made. You are correct they will rue the day….
FWIW, I’m not having any problems at all reading the post (but then I’m driving a Mac with safari) :})
Beck probably thinks his remark is humor and not racist….as if OJ is the only reference he could recall. Beck is crazy, as we all know.
O/T, but terrible weather here this morning. Winds are gusting up to fifty miles an hour and we’ve had at least twelve inches of snow. I had a hard time getting my dog, Roy, out just to pee. Everything is pretty much shut down. For those of you living in states east of me (Iowa), be prepared. It’s nasty.
I concur. And taking the dog out to pee is one thing, I’ve got to get her to do the other eventually.
Worst storm we’ve had in Iowa for a few winters.
Thanks….I’ll leave alittle note to my daughter to stay warm & safe…;))
I lived around there (KC) for awhile….such cold was not to my liking. Be careful out there.
Morning all.
Shoveling the drive is sure getting old. Current temp -7 high for today to climb to +20.
I’m dreading getting Roy to do “the other” in a couple of hours.
I read we haven’t had this kind of weather in December since 1888.
Stay warm.
Living here definitely has its disadvantages! We’ll have a white Christmas, though (I just hope the weather settles down, so I can get some shopping done).
Just be careful…makes me cold thinking about it. What has amazed me is really how everything/one pretty much keeps right on going.
It’s kind of the same with trying to fight back against the healthcare sham and the wars and the corruption in Congress. We common citizens keep right on going, doing the best we can, and that’s a good thing.
Beck has given ample evidence that he is a nasty, manipulative, hateful shit-head, but none at all that he suffers from mental illness.
When I watch excerpts from the show, often I see him rattling on shakily, with no attention to fact. I also see this from a family member who suffers from delusions. Tho am not a professional psychiatrist, I see enough mimicking of a mental disease that I would say there’s enough evidence.
Last week, after hearing of Tiger’s mishap, I predicted to my wife that the OJ Simpson parallel would emerge shortly, emanating from the maw of some nut.
At 8:00 this morning there were more than 900 comments to the Palin op-ed. Now there are 0. Huffington Post has a story about the blowback WaPo got.
Nah, there’re still there (up to 1679 now). The number of comments appears to be the last item that loads on the page. I’ve seen this a few times before. Especially when the comments are getting lot of play and updates.
