I really do not even think marriage is a right. Marriage is a responsibility. It’s not a gift that somebody says, ‘Hey, now it’s time for you to get married. It’s our bestowal to you.’ It’s a commitment that you make and it is a responsibility that you accept.”
– Rush Limbaugh on gay marriage
Because marriage is such a sacred, holy institution only moral paragons (i.e. straight people) like Rush Limbaugh can practice it.
Rush and his (at least) fourth fiance have apparently agreed upon that most sanctified of religious articles of faith, the Prenuptial Agreement, and will be married on Independence Day. And then will come the test of whether his truth is self-evident…or even apparent.
And for that image, you are most welcome.
So bottom line, Rush Limbaugh can get married — four times — and wherever he damn well pleases, gay people with or without drug dependency histories, cannot in most places.

And straight republiKKKan men can have sex with other men and still remain straight and married. IOIYAR.
While Rush has the right to marry, I think he should be neutered and not be allowed to breed.
Is the fiance a dr.? He’s got to be running low on pills.
Did we goad Limbaugh into getting married again? Rush, you have nothing to prove. You are what you are, and that’s, well, um, what you are.
My favorite line on gay marriage is Kinky Friedman’s; “Why shouldn’t they be miserable like the rest of us?”
Morning all.
Rush likes that serial monogamy stuff.
In the spirit of this occasion, we should wish Rush all the happiness he can ingest.
Good morning, pups. It’s Brooks, Cohen and Herbert this morning. Bobo is wearing his military strategist hat today. In “Clear, Hold and Duct Tape” he says President Obama appears to have negotiated constraints to a military strategy for Afghanistan in a serious manner, and improved some of his options. Mr. Cohen, in “A Jew in England,” says America’s greatest strength is its lack of interest in where you’re from and consuming interest in what you can do. Mr. Herbert, in “A Tragic Mistake,” says sending additional troops to Afghanistan was a decision that never was much in doubt. It was also the easier option.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got a selection of bagels with cream cheese. Combining the words “Rush” and “married” in the same sentence have made me throw up in my mouth a little. A second cup of tea should take away the bad taste… Have a good day.
I like, “I want the last check I write to bounce” better!
I think that this has to do with Chelsea Clinton getting married…Rush just can’t handle the young girl that he constantly insulted about her looks is now an attractive adult unblemished by his attacks and engaged! Here he is an obese, malevolent freak who is a loser in love.
So to show his love…”pre-nup”! Real traditional marriage there, Rush!
Maybe the gal Rush is engaged to would be better off with the affable Kenyan that offered Chelsea Clinton 20 goats and 40 cows for her hand. Probably she would be getting a much better husband!
Does he have any children?
Good morning everyone.
Did his mother have any children that lived?
the funniest line of the whole campaign for guvernator is Hutchison’s “I’m going to Stop government takeover of health care” – while collecting gov’t health care from taxpayers’ money.
I guess Rush never heard that rights come with responsibilities. BTW Rush, how did accepting those responsibilities work out for you the last three (or four) times?
Many thanks for saving me from reading bobo. Always makes me feel woozy.
I wish I was sittin right under the X in Texas!
Just read the personal part of his wiki. Doesn’t mention any kids, what a blessing. His last (third) wedding occurred in Clarence Thomas’s house.
It was originally a ‘J’.
I always like the one on some of his campaign gear from ’06:

well, in rush’s world, gay people are not responsible.
if they were responsible people, they would not be gay.
since he himself is a responsible person (except of course to his three ex-wives) he has the right to marry since marriage is a responsibility.
Does this mean he is responsible for the crap that comes out of his mouth?
Though it isn’t really war
Were sending 30 thousand more,
To help save Afghanistan from Talibanese
Surely the word responsible is out of place in that sentence.
So far the R & D callers on WJ agree that it’s useless & the U.S. should get out.
Aw, geez, I just had breakfast. Please be careful in the future about using “Bottom” and “Rush” in the same sentence.
And they should be enlisting Iran as it is a certainty that Iran does not want the Taliban to be in charge next door. I guess the real problem is that the MIC needs the killing fields to fuel the coffers.
Still unanimous against Afghan war on WJ callers.
Surely you jest. Doing something serious with Iran that would be in the interests of both countries? What a bizarre view of foreign policy you have. /s
Ooops. First caller who favors adding troops to Af-Pak, on the “support the troops” logic.
I think the wooziness comes from frequenting the exalted altitudes he inhabits. He’s a great expert on so many topics… /snark
Poor widdle Rush. Still covering up his homosexuality by continually getting engaged, married, and divorced. It’s gotta be hahd to keep up this charade for so long, huh Rush?
AP reporting that alleged cop killer killed.
O Dear…Another gag first thing in the morning…And, I kid you not…triggers one of my yukkiest memories of when I heard Rush in my car. His topic: talking about what good women know, and, therefore, the elements of having a good marriage, etc etc etc. I hope he goes back to listen to a rerun. I hope he knows that drug addiction is a poor indicator for a good marriage outcome. And, what is she thinking, the intended, that is. Raally, she should be blushing.
And here I tho’t it was the Spin.
It’s so nice to live in my own little bubble. I’ve never heard Rush or Beck or any of the other rightwing nutcases.
Two calls for impeaching Obama on WJ callers. First one was a D from Maine who’s going door-to-door and has 5000 signed up. Don’t remember what party the current caller is.
First one was from Minnesota just north of Minneapolis.
That would make 3. I don’t remember that the MN caller wanted impeachment. I stand corrected.
I don’t understand all of these callers who say that Obama ran on getting out of Afghanistan. I don’t know how many times Obama said that Afghanistan needed to be won and that GWB took his eye off the ball.
As they used to say on the rez “they have no ears”
They heard what they wanted to hear, and probably did not feel the same way during the election as they feel about Af-Pak now. In addition, O said what he had to say to get elected.
I do not rec. either…but Beck is such a comic/joke, it is almost worth a glimpse. I truly happened on him during the time my mom was quite ill, so I was not in my own space. He gets the kind of reaction that is sort of: WHO/WHAT was that? How he has stayed on TV is beyond a wonder.
Swim is up…
What’s wrong with this country is that others are using their opinions to define the rights of others to do what they want to live their lives.
If You have a right, that is Yours to decide on.
The fact that we allow people to use their right of free speach, and their opinions to castigate and reject the rights of others, proves we have few real rights.
Rights are not what other people think they should be.
Rights are not what other people religions say they should be.
Rights are not up to the majority to vote on.
Rights if truely a right, they are for each individual person to decide how to use that right.
Laws should not be made to limit those rights as laws are meant to protect people, not restrict the rights of others.
This country has lost it’s soul to people who think they are trying to save theirs and others.
Who says gays can’t marry. Isn’t that right Rush?
I don’t want to be a member of any club that would have Rush Limbaugh as a member.
Why ruin male homosexuality with the bonds of monogamous wedlock?
Seriously, how many gay male marriages will remain monogamous?
I’ve been in a relationship with the same guy for 20 years now, and while we did get married as civil disobedience in 2004, the last thing we need is for the state to transform a religious rite into a sanctification of our relationship, as if taking out the loan for our house didn’t do that already.
What is worse, the implicit trade is being made that since we now “all” want marriage, that the more fun, stimulating aspects of the gay male experience have been traded away for us. I look around at my unhappy hetero friends, and am glad that we have figured out something different and hope that the most conservative elements of the LGBT communities, along with their erstwhile hetero allies, don’t ruin a good thing for us.
well, of course. since he is a responsible man, only responsible, well thought out and well argued, exquisitely balanced, logical statements come from him.
(i must stop now because my keyboard just caught fire from the sarcasm.)
I’ve been wiht the same guy for 39 years, dear. And NOTHING was “traded away.”
Meanwhile . . .
Doesn’t the non-monogamy part conflict with the basic premise of marriage?
No.
