dood… it is currently 25.5 outside. it only got up to 41 for a few moments around 1pm and by 1:30 it was already down to 40. weather dood says the high tomorrow is forecast to be either 30 or 32 depending on what station ya watch
Been a while since i dropped by. Mostly i think cause i needed a break for a while. Things are shaping up, i’m just rediculously tired lately. Looking forward to my tuesday and wednesday off from work.
their pbs special was on my local station last nite as part of their fundraising drive. turns out that 12 days video was what landed them their record contract and the new special.
hey alias — good to see your fonts again, as always. i hear ya about the break — politics 24/7 wears on ya after a while. glad things are shaping up for ya
We’re gearing up for a possible round two of the H1N1 at this point at work. Much less all the holiday stuff that goes on to begin with. I just got some inventory work done this weekend so i don’t have to worry about it until january. Which is of course, why my back is killing me, and my fingers griping on top of it.
I really need to find a tai chi master again, i hate feeling this out of shape.
Ahh, nothing like a couple days off, consider yourself lucky for that
and a) you have work
and b) you have 2 days off in a row -small consolation that may be.
One of my parental units grew up outside Pittsburgh, and frequently guilted the 4 of us about growing up in CA with the one about placing a bucket of water outside the back door, and returning minutes later to find it frozen solid.
Lucky you, we have an overbotoxed Peter Coyote babbling on about some nebulous brain thaang. Can’t tell the difference between that and yur basic late late night infomercial of bogosity.
Chilly here, too. It snowed here yesterday morning. I like the cooler weather. I like to look at the snow. Don’t much like driving in the snow, though.
Yeah. H1N1 has been going around year long, it never really let up. Mostly a precautionate thing, i think. If we’re lucky it’ll keep decreasing (and i hope it does), and not decide to go on a foray into my state again.
yeah Elliott, i know. It was dumb luck in the first place that made me land this job almost 6 years ago. Now i’m glad i did, and i enjoy the challenges. Payrate still sucks, but its far better than nothing. This is one of the few industries where there’s constant need. Not necessarily recession proof, but damned close.
Looking forward to your diary, Knox. Our Predator war – apparently run by Blackwater/Xe – makes it really hard to be an American anymore. Who the hell have we become?
ktown — i was able to go all last winter without having to use my chains. i hope to repeat that this year. i prefer to stay home (hell i could hermit real easy) and icy roads reinforces that desire.
Somewhere there’s a short clip of someone in such ‘weather’ conditions in Pennsylvania, placing a pomegranate outside for 5 minutes, and then returning to hurl it at a concrete wall, where it shattered like glass.
Getting colder in Ohio, 20s at night and 30s in the day. I do remember a time when it had been way below zero for a bit and got up to 20, and i had to roll the window down while driving.
hey margot — it was 50 here yesterday and the hired girls and i were on the deck moving the tender plants indoors and the oldest looked at me and commented that it was almost warm outside — we cracked up.
It was really nice. It was the first time I actually got to stay there. All the other times were just work. When you buy a condo in Panama, you get bare bones. No appliances, no airco, no water heater…not even any lighting.
So the last few trips, it’s just been taking care of business. It’s furnished and decorated now. Hopefully it will be rented out soon.
my jen is a raiders fan. i’m a fan of local teams when they are in the playoffs or championship series but don’t really follow much. i know jen’s been disappointed this year.
Keep Singletary, IMO. He is why they were even in the Vikings game, and looking at Vernon Davis is all the proof you need that he is on the right track.
They need some help, but their run defense has a great core. Dre Bly should be taken to the woodshed.
Loo Hoo, I’ve been thinking about you since I saw a program recently on people who move to Mexico to live, and enroll in their medical insurance plan (single payer). This one woman said she paid $330 a year, that’s it, no mas. Sounds interesting.
I wouldn’t give Shanahan the top job, but I would back up a Brinks truck to get him to reinstate the Walsh Offense. He already had Rathman as backs coach.
Edit: Alex Smith is NOT Joe Montana, but he isn’t Scott Bull, either.
OMG! I heard that on PBS yesterday too. We need to remember, though, that while Panama and Mexico both have doctors from Harvard and other US schools, the general infrastructure is nowhere near what we enjoy. (although Panama City is far ahead of most parts of Mexico, and most parts of Panama)
If you were to call 911 in either country, response would be way behind what we expect in the USA. (Although Panamanians and Mexicans both are very warm and helpful people.)
The Walsh offense will never happen here with Sing in charge. We can disagree. I wanted Sing fired before he left the field today, and certainly before he left the stadium. I think he’s a loser. Raye is even worse.
My baby girl ran the Santa Barbara Marathon this a.m. while I did grandmommy duties so her husband could watch her finish. The boys were little pissers….just saying. Little twins of about 1+years old are just hysterically funny as they come into their own. When their mommy got home they were just cling-ons!
Sounds like you were expecting the Niners to be a playoff team after the 18-37 Nolan left. Hell, Walsh came in after 8-6, 5-9, 2-14 seasons, went 2-14 and 6-10 himself before they pulled out the ’81 season’s 13-3 and a title. We’re talking about Bill Walsh, and he took 3 years to get them into the post.
Oh, yeah. Preemies from good stock. You gotta laugh. They are big boys. We’re going to take them to see their auntie in Montana soon, but I just can’t imagine how we will fit in the selfish seats. News update in time.
Right. All the ’81 secondary but Hicks were rookie draftees, and the shrewdest trader ever took three years to get it done. Joe Montana was a 3rd round pick, the 82nd player taken in ’79. Dwight friggin Clark was a 10th round pick!
And Hacksaw Reynolds and Fred Dean may have been the best trades he ever made.
Here’s funny: My daughter facebooked that on her flight back to the left coast from Chicago she was seated by Joe (her husband, Italian name) and Joe Montana…..her comment, “holy hotness!’
She said that Joe Montana was really nice to everyone….and cute. Her husband Joe is also cute. And what I most like about him is that he went all in for my baby girl to have babies of her own….the darling twins. Some guys are just good guys. Much appreciated.
Don’t feel bad.
When Joe Montana was just a one-time SuperBowl MVP, the local radio station that carried their games decided to start an ‘official’ Joe Montana nickname contest. Fans were encouraged to submit entries…
Sadly (and predictably) the station settled on… and get your ugh reflexes ready – Joe “Big Sky” Montana.
when the guy said the high for tillamook was gonna be 25 tomorrow and i looked over at the thermometer, my heart just sank. i gotta go to the bank tomorrow.
the good news in that forecast tho was the predicted possible precipitation has been pushed back from thur/fri to sat/sun. i sure hope it doesn’t snow or ice up friday when i go into town to get my teeth.
Oh! You noticed. It is truly more beautiful than handy. I’d have been better off to build in shelving if I were a more practical person. But, you know, screw it!
more cans canning!
Suz!
ellie! remember their 12 days of christmas?
newton! how’s the bay area tonight?
12 days of christmas straight no chaser style
Christ, all the way down to 52!
Dyin’ here…
dood… it is currently 25.5 outside. it only got up to 41 for a few moments around 1pm and by 1:30 it was already down to 40. weather dood says the high tomorrow is forecast to be either 30 or 32 depending on what station ya watch
I do!

Cry me a chilly river newt.
It’s freezin’ here!

Been a while since i dropped by. Mostly i think cause i needed a break for a while. Things are shaping up, i’m just rediculously tired lately. Looking forward to my tuesday and wednesday off from work.

how cold is pa tonight?
hey alias — good to see your fonts again, as always. i hear ya about the break — politics 24/7 wears on ya after a while. glad things are shaping up for ya
Hi Suz!
I’m working late on something that will be posted shortly at Circleparkforum and at the Seminal as a diary. Almost finished!
How’re things by you?
28 degrees
I know I know – it could be worse
We’re gearing up for a possible round two of the H1N1 at this point at work. Much less all the holiday stuff that goes on to begin with. hey ktown – i’m working my way to suzcicle. how’s k-town tonight?
warmer than here ellie (does that help warm ya up any)
Ahh, nothing like a couple days off, consider yourself lucky for that
and a) you have work
and b) you have 2 days off in a row -small consolation that may be.
round two? are the decreasing number of reported new cases up here just a lull before it picks up steam again?
One of my parental units grew up outside Pittsburgh, and frequently guilted the 4 of us about growing up in CA with the one about placing a bucket of water outside the back door, and returning minutes later to find it frozen solid.
These parents…
Lucky you, we have an overbotoxed Peter Coyote babbling on about some nebulous brain thaang. Can’t tell the difference between that and yur basic late late night infomercial of bogosity.
These guys are great, Suzanne
Hey! Are you still working in the pharmacy?
Chilly here, too. It snowed here yesterday morning. I like the cooler weather. I like to look at the snow. Don’t much like driving in the snow, though.
27.3 and clear, here. Brrrrrrr! Yesterday’s dusting of snow is just sitting around looking sad…
pet snugglin’ weather!
FunnyWheelieDiva
my mom’s was about having to use an outhouse. in kentucky. when it below freezing temps.
Yeah. H1N1 has been going around year long, it never really let up. Mostly a precautionate thing, i think. If we’re lucky it’ll keep decreasing (and i hope it does), and not decide to go on a foray into my state again.

hey funny — you are warmer than i am — tis down to 25.2 here
Looking forward to your diary, Knox. Our Predator war – apparently run by Blackwater/Xe – makes it really hard to be an American anymore. Who the hell have we become?
hey teddy – thanks — i enjoyed their pbs special last nite and had to share.
a wee bit, I ashamedly admit
Yup Loo Hoo,
Still serving my little community!
*laughing* glad to be of help ellie
LOL!
must have been up closer to Lake Erie, abominable.
loohoo — how was your panama trip? i know the trip back but…. how was things?
nothin’ but dented fenders, as far as I can see
Or you could try Poo Chi!
FWDiva
Sort of like walking to school in the snow barefooted, uphill both ways.
ktown — i was able to go all last winter without having to use my chains. i hope to repeat that this year. i prefer to stay home (hell i could hermit real easy) and icy roads reinforces that desire.
hey mary mcc — how’s sac tonight?
cccc-ccccc-ccccc-old,

Drive by Brrrrrrrrr to all the freezing Pups!!
We are wet and cold here……
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Somewhere there’s a short clip of someone in such ‘weather’ conditions in Pennsylvania, placing a pomegranate outside for 5 minutes, and then returning to hurl it at a concrete wall, where it shattered like glass.
But for all I know, it was Antarctica.
hey and g’nite nahant.. brrrrrr and dry here
???
you did say chains??? now now Suz you reveal more than ya think….
Ai Ai!
tire chains.
It is raining now. Weather. We are having weather in California. Often we just have temperature. Tonight we are having weather.
Getting colder in Ohio, 20s at night and 30s in the day. I do remember a time when it had been way below zero for a bit and got up to 20, and i had to roll the window down while driving.
ah… doesn’t it feel good!
hahaha
Suz these guys are great! Just saw them tonight on our PBS station, but only the last few minutes.
hey margot — it was 50 here yesterday and the hired girls and i were on the deck moving the tender plants indoors and the oldest looked at me and commented that it was almost warm outside — we cracked up.
Hey Newt, another losing season for the Niners. BLEH.
i saw em here on pbs last nite. i linked their 12 days video up near the top of the thread
hey that guy — did the raiders lose too?
It was really nice. It was the first time I actually got to stay there. All the other times were just work. When you buy a condo in Panama, you get bare bones. No appliances, no airco, no water heater…not even any lighting.
So the last few trips, it’s just been taking care of business. It’s furnished and decorated now. Hopefully it will be rented out soon.
No, the Raiders won, 27-24 at Pittsburgh.
oh how wonderful! did everything turn out the way you wanted? glad ya got some relaxing down time there (finally!)
Well, g’nite kidz I am waAay beyond my bedtime.
See you all on the morrow.
And the effing Raiders pulled one out!
Keep me away from sharp objects for about a week.
my jen is a raiders fan. i’m a fan of local teams when they are in the playoffs or championship series but don’t really follow much. i know jen’s been disappointed this year.
g’nite ellie — nice to see you fonts here in the dark again. stay warm
We gotta get rid of Singletary and Raye. Dumb and Dumber.
Here. Clicks make ‘em bigger. Me in the blue shirt.
Nighters, elliot!
Keep Singletary, IMO. He is why they were even in the Vikings game, and looking at Vernon Davis is all the proof you need that he is on the right track.
They need some help, but their run defense has a great core. Dre Bly should be taken to the woodshed.
nite elliott
I’m a steadfast fan of whoever’s winning!
wow — whatta view — and i love way you did it.. these are great — what floor?
thanks for sharing them loohoo
Saints keep winning though. Or that is what I have heard from the fam.
They look very tough.
Gotta disagree. He’s not smart enough to admit his weakness which is everything except motivational speaking. I want him canned and Shanahan hired.
Loo Hoo, I’ve been thinking about you since I saw a program recently on people who move to Mexico to live, and enroll in their medical insurance plan (single payer). This one woman said she paid $330 a year, that’s it, no mas. Sounds interesting.

$330 a year and it covers everything? sign me up. dang…
It’s true. Covers dental and vision too.
*big sigh*
330 is less than the cost of two extractions.
*another big sigh*
The Walsh offense will never happen here with Sing in charge. We can disagree. I wanted Sing fired before he left the field today, and certainly before he left the stadium. I think he’s a loser. Raye is even worse.
RU Kiddng? It’s less than I pay for a MONTH of indiv. health/dental insurance.
FWDiva
Didn’t anyone think the PooChi YouTube video was funny? It’s nothing to do with electronic pets from Japan, if that helps…
My $0.02, FWIW, is that Bill Walsh and the Glory ‘Niners were a one-time deal…big convergence of talent. It was an exciting time!
FWDiva
My baby girl ran the Santa Barbara Marathon this a.m. while I did grandmommy duties so her husband could watch her finish. The boys were little pissers….just saying. Patience, grasshopper.
It’s part of why there are such huge ex-pat communities is Mexico and further south.
If I didn’t have this damn mortgage,…
Well, that’s a relief!
3 of my gal pals and I did holiday cookies yesterday, and were being silly with “Wake Up, PooChi!” all afternoon.
Well, they did cookies, I knitted a scarf to sell (I hope)
FWDiva
HA! You love it.
hey dearie — ohmygoodness — are they are year plus already?
And a bunch of 1st picks because their record was so abysmal…
Takes a long time to get back on top…
FWDiva
gotta love your shelf
fork… weather dood just predicted a high of 25 for tillamook tomorrow.

Royalty.
hahahahah
Cool!
release the loaf
Ooh! Broadway Joe! Lucky girl, your daughter.
Edit: Never mind. Wrong Joe.
She said that Joe Montana was really nice to everyone….and cute. Her husband Joe is also cute. And what I most like about him is that he went all in for my baby girl to have babies of her own….the darling twins. Some guys are just good guys. Much appreciated.
hotness and nice — a rare combination

Evening pups. 31 here.
Baking a pie with the last of the t’giving apples – heating the place nicely and smells great. Probably went overboard with the spices.
hey sunny — that sounds so yummy — as it gets colder i always amp up the spices when cooking or baking. 24.6 here
Actually, isn’t he part Lakota or something? It wasn’t the worst possible nickname…
Italian-Am, born and raised in Monongahela, PA.
Oh well…it’s a nice legend…
Yum. I just had the Thanksgiving meal last Thursday, and still have to make the turkey pie.
Dang, newt! You sure know your players!
24.6 is just too cold.
Now if only I could remember my 3 sisters birthdays…
26.1 here, but we’re going to get the Arctic Blast outta Canuckistan before Suz does…

What you didn’t get last winter in your new place, is given to you double-strength this year.
looked like it on the 11 o clock news…
fork
double fork
Turkey pie sounds delish.
The cabinet(?) in your Panama kitchen looks like a beauty.
Finally got it done!
Please check out Progressive Memo: Focus on Winning Elections.
here’s ktown’s link
time for me and the critters to crawl under some down.
g’nite all and thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight.
Nighters Suz and Pups!
nite suz
Ouch.
OMG, speaking of sisters…my daughter just heard from her birth mother…there may be sisters involved…kind of exciting and scary!!!
I have 3. Exciting and scary is just the beginning.
nite loo hoo, nite you guys
Don’t get so excited about the teeth that you get in a dangerous situation. They’ll smile and wait for you!
Oh! You noticed. It is truly more beautiful than handy. I’d have been better off to build in shelving if I were a more practical person. But, you know, screw it!
Thanks for giving the link! Not sure what went wrong the first time I tried to do it.
Blue America is FDL, right?
And Jonathan Tasini is the first candidate endorsed by Blue America, right? And he’ll be followed by others?
That’s what it looks like to me, so if my understanding is correct then it should be clear to all.
Nighters.
Wasn’t a straight clear shot, but really liked what I could see.
Indeed. When it comes to really beautiful v practical stuff, screw it!
Pie is done and I’m out. Nite to any remaining pups.
G’nite Suzcicle and everyone.
