Ben Bradlee weeps.
Others have already taken the ‘Cuda’s ghostwriter to the woodshed, but when exactly did the paper of Watergate become US Magazine?

Nearly indistinguishable from The Washington Times. Well, that is my completely uneducated guess anyway, since I try to avoid both.
Are we gonna be treated to a virtual debate between Niels Bohr and Bachmann? Is Bachmann gonna explain string and membrane theory to us? Cool.
As often as you put the ‘Cuda up here, some might think you have a thing for her, BT! (I think she’s hot, fwiw).
And the WaPo sold out long ago. I cancelled my subscription (I live in the DC burbs) back on the leadup to the Iraq fiasco.
Michelle’s theory is that she collects string and “membrane,” why that’s what mems think with, silly.
I was born and raised in DC. Lived 1 mile from Mt Vernon when I joined the Navy. If the house is still there it’s right across the street from Mt Vernon High School.
Wapoo is like a train wreck you’re better off if you don’t look. I don’t give a click to those charlatans. Just let them do there thingy over there and don’t pay attention lest they absorb you and make you one of them.
Palin is in Reno, NV tonight, signing books at a Costco. Supposedly there is a line of people who waited throughout the night in the single-digit cold.
palin bachmann brainstorming – Watch out for flash flooding a mile wide and an inch deep.
I think I remember you telling me that. I’m a bit further out from the city (Loudoun). Used to take me about an hour and 30 minutes to commute to the Pentagon when I worked there for several years during the Reagan admin.
Next time I’m down that way I’d like to see if that house is still there. Got my curiousity up.
It’s on Old Mt Vernon Rd, set back quite a bit from the road. Used brick with two 6-section picture windows in front, screened porch on the left end.
Palin tweeted that she met Michelle Malkin and her lovely family yesterday in Colorado Springs.
As anyone with any knowledge of the subject knows, global warming is a hoax.
It is only the outside of the planet that is warming, the inside of the planet, closer to the core, is actually cooling.
So why worry about the area of the planet where humans inhabit when the rest of the planet is doing just fine? It’s the human infestation that is causing the outside of the planet to warm, and their actions will cause their destruction (too bad humans will take a lot of other creatures with them).
Sincerely,
A citizen of Middle Earth
Michele Bachmann has something credible to say about physics? Wonder what it could be.
I too have some thoughts on quantum mechanics that I’d like to share. Think the Washington Post would publish whatever nonsense I might write about quarks and their relation to the climate?
Oh, lordy, they’re comin’ out of the woodwork.
Hey, she learned tax law — I’m sure she can match set-transformations with Dickie Feynman any day of the week!
quark and climate are related only by marraige.
anyone have a link to this oeuvre of enlightened, scientific thinking?
LATimes has an interesting commentary on this debacle:
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/12/washington-post-booed-for-giving-palin-op-ed-platform.html
Single digit IQ, single digit cold.
It’s a match made in hell.
Now that Froomkin’s gone, it seems like the only qualification to write an op-ed in the WaPo is to be wrong about everything.
Palin, Kristol, Cohen…I rest my case.
Teddy@11, see Tbogg, he’s got the evidence. Although Sarah doesn’t seem all that excited about standing next to an
evil munchkin witch cheerleaderAsianlike person. If you mean the Palin op-ed, it’s here.
I haven’t posted about Palin in a while. She’s become a troll. But sometimes you can’t help it.
Wow. You read that? And your eyes didn’t get flash burned?
Its a small world, I go running at that school’s track which is right down the street from where I live now off of Route 1.
Hey, we gots a whole new batch so what’s one more.
“Michele Bachmann Piece on Quantum Mechanics to Follow”
So that’s where Stephen Hawking has been getting all his material. I just knew it!
Wow. Is my house still there? I learned how to lay brick and frame workin’ on that house?
Howdy, I’m right around the corner off the GW Parkway. This is a great area to live! Even better with all the firepups!
I wonder if she’s familiar with Brian Greene‘s work.
I’d recommend a very heavy-duty, by-prescription-only eyewash solution.
A 55 gallon drum should just about do it..
Rumproast points out that Palin’s editorial comes pre-debunked by the WaPo’s own science reporters!
Not too many Feynmans possible in a world run by Palin, Beck, Bachmann and the other members of the axis of teabaggery.
Funny thing is, Feynman would probably actually try to educate her. And if anyone could do it it would be him.
But most likely his head would implode.
RIP RPF.
Yeah, we thought so too. Spent all of my teen years there. Last time I was there was 76 and I was blown away at how built up it had become. The big brick house on the hill just across from the school was my grandfather’s. He also built it himself.
You just know that Greene has been ripping her off. I mean, her theories on tinfoil hats alone have revolutionized a whole generation of wingnuts…
I am not sure, but I will look the next time it stops raining around here.
Puravida,
Yes, firepups make any area just a little bit better!
Could it be the joke’s on us? The WaPo is just giving her a forum in which to make a bigger fool of herself?
She doesn’t read magazines and newspapers cause she doesn’t have time; she’s much too busy reading the latest scientific periodicals.
I wonder what she thinks about The Michelson–Morley experiment, and the evidence against the theory of a luminiferous aether.
Can’t someone ask? I want to know. What she thinks.about it.
From Palin’s text:
“Unlike the proposals China and India offered prior to Copenhagen — which actually allow them to increase their emissions — President Obama’s proposal calls for serious cuts in our own long-term carbon emissions.”
Bullshite. The US proposal is written in a convoluted matter, but most experts agree that it translates into a reduction from baseline carbon intensity of 33% to 36% vs 2005. The Chinese proposal straightforwardly sets a 45% reduction from baseline carbon intensity vs 2005. Both proposals theoretically allow the two countries to increase their respective total emissions, subject to these intensity targets. Yes, in terms of total tons of carbon emitted, China may end up being able to emit more additional guck into the air under its proposal than it does now than the US will, under ours, but that’s only because of its (current) assumed higher economic growth rate. If it’s growthrate declines, which it well, then following their own formula, it could end up with absolute reductions versus the baseline year. Ditto for the US – if we end up with higher economic growth, this “baseline differential” approach will mean we could end up having more flexibility than China. amd emitting more. I have not reviewed the Indian proposal so I have no idea what it says.
I should note that BOTH the US and the Chinese proposals are horribly disappointing from a technical perspective. But Palin is outright lying here.
this dork fuckno is dissin you downstream for being an Obamaite!
As regards the whole climate change “controversy”, (basically) you’ve got two sides.
On one side, you’ve got wingnut climate change deniers, propelled by a mass of disinformation financed by Big Energy.
On the other side, you’ve got physics.
Who do you think is gonna win that fight?
Fuckin’ REtard wingnuts…
When will Orly Taitz be writing on constitutional law?
Who actually wrote Sarah Palin’s op-ed:
a] Trig
b] Chuck Norris
c] George Will
d] the American Petrolium Institute
e] Dick Cheney
Answer: they rotated on each paragraph
But:
I would like to strike down the vicious rumor that it was a monkey picking words at random out of the Bible.
That’s clearly sexist.
Hee hee. That would be sexist, wouldn’t it?
It’s embarrassing how many stupid Americans there are.
Jane has a fresh cross-post already in progress: “Obama FAIL”
In Congress? My vote is for Big Energy. Physics is overrated, didn’t ya know? The American Petroleum Institute pays much bigger bribes than physics. Also, physics tend to hurt poor people. If physics say we’ll have more storms, less arable land, fewer potable water resources, and greater temperature extremes, the kleptocrats will just assume that they will live in fortified storm-proof homes, steal what little food and water is still available from the poor, and, heck, they can afford to live in an air conditioned/climate controlled bubble. And they have guns.
Where to begin!? I won’t. She did not write the op-ed. Too well-written and not nearly enough lies to be by the Crazy Woman of the North.
I did get to use the term “Palinesque” when correcting a college student’s term paper this morning. She used “progress,” as does Palin, as a verb. Twice. As in “Bach progressed the craft of organ playing technique.
I heard the first draft of her book was “going rouge” … until her ghostwriter got ahold of it.
(Laughter……)
Michele Bachmann thinks Quantum Mechanics are guys that work in the Ford dealer in Quantum, MN.
my photo! please link either the picture or my credit back to my flickr page as per the flickr terms of service. thanks!

That would be good, as the string & membrane people cannot explain the theory either.
It’s difficult to read the words of SP. To her, climate change means the change in seasons.
I’ve never looked it up, but that is my reaction (nails on the blackboard) to being “tasked” with something…I hear it more often; so?
Thanks for the headline, I needed the laugh. Classic.
funny…very very funny
It is a small world – I lived in Arlington and also Lincoln in Loudon Cnty. Went to Washington Lee High and George Mason when it was still a commuter college in Fairfax and part of UVA.
