Relatively nice for now, about 35 at my house. Small chance of snow. If I had half a brain, I would have made a fire earlier.
Nice here, but I don’t want to excite the frigid.
hurry back emerson
brrrrrr
Don’t you love the line when Obama says “Who shall rid me of this meddlesome Rahm?”
O wait, wrong movie….
I heard Kelly can’t cook so I left him LOTS of thoughts down below.

Getting chilly here too. I really like this cartoon; can’t believe i’ve never seen it before.
I saw it, you old kitchen pirate.
I see I must school you in the art of the chinese pancake for the duck. Prepare yourself for ownage. :)

Spent a couple of days taking care of the baby-twins. Who knew that 14 month olds could have such wonderful senses of humor? Delightful. Wish we were leaving them a better America!

Dang, he was Killin Me.
Now YOU Killin Me, Too!
*G*

Oh YOU! Such a jokester.
Boy Scout motto
Hi Suzanne. How are you? Did you get the snow you were expecting?
Hi, everyone. Just got done watching “Inglorious Bastards,” am now wide awake and wanted to visit the lake for a while.
hey ce — how ya doing?
Hey, how’d you like the film?
makes sense. looking forward to it (especially with all this talk of food!)
hey past — the snow stayed up around the 1500 foot level. the cascades have gotten a buttload and the ski places have opened early this year.
Larue – Here’s the chinese scallion pancake.
NT, it had its funny parts, a little bit sad, some dark humor, and off-beat all at once. Seeing as how it was from Quentin Tarantino, I guess it was just what one would expect. Brad Pitt was humorous.
Wonderful party tonight with old friends of now grown children. Our children are late 20′s. We old farts laughed and drank Christmas ale (Great Lakes Brewery). We had a wonderful time. Watching “History Boys.”
We were suppposed to have snow in the valley today but it didn’t show. It stayed about 40 degrees all day.
what region is your valley in? my high today was 45
old friends are comfy and warm
Indeed. And so are some new ones.
salt Lake City. I’ts looking to be a good ski season here as well. Resorts usually open around Thanksgiving, and it looks like they should have enough snow.
Thanks hoss, crepes with scallions . . .
I’m good with that one . . .
Rice paper, or flour based Oriental Based wraps are kewl, too.
*G*
The best! And we connected like old times.
g’nite all (dragging off to bed)
Hey I have been traveling there frequently lately; in fact just got home late Thursday night from there.
Do you know a place called “Red Door” downtown? Martini bar. I just loved it.
they usually open around thanksgiving up here but some opened two weeks ago. lotsa snow up in the cascades and a lot more expected tonight — they are estimating an additional 1 to 3 ft tonight
g’nite spur — nice to see your fonts again
Yes, now use your imagination, and pair that with crispy duck, cherry sauce and a nice St. Emilion wine to wash it down.
*drooling*
I believe I’ve heard of it, but have not been there. I work downtown, there is a restaurant/bar next door to our office called The Bayou. Louisiana type menu, jumbalaya, etc. They have 50 or more different beers on the menu.
Dood, you gotta come down here, specially while a special person you love is in the vicinity, and eat at my house.
Fire up yer facebook and look here.
I noticed that place! It looked pretty good in passing.
she’s headed to southern kansas for turkey day at her friend’s parent’s — but i expect i may get out that way. all depends on her plans. she’s got some wanderlust she is burning off at the moment.
Yeah, next time you come over this way, let me know in advance and we could meet for a meal and some drinks there. My email is garyatbnaconsultingdotcom.
You might as well stay with me and belch. Whenever she gets to WY. It’s only about 100 minutes to drive to Laramie from here.
Sweet!
I’m prolly not going back till sometime in late Jan or early Feb, but that’s very nice of you.
sweet.. thanks kelly. larue fed me when i stayed over at his place — set the bar pretty high i might add…
Arrgh!
I challenge Larue to a duel!
and this time i will have teeth!
Ya KNOW, I’ve noticed you don’t post DETAILS about yer shit . . .
*G*
Just sayin . . . .
*G*
Can we get a recipe here, ya hossete!?!!?!?!?!!??!
*G*
pssssst dood kelly is a hoss not a hossette
Heh, as much as I’d like to claim serious foodie, we wuz short cash, and did a bit less than I’d have liked.
But I SURE ‘preciate yer kudo’s, Suz!
*G*
it didn’t show dood. the food was as good as the company :)
That’s OK, the invitation’s open for whenever.
Sounds like you and Larue are quite the chefs.
I’m so happy you’re getting what you need.
Teeth aren’t just a health thing, and a very important one, but they’re such a part of our sociability framework.
I had a lot of problems in that regard for a long time due to money. Teddy’s post earlier today about the shame/money thing actually made me cry. I simply couldn’t comment.
He knows. He’s messing with me.
Heh. I shall exact sweet revenge!
i know it all to well myself. part of getting past that shame is my comments here in the threads about it. being upfront and honest about my circumstances. took me a long time to get this far.
in best gilda
oh nevermind
Brang it on, hoss.
From scratch, all ingredients.
I’m not a good baker, though. Or desert person.
But my chocolate n vanilla raspberry mousse swirl alone will cook yer goose!
Course, I COULD look for my Italian Strawberry Short Cake.
White creme englaise, chocolate ganosh, pureed strawberries with sugar and marsala wined.
Layered in Italian Short Cake.
Dream on, girl. *G*
*G*
I totally admire your forthrightness.
It’s not easy to be out, whatever your closet is. And when you do accept and go public, you should be admired and applauded for it in my book.
*Admire, Applaud, Bow*
oh hello y’all.
*blushes*
You’re dizzying me with your details and your recipes…you handsome bastard.
Heh heh, I KNOW!
*G*
hey gw!!! how ya been?
i decided it was much simpler to just be what i am (like popeye, i yam what i yam) and try to live my life as honestly as possible.
Turning your back on blatant liberal hijinks…You’re no Republican, sheriff.
;>)
Brang it! *G*
not any more db! i am an official registered d now – and retired
Frying pan, fire.
;>)
hi yerself, gorgeous. i’ve been traveling a lot and then got sick for a while. tonight i hosted a fundraising concert for an unbelievable pakistani musician who’s getting asylum here. the taliban have taken to making death threats if he returns home as he was teaching girls and women. now we gotta get him enough money to get his wife and 8 kids here and get them housed. eventually, he’ll be playing at carnegie hall and lincoln center.
YAY! Darkblack in the house!
All drinkable/spewable items at my place are now placed in a safe distance from my screen. Cause I know DB is gonna bring something to the party.
Is the musician Haroon Basha?
wow gw. hope you are feeling better. how did the fundraising go?
his name’s nizami. i don’t know of haroon basha.
And I now bow to yer wow . . .
To sip, sup, pick and grin is all I crave in life.
I get that, it’s the same for you.
Bless ya KC, and yours.
Thanks for lettin me tease with ya a bit.
Best to you and yours, from me and mine.
And thanks for all your political input in da day time.
We all hope and fight on for our human rights.
I’d stand with you any day when it came down to our right to do that.
Count me in, anytime. I LOVE a good scrap. I’d stand with you,
*G*
The specialty these evening is grilled Dick a l’orange, Kelly.
;>)
the money hasn’t been counted yet. the concert was superb – his voice, sitar, harmonium and tabla. all of it’s fantastic, but his voice – i don’t have words.
that looks like a lovely dish. as i was opening the link i was telling myself i musn’t, but twas too late. first time i think i won’t have nightmares.
i’m kinda partial to the calamari
Silly me, forgot the garnish.
;>)
I read FreeMuse [Freedom of Musical Expression] a bunch. Haroon’s story is here.
Nizami I think, is a nom-de-plume. The Legend of Leyli and Majnun is written by a famed poet named Nizami, who lived about 1500 years ago.
Hiya pups!
Just back from a movie about Alaska food locovores and dinner at a Palmer restaurant with Ms. ET. About to write a Seminal post on Jane Hamsher vs. Sarah Palin on getting Blanche Lincoln to do the right thing. Guess who won?
EVOO, a lil roasted garlic, some bermuda onion, al dente pasta, balsamic vinegar, Asagio Cheese, roasted pine nuts, and some sea salt and fresh ground black pepper and fresh anchovies.
Sigh.
Crusty and hardened soudough bread (never MIND my creamy garlic butter spread).
Red or white wine, someone to love . . . blue eyed dark haired Italian/Sicialian.
‘K. I need a shower . . . . ;-) Don’t tell my blonde wife. *G*
Oh, you fancy our baked Alaskan?
;>)
hey et — how’s alaska tonight?
*gorp!*
It totally pays to have a DB headzup on a thread. Saves spew time. Heh.
Wow, GW, great to see ya back in da fold.
Your patronee?
Bless you, him, and his family.
Bless the HECK outta ya for same . . .
Best to ya, and him, and his family.
Palinheit 451!
i read that book over and over when i was a teen.
I couldn’t eat her even with garlic, breading and herbs.
And . . . . er . . . um.
Nebbah mine . . . *G*
Howdy ET!
Nice woik, thanks for all ya do!
*G*
We also have some lamprey from a very far-off place…But it’s for rarer tastes, I assure you.
;>)
[as I was thinking before, Larue is totally bogarting the good weed.]
35 degrees warmer than this time last week. 15 F above today. Ms ET, Strider and I went on a long walk out on the lake’s new ice. Lake, dog, but no fire today.
thanks for the clip of haroon. here’s one of nizami. he’s a 17th generation sufi musician
HAH! I’m watching Aliens: Resurrection or whatever it’s called on TV right now!
So appropriate….
Sorta fun sometimes. Thanks.
Hiya, Darkblack.
anyone want a google wave invite?
a classic!
yikes. must feel almost springlike in comparison
*WHAT?!?!?!*
Here’s Palin’s tweet I’m writing about:
hey tw3k — how ya been?
Sufi sings the blues?!
gud :) u?
hey person — how ya been?
Hello, ET. A quiet night and food for thought beckons.
…
Oh, Suz, I’m an anachronism now…The Packard of Photoshop pranksters.
;>)
Very interesting.I can see why the Taliban hate him. He verges on Vedic.
The music starts with the usual invocation, beginning with the word “Allah” and it’s traditional decoration. It’s known as “melisma.” It then goes to damn near the raga form. Hindu-ish. That would not be cool with a Talib.
Well, isn’t she a little helper…Just determined to termite her way into public life, isn’t she?
;>)
a packard? i always thought of you more as a lamborghini
*eyes rolling* what an ego
Swingin!
Yep, and even Cowgirls Sang Da Bluez.
It’s redhead thang, it’s a left coast thang.
It’s all cunning as hayall, too.
Kelly, Suz, GW and all my best Puppy Pals, love ya, gotta go.
Be kind, beloved, and thanks for all your gifts to us Pups.
I greatly value all of yas . . . and I’m about to bust out bawlin like a baby yer all so danged kewl.

tis a damp stormy night. i’m glad i’m inside with a nice fire.
i thought it was going to be this before i clicked on it
*waving back* g’nite larue
Adios. I shall taunt you more, later.
‘nite, Larue. No tears in the garlic butter, please.
;>)
ja, sounds good.
’bout time for me to head out myself. winds are picking up and my connection is getting wonky.
thanks for making tonight fun :)
g’nite all — i’ve got something special planned for tomorrow nights late late nite — hope to see ya there
You win!
No turkey for me… but this creature is well-done…
you’re cooking tonight *g*
Looks like Larue’s going to miss dessert…the ‘chocolate’ bombe.
Newt baked it himself
;>)
Diary is up. It is short.
Have you done a Palin as crazy bus driver image yet? If not………..
I’ll never be able to apologize to Chuck Jones enough for that. Never.
;>)
ETette drove through Tillamook today on her way down to Arcata.
I’m still trying to figure clouds, now we got waves?
HAH! That is the funniest comment I’ve read in DAYS!
Newt’s tart’s brat’s scat…
I’ve got ‘Palin crazy rebel X wing driver‘, complete with the Death Panel. Not the same, of course.
;>)
I used that at PA back in August. Can’t find the post – my computer is injured and slow – but the image is a gem.
sccccckkjk “Ghost Cribber to Rogue Leader, can you read me…over” sccccckkjk
scchrrrch…”Rogue Leader to Ghost Cribber..cannot read…or write…over” scchtrrch…
Awesome teabags
*splort*
Well, then, I’d best replenish the larder. I fell behind with her when her lumberjack lost the crowd.
;>)
That is precious DB.
A lumberjack, too? I thought the Russians were Nailin Pailin!
(Don’t worry… it’s safe for work…)
More like Bailin’ Palin…So big, uncle Ivan could see it from his dacha.
;>)
Heh …. I used that one too.
Bearded in me own den, ET.
;>)
Morning.
OFG…How’s the road of life?
;>)
I keep lightin’ the matches and he keeps blowin’ em out.
Thanks suz.
poof
Spew alert! I missed that one. Can’t wait to find the topic. Any hints, pups?
Ah, my ol’ bud DB. I recall a swan song post you did a while back and the deep heaviness in my heart. Glad to see you hangin’ tough. The road is a hard, cruel, unforgiving mistress that keeps you six inches from instant death at all times. But the sunsets and sunrises and rainbows and panoramic views are awesome. Sort of a trade, ya dig?
Is Sarah getting long in the tooth?
Now where’s that slave girl?
How many people here right now? Everyone, including the no comment lurkers, reveal thyself now by claiming present.
Ain’t it the truth? I miss it myself, but I’ve learned to miss regular meals more.
;)
…
‘Slave girl’, P1597? That was the last administration, they were big on rollbacks.
And with that…good morning, my friends until we meet again.
;>)
Okay, so I like entering a dark room late at night and dispensing deep and compelling observations about our political situation.
But I do not talk to myself. Type present and hit submit.
Hi OFG. I’m looking for ET’s PA post. Found this classic…
OK ET, you asked for it!!
The Crazy Woman Was For the Death Panel Before She Was Against It
[W]ho will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course.
per your request @155
Thanks.
