Truly, Sarah has long demonstrated leadership qualities…if one means a bad chapter of the Kiwanis Club. From The New Yorker comes this story of why Palin only spent a brief period as a college student in Hawaii.
Palin’s father, Chuck Heath, gave a different account to Conroy and Walshe. According to him, the presence of so many Asians and Pacific Islanders made her uncomfortable: “They were a minority type thing and it wasn’t glamorous, so she came home.”
Truly, the dawn of a great Republican career — although Cokie Roberts would probably approve
Meanwhile, we all know where the President’s going for the Holidays — I’m willing to bet ol’ Sarah hasn’t changed her prejudices one bit.

No wolves to shoot from helicopters, either.
Except that in Hawai’i, those minorities are actually the majority. That is a difficult concept for some folks to deal with.
Anything to avoid saying the obvious — she left because she bombed out.
Good morning, pups. It’s [sigh] The Pasty Little Putz and Krugman this morning. The Pasty Little Putz is going all tsk-tsk-tsk over “Europe’s Minaret Moment.” He huffs that if the more perfect union promised by the Lisbon Treaty is the European elite’s greatest triumph, the failure to integrate Muslim immigrants represents its greatest failure. Odd… I had no idea he had such tender feelings about Muslims. (To say nothing of the fact that what he’s all tsk-tsk-tsk about didn’t even happen in a European Union country. Facts, schmacts…) Prof. Krugman, in “An Affordable Truth,” says history shows that cap and trade, a system specifically designed to bring the power of market incentives to bear on environmental problems, does work.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and the biscuits are out of the oven. Since I was kept up a good bit of last night by a gray fur person who REALLY wanted to cuddle and have his tummy rubbed I’m running a bit late this morning, so I’m going to go and turn into a blur so I can get everything done that I need to get done before I head off to be a cog in the medical industrial establishment. Have a great day.
Oh, ouch!
She probably tried to learn about Hawaiian culture by listening to a song called “Tiny Bubbles,” but each time, someone would smile, nod, and call her a “Ho”.
Palin doesn’t want to be near disadvantaged groups? This is a news flash?
Sarah is all about the glamor having grown up in Alaska! WTF.
Alaska being the most glamorous state in America is why Sarah is having a hard time fitting in with the rest of the country I suspect! Spit. *shaking head*
The USD is really in trouble now. The drug cartel has switched to euros.
Does this mean that in the future we’ll have a chance of handling money with no cocaine on it?
Heh. I have to plead ignorance. I don’t know.
Morning all.
Guess Hawaii isn’t part of the real america.
Talking about Martin Van Buren on cspan3. His house in Kinderhook, NY, which I have visited, was the first house to have a toilet installed inside. (I own an over-the-mantle mirror that the antique dealer attributed to MVB, but I checked with the curator of the house, which the federal govt bought in 1964, and there is nothing in any of the documents that would suggest the mirror actually belonged to MVB. The house was an antique shop for awhile before the govt bought it, and it’s my guess that the mirror went thru the house during that period.)
And the other obvious: Does anyone really care what she thinks? Thankfully we’ll get more of the GOING ROUGE on Saturday. Can you wait?
And, Good Morning.
A member of my family went to college with Don. You dishonor him with a Palin reference. Shame. s/
Are you serious? What I am dishonoring is Palin’s lack of intellectual curiosity and laziness. What I said has nothing to do with Don Ho’s honor, abilities, or anything else, other than his name.
klynn did remember to close the snark tag…
Please put a hold on anything related to Palin, please. Nobody cares about this moron. Talk about things that matter.
That would be a pleasure, but unfortunately the entire right wing fits into the tired and trivial category. It would be nice if we could just ignore them, but doesn’t get us into viable campaign stance.
Sigh…Thanks for noticing the tag…
Crosstimbers,
One more time…s/
gamd521 – I agree!
Yep, and even without the tag, I thought it was fairly obvious.
And, thanks for all the goodies.
And right on schedule to justify the surge,
ElvisOsama bin Laden is sighted in Afghanistan.I know, but couldn’t tell in what way it was snarky. Use of words like dishonor and shame got my attention. Sorry, if I over reacted.
He use to send the funniest Christmas cards. Often a Santa on a beach in Hawaii sunbathing in a red Speedo trimmed in white fur, Santa hanging ten and many other related Hawaiian motifs.
Heh, a lot of overreacting these days. It happens. Just knowing that Sarah is out there influencing people gets me upset too.
Those pesky non-White people have always irked Palin. Some more than others. Not many elected politicians, after all, have their official portrait taken while reading a John Birch Society-affiliated newsletter.
Two huge document dumps underway in Alaska, based on requests from key figures in the Palin ethics investigations here. Palin’s claim of “cleaning out crony politicians” and such are going to be dead meat by the end of this week.
Swim is upstairs…
Looking forward to your document dissection!
Not to beat a dead horse or to be argumentative, but the time and energy devoted to Palin can be better spent on urgent matters.
Such as changing the make up of Congress. And developing a counter to the pernicious effects of the HCR legislation that it is producing.
Not talking about her won’t make her fans go away, tho; and we have to deal with realities like even Coburn insisting women are a special interest group. Ignore that and it passes as agreement.
Thanks for staying on the trail, ET. It’s investigative work which will eventually be the stake in the heart of any aspirations she has for public office.
I cannot express the degree of disgust I have for this woman. She was contemptible by virtual of her gross ignorance and corruption, but her selective racism is absolutely beyond the pale.
Aloha Bitch!
[Mod Note: in general, we like to keep use of the "b-word" to references to canines and general complaints]
You folks are showing your fear of being actually in control of your own lives. All I see here is people being led around by their collective noses. Stand up for yourselves, do your own research, make up your own mind if you dare, though all here would turn on you as they do Sarah. I’ll bet noone here has actually looked into all the bogus lawsuits brought about by proxy from our “FeatLess Leader”, nor have many here actually ever had to feed their family from the largess provided us by our creator via game, and though you stand behind the counter at the butcher, safely removed from the truth of an impending death of an animal to feed you, you look down your nose on common folks like the elitist eurotrash( no matter where you are from, you are who you emulate )you have become. Dare she as a citizen have an opinion or try to feed her family without a government subsidy, dare you call yourself a man/woman, for you have the intestinal fortitude of a slug. Before you declare me some kind of paid agent for the GOP, I do this for free because I believe in the Constitution, and your party has decided to wage war upon it, therefore, I am at war with the likes of you and your narrow views, yes, your narrow views, you have them therefore you own them. I don’t vote on party lines, but if your guys got no game, they don’t get my vote anyway.
By the way, how’s that “HOPE & CHANGE” been doing for you so far? I am not a troll, so I will not be back, you and your diabolical peers may stew here in your own selfdestructive juices while we rout you for every election cycle from now until we minimize your voice to a mere whisper and you become a minor annoyance instead of the danger you represent today.

Aloha LibTards
We owe a debt of gratitude to Sarah for her name will become the enduring symbol of stupidity, opportunism, ignorance, racism, and the fact that those of her ilk will always follow their ” leader”. The Palinites have always existed in America and she only allows the focus upon them to be made more clearr. Thanks, Sarah.
Wasn’t just GOP that lost this election, it was the American People. You will think of this posting in the near future, and it will bite you in the nether-regions, gnaw at your conscience, and disturb your sleep when you realize how completely you’ve been sold by your own people, the elitists. The shame will be hard to overcome, except LibTards have no conscience or souls, so ignorance will suit you then as now.
Bless even people like you, because you need it most.
And Sarah wishes you well also, refreshing after witnessing Chicago politics up close in the WH.
Please stop showing any information about Sarah Palin. I need to know about her as much as I need to know about Glenn Beck. Worthless information.
Funny in light of the fact Palin meets the main criteria for being a member of at least two (2) disadvantaged groups herself…
1. The Village Idiot Society of the US and,
2. The I Quit Forum of Alaska.
There are lots of members to these groups too. They are real easy to spot – They all are buying her book.
