If Corrupt Democrats Kill the Public Option, It’s All Harry

By: Michael Whitney Monday November 23, 2009 6:14 pm

So, what’s a Majority Leader to do? After all, he is the leader of the majority. Harry Reid can let a thoroughly corrupt minority of his caucus block majority rule, or he can do what needs to be done to get around the Caucus of Corruption.

That means Reid needs to whip his corrupt colleagues to support cloture, or he needs to use reconciliation. Those are the only two options for Reid to pass what the majority wants.

In just a few short hours, more than 15,000 people have signed our petition to Reid to use reconciliation. Let Harry Reid know the public option rests on his shoulders alone.

Sign our petition to Harry Reid: whip corrupt ConservaDems into line, or use reconciliation to preserve majority rule.

It’s the only way we can get a public option out of the Senate. Let Reid know it’s all on him.

By: Jason Rosenbaum Monday November 23, 2009 4:41 pm

As debate on health care moves forward in the Senate, it seems like a good time for a reminder: There is no such thing as a good trigger for the public health insurance option. In fact, triggers are nothing but a plan to kill the public option.

By: Spencer Ackerman Monday November 23, 2009 3:50 pm

Now, in fairness, I’m a very short Jew, so, it’s not like this thought hasn’t occurred to me either. But my friend Ari Rabin-Havt is a perfectly tall American of Jewish heritage, and the demagogic buffoon Glenn Beck mispronounces Ari’s eeeeeeethnicky last name in order to make some juvenile jokes about Hobbits. Because real Americans [...]
