Muffins in the morning are quick and easy and always smell delicious. My bread is on it’s second rising and only a half an hour away from the oven.

Good morning Marion. We (two) decided on duck breasts this thanksgiving to avoid having never ending leftovers it was a delicious meal with all veggies harvested from our garden on thanksgiving morning. It is a tradition we keep up, doing our final, final harvest on thanksgiving. This year Brussell sprouts, carrots, onions, celery (cream of Celery soup) and various herbs.We did not grow the figs we had with the duck.

Good morning, pups. Ms. Collins and Mr. Blow are off today, so Bob Herbert goes solo. In “Stacking the Deck Against Kids” he says the American economy is broken, economic woes are exacting a fierce toll on family life, and children are deeply affected. We must work harder to give our children the society they deserve.

The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got some banana pancakes this morning. It’s not quite the classic definition of eternity — one ham and two people — but one turkey and 2 people comes close! Have a great day.

Very windy in the mid-Hudson too. Besides the wood stove, have a fire in the parlor where I’m reading. Still fighting a cold, so intend to stay inside read all day. Baking something sounds like a good idea. I don’t do bread (at least not yet), so maybe something sweet.

Good morning eCAHN. Up? yep but battening down the hatches with 35 mph winds howling in from the north. It is high tide and the waves are crashing….lots of fun. We are toasty with the woodstove and pretty soon the house will smell of baking bread. Not so bad all in all. How are you doing?
