This is how FireDogLake commenter Kelly Canfield makes Apple Pie. Don’t know what the background music is in the video but it has a great beat and I can dance to it. Time for pie!
What’s on your mind tonight?
UPDATE: Kelly says the music is Billie Holiday, Spreadin’ Rythm Around from Ain’t Misbehaving.

*shaking head* that’s a good day around here
PIE!
Who wants ice cream for their pie?
Just in case it got lost down below, here’s a repeat of a reply to Suz:
Yeah, n at 12 oclock the place was packed, the doors were locked, n when the police knocked, them doors flew back.
But the joint kept rockin, goin round n round.
Real LLN Rockin
Yer ALLUS a musical challenge, gal . . . *G*

me me me me me
ooooh nice pic larue — how’s sac tonight?
Hey Pups,
I’ve purchased so many great Trader Joe’s tarts and pies, I think that I might give up baking. But, I did make my English fruit cake this month (bathing liberally with Famous Grouse).
Just trying to draw some good-humored fire from the soon-to-be snowbound.
poor baby,
need a sweater?
Hey Larue, check it out!
hey ce — ratfood left ya a message on the thompson thread downstairs
*setting glare to stun*
famous grouse? what’s that ce
Not really – coughing a pantload of bleh, I’m hoping tomorrow will be better.
I keep waking up almost unable to breathe – and I lose an hour of sleep calming down.
I’ll tough it out. But thanks.
Tasty!
You. Are. Wicked.
:)
dayam dood — you think you have something more than just a cold?
Oh! I’ll look! Can you give me a near # comment?
*innocent look*
Pie’s good, and that’s a form of Dixieland Swing in the background.
All the Dixieland Swing instruments are in play.
Piano, clarinet, I think I hear a bone and trumpet. Drums.
Coupled with some serious blues kitty.
Good stuff!!!
And yes, pie’s good . . . . good recipe, basic and simple!
Not to blog whore too much, but last Foodie Friday at Betsy’s I discussed a turkey cooking method.
And this Foodie Friday, I’ll cover some basic side dishes, done MY way, of course.
But for now, hit me with some of that apple pie, some vanilla ice cream, and a splash of peppermint schnapps!
i emailed it to ya in case i missed ya tonight
comment #111 ce
Kelly, that’s a fun -and swell- video.
Scotland’s ordinary scotch whiskey — sort of medium range (I hope).
I shall find a way to make you pay for your insolence.
Naah, it’s just a cold. It’s been a tough one, I know several who’ve had it.
totaly shaking in my boots — can’t ya hear my knees knocking?
Tall pies!!!
Thanks, Suzanne,
I pretty much leave email at work when I’m home. Will look!
ugh.
We been down in the hi 30′s for two nights now.
Storm movin Friday.
Temps to warm at night, lower in day.
And ‘maters on front side still growin.
*G*
Lotta flowers and fruits in past month, but real slow to pick, sadly.
I could eat them yellow pear ‘maters three times a day.
And these are LOTS bigger than the little one’s from out back.
About half a finger tall, and wider at the base. Lotta fruit!
Radar sez yer gettin a lot of weather . . . how were them gusts at 90???? From a day or so ago?
That’s big wind, gal!!!!
hey sunny — how ya doing
big wind monday — last night wasn’t too bad — gust of 68 up at the mouth of tillamook bay. tonight is breezy but not the winds they predicted.
You don’t MESS with music that good!
*G*
I do! That’s teh coolest video, love the music, the dome shape, I’m really really hungry now.
I can smell apples and cinnamon, ahhh….
Heh, buy a sweater gal!!! ROFL!!!!!
Newt had it goin all along . . . ;-)
*G*
hey margot — how’s ohio tonight?
Thanks, Suzanne,
We were talking about scrimshaw, now SO expensive that no one can afford the real thing.
Hey all, quick drive-by — cool video Kelly! I can’t make pie crust to save my neck. Thankfully, Wegman’s is coming through for me for our work luncheon as well as my family celebration.
glad i could help :)
Thanks Ell.
And Hey, Larue (& all)the music is Billie Holiday, Spreadin’ Rythm Around from Ain’t Misbehaving

I pay total homage to Lady Day.
Get over here and jam with me on “God Bless The Child.” I promise to play with my actual hands – bitch!
Sweet – thanks Suz!
Wow!
I thought I KNEW her stuff . .
Thanks for that info!
It was great!
Ellie! No speak-a da Italian ;-)
Hey Margot!
It was a true labor of love, and thank god for Kitchen Aid mixer! We made two cakes: 5 pounds of fruit and nuts in the recipe. Smells so sweet! I’ll bathe it in scotch until December.
pie? what is this place turning into: Daily Kos?
:~)
“Girlfriend! My fast is green?”
Dang I need a translator . . lol
hey pun — how’s the east bay tonight?
I’m with ya Suz, but the WaPo food section sez otherwise — there must be a way to doctor them up.
Thanks Suzanne. Taking a break from my freelance to swing though.
Ohio is going to be rainy/snowy/clear and dark until about late April, early May. I’m reading a lot and pretending I’m somewhere else. Morocco, Armenia, Albania, Tibet, Albuquerque, you get the idea. ;)
my pleasure rat
hey Suz – not too shabby.
Here’s cinnamon ice cream recipe from BleuZ00m @ LLN last night.
Visualizing a t’giving pairing.
tahiti, bora bora, the virgin islands…. jamaica man
Hi Christine. It took me awhile to track it down. Scrimshaw swifts. Decorative and utilitarian. Used to wind yarn, I think.
Winter’s here, Suz — frost in the mornings. Looks like a big system is heading for N. California this weekend.
“my friend! it makes me happy to see you.”
(something like that)
Español
I don’t speak Italian either, even tho the ex was of the Sicillian persuasion.
Hey! Just got your message from Suzanne. Scrimshaw is beautiful, mostly high falutin’ art work now. Tres cher, aussi.
I concur, Lady Day had the angst of the blues and pop hits of the day in her drug infested soul, time after time.
She wrung more out of a song than any one else could.
As to Mama Mayhem and Papa Mayhem, David Clayton Thomos did NOT destroy that song much. It wasn’t Lady Day, but it was more than decent for a mass audience of pop play in it’s time.
Don’t get me started on Al Kooper FORMING BS&T . . . which I heavily preferred, then and now.
;-)
N ya need just a tad more butter and salt in yer pie, hoss, just sayin . . . ;-)
Good to see you!
the only italian i understand is ciao
Well now I’m red-faced, as I’m supposed to be practicing my Espanol lately ;-)
oooooh pie fight?
hee heeee
Yes, there is!
If you keep butter in the fridge, and don’t have calorie fear, this is what you do:
Get that store-bought-already-rolled-crust. Have some table spoons of flour handy and some chilled butter.
Be brave, and take that crust and slice it up! Take small chunks of cold butter, and make a kind of “lasagna” by layering the crust and butter pieces, and sprinle a bit of flour on/around the butter chunks.
Work quickly so your hands don’t warm the butter much!
Re-roll it into a ball, then roll it out into a circle/oval like a pie crust.
People won’t believe you didn’t make it from scratch.
yumetti!
love the cinnamon.
Oh yes? Same here. I learned several filthy words, as well as which uncle not to ask “what do you do?” as it had never been answered when the ex asked his mother.
And corsets, and fans, and knicknacks galore… the poor whale was used for everything. Another energy crisis.
zomg, I gotta go; working overtime at 11 AM Friday. Thanks Suz, g’night all!

Dulce suenos mi amiga!
winding up
My all time fav BS&T from Kooper’s original band.
Blues, Dude. Hard Pickers, Great Horns.
You’re right! That’d be really good.
sobering.
Proof that it doesn’t take may words to say it all.
Nite LL
Schnort!
Yer too good to be real, Pun . . .
*grins*
On one episode of the Keno brothers PBS series “Find!” they visited the home of a Rhode Island couple who collected antiques related to the local seafaring tradition. Their passions were carved scrimshaw pie cutters and scrimshaw swifts. Their collection must have been worth millions. The house wasn’t too shabby either, on the shoreline with an amazing view of a nearby historic lighthouse… I could live like that.
this is playing here
Mahn, mahn.
Spleef. Also. Too. Betcha!
Ohhh. Interesting. I use a technique that sounds like that with flour and butter. One interesting tip. You put the flour in the freezer for 30 minutes. The last 15 minutes you throw in the 11 tablespoons of butter cut into 1 inch chunks.
Also this thing about keeping the butter cold has to do with some of the chemistry of baking. I bake the pies in a tin with little holes in it and place it on a hot Pizza stone. The combination of the hot and cold helps make the crust flaky.
Verte? Is not green?
Dia bono, madre mia!
Hey Suz,
Just back from Portland, supercomputing. Talked with manager I interviewed with on October 30, he’s still got a couple of candidates to talk to… said I was high on the list and they expect to be making an offer a week or so after Thanksgiving.
Had a screening interview this morning to do pre sales engineering work, went well. Work would be tuning DNA sequencing codes, pretty interesting stuff.
And a former colleague that is a director at Argonne National Lab referred me to someone at Lawrence Berkeley Lab that’s hiring – they’ve got Recovery Act money to use.
No offers yet, still I have to say things are looking up.
maybe that is where sarah gets her speech patterns… also. too. betcha.
hey spocko — how ya doing?
Hehe! Good one.
One of my fav’s
“at least it’s a fruit pie”
Opens with a picture of the band with David Clayton-Thomas. Poor Al, he started the group and then they gave him the bum’s rush after one album.
ooooh how wonderful wmd — fingers and toes crossed for ya
portland is a 2 hour drive east of me :)
For Thanksgiving I’m making cranberry apple almond crisp.
It’s easy quick and wonderful. I serve it hot with vanilla ice cream.
hehehehehe a classic
Oh yes, we all wish for such a life! I love the Keno brothers (they have a great memoir now cheap at Borders) and I have a great photo of MsCE with them at one of the NYC Antiques Week shows. I’ve never lived in New England, but I’m totally entranced with how the whaling industry formed the culture there. I’m such a nerd.
mixing up my marginal Spanish with once proficient Italian, all passed through a sieve of French near-fluency;
ver (to see) + te (informal ‘you’)
verde = green
Who knew? Vulcans can cook!
Now I see – LLAP stands for Live Long And Pie-a-lot
Dedicated to the dead and wounded in that time and place, it’s power lies in the cause of freedom and democracy always and everywhere.
that sounds wonderful spocko. jen made me an apple pear crisp a few months back. yummy hot with ice cream and yummy cold outta the fridge
Nah, just needlin gently . . . .
It’s an old chef’s line.
No matter WHAT the chef’s subordinates, including the day or night sous chef, the saucier, or anyone else would make.
The Chef’s reply with a stern look and glare set to semi stun, was, “Perhaps a pinch of salt, I think. It’s passable.”
*G*
GAK!
disappointed sigh
Fakir!
*G*
indeed, indeed.
Nerds rule! Congrats on making it into their book. Apparently they started out when they were kids collecting antique stoneware jugs, something else I’d like to have gotten into before they got priced completely out of reach.
The REAL Wind Up!
but but but there’s no pie….
I’m good thanks for asking. Remember that series of questions that I created for the NewsCorp financial analysts? Well I sent a copy to the Color of Change people. They wrote back saying they liked them and ask if anyone responded. I called them this week and so we are going to talk Friday.
I’ve talked to a couple of think tanks and non-profits but none of them say, “Can we hire you?” It’s frustrating since I have a pretty good track record.
As Jane has said with her Veal Pen posts, I’m too aggressive for most groups. They are afraid of “The nail that sticks up will be hammered down and their funding removed.”
But CoC has used my techniques and paid the price already, maybe they want to keep pushing this ball forward.
I was really pleased to have the Argonne guy refer me to LBL. I’ve really liked working at national labs in the past. Something about working with really intelligent people inspires me to work at a higher level.
Have you seen the culinary book Ratio, published earlier this year? It’s outstanding. http://ruhlman.com/books.html
I grew up in a family where my Dad pointed out H & L hinges on barn doors. We grew up poor, and collected everything (and baked everything, too). I guess my love of decorative arts starts with recycling — we always bought “junk.”
Uh, what is it? Street theatre, theatre art, or a musical concert?
Sorry, I don’t get it . . . and I don’t know OF it, at all . .
My ignorance is great in this matter!
*bows*
CoC did good with dobbs. maybe they will like your work product enough to say those magic words. i’ll keep my fingers and toes crossed for ya spocko
tis a compliment that he referred you.
what’s that sound? oh, just the dregs of punaise jr.’s college fund swirling around the drain!
Good luck to ya hoss, and all us that are looking for a place to make a living, or pay our bills, or upgrade sandwich sales with some fries . . ;-)
Srsly, good luck hoss, some GREAT opportunities, it looks like!
Too much spleef, ya think?
oh crap pun — i’m so sorry
Hey! Michael Ruhlman is my neighbor here in Cleveland Heights. His books are wonderful!!
I figured it was the only logical thing to do when I moved away from home and decided I didn’t want to live on take out.
My skills went from baking (precision, chemistry, sweet) to cooking (improv, different kinds of chemistry, savory).
I used to make very elaborate desserts with no main courses. Now I can do it all. But I did take a week long class in the basics of cooking, learning how to chop, make sauces, grill, braise, and other basic techniques. Then I took a few specialty classes in pastry baking.
how cool ce — wow
There’s a rich tradition of that, at least in my head.
From making a birdhouse out of left over shims when I was a wee lad, to actually putting rivets in my belt when I wanted to have a punk rock looking belt as a teen. Using things you have, or can get your hands on….
Hmm, thanks, not sure of why Kooper left BS&T, always assumed creative differences!
But I’m a big Kooper fan, from Blues Project to BS&T, to Dylan backup, to Adventures and Super Session.
All the producing and arranging he did then and up to now, is insane, too.
Al Kooper, greatly under appreciated.
A monster talent. In many ways.
Anyone that can take a few dates with Bloomfield and Stills, go to the studio and add Tower Of Power horns, ‘as anb afterthought’, is a hoss.
He knew music, read charts, wrote charts, and was a hoss for all he’s done.
wow that sux punaise.
I blame Geithner.
ratfood, you would have loved it here about 20 years ago. There were auctions, farm auctions that had all kinds of those jugs, made by local potteries.
mMmm
living on desserts
I could do that
And hey Kelly,
My dad made sure that we knew how to use tools by the time we were able to read. He is a dude. And my younger brother made him help build a bong as an underwater experiment…
Haricot verte?
Hey, you parlah mas que yo sabe!!!
Pass the green beans!
*G*
My first career was in food. Ratio is a V-8 kinda manual for anyone who’s mastered the materials and techniques. Great reference.
me too.
You do live in the great pottery swath — lucky you.
ellie — on food network last night, i heard them say that pie was originally a breakfast food.
works for me :)
Since living in France, food is our reason for living. Too bad that we have to travel so far to fall in love again…
Yeah, but there’s killer zhazz, and then after being stoned all show, ya go OUT for pie!
Or did ya forget protocol?
;-)
Speaking of cooking … don’t miss next week’s Frontline
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/creditcards/?utm_campaign=homepage&utm_medium=proglist&utm_source=proglist
Who cooks our goose like the financial services industry, eh?
Most of the potteries are gone now, and the auctions have been too pricey for me for a long time. But it was fun to look.
Yow!
oh my — thanks ppd
True story, MrCE and I were pretty apalled, but laughed our asses off at his guts…
me too!
Interesting. Of course that feels like I’d have to do MATH and as you all know Vulcan’s hate math! (Actually that just me. and I don’t hate math I’m just not great at it.)
book cookers
Hey Margot,
I did mix this giant fruitcake in a Roseville bowl, about two feet in diameter, with a huge spoon. Better days gone.
i’m not vulcan and math is not my fav. maybe that’s your human side…
There was a show on PBS a few weeks ago advancing the theory that human adaptability as omnivores was a key to our evolution and eventual descent into our current status in the biosphere.
No longer are only we what we eat. So is the planet.
if ya sorta think about it — toast with jam is a poor subsitute for a wealthy person’s pie for breakfast
Not to mention playing on Highway 61 Revisited. All I can find re: BS&T is that he was forced out, no explanation that I can find. I own his book “Backstage Pass” but it’s been over 20 years since I read it. Seems like he mentioned it but I can’t remember details. If I find it I’ll see what he had to say.
Did you know BS&T was named after the 1963 Johnny Cash album of that name?
Here is something I’ll bet you didn’t know about Kooper, from wiki:
Good night all — I have a job (thank goodness) to go to. See you in the funny papers.
that i did not know — wow
dood, remember that EDGAR site I sent you? I have a little tool built in Excel that would eliminate your math need to come to conclusions about balance sheet health. You just copy and paste the numbers in and PRESTO!
If you don’t have Excel, I can probably re-tool to the google shared app version.
What’s probably interesting to you, is the companies P/E ratios, and exposing weakness in their over-valuation
g’nite ce
When you borrow billions from the Fed at zero interest, then “lend” it out to credit card holders at 29%, you don’t have to cook the books.
You’ve already cooked your borrowers.
That’s wild!
So is there a Syd & Marty Kroft connection?
See you in the funny papers — a midwestern bubby-ism.
Night, CE
nighters
Ratios are really just arithmetic — but very powerful in combining ingredients to achieve the desired result.
Nite Chris
Mmmmmmm, Billie Holiday & apple piiiiiiiiie!
I’ve heard legend that the Lady was the band singer on the night the dancers all but stomped the Savoy Ballroom to dust. The song might have been “Miss Brown to You” or “Them There Eyes,” in different versions of the tale. She could really swing a tune without turning a hair.
On these strange colds we’re having this fall: Try plenty fresh-squeezed or at least not-from-concentrate orange juice, at least 2 big glasses a day. Frozen juice and v-C supplements do not seem to be as effective, for me anyway. Since wheelbarrowing myself to the store my daily improvement rate has soared from about 0.5 percent to 3 or 4. Believe me, I appreciate it.
Sweet. You might still luck out and find one under priced but Antiques Roadshow has nixed a lot of those potential bargains by educating the public (somewhat). Anyway, I could probably be duped by a fake so would be afraid to buy stoneware unless I was confident about the provenance. Well, if it was cheap I’d buy it just because I liked it…
You were in the biz?
To what degree or level?
I did my time it in all . . . *G*
Married a waitress!
Typical! lol
the proverbial frog..
hey prostrated — nice to see your fonts again
g’nite CE
I was a short-order cook. To tell the truth, I’ve been short in all my occupations.
(pssst: old pal TRex is writing again)
i like this band on tds — jacks mannequin
sweet *scurrying over to take a look*
Hey! You’ve still got yer snark in high mode even up this late! *g*
Nope, had NO idea he was into the Banana Splits . . . . .
Know all about Dylan tracking story on Rolling Stone, Positively 4th Street.
Never read his book nor knew there WAS one . .
Yer ahead of me.
But man, he has been great, over the years.
A real hero of mine, music wise.
Need some really good cinnamon. Don’t have a local Penzeys, maybe Whole Paycheck – or better yet, my asian mkt – has something.
Headlines Will Roll
Not so gradual over the past three years. Although we haven’t seen a google search result with Goldman Sachs and guillotine in the same headline … yet.
Here’s my quarter
I’m a Man
That is interesting. You know I’m going after NewsCorp right? I have a relative who is a money manager and I have a friend who is in investor relations. I might involve them.
The thing that I’ve found when talking to people who follow finances in companies is how quickly they dismiss laymen’s concerns. So what I do is say, “Okay, maybe I’m not picking up on the right area or terminology, but you are the smart one, if you were going to hide money or mess with the books, how would you do it? And then how could an outsider expose it?”
I like to remind people that Enron was exposed by a single reporter because everyone else was saying, “Oh it’s just so complex and it’s working great so don’t worry.”
I might help CoC build on the financial hit that they are taking with the lose of 81 advertisers on the Glenn Beck show. And the key here is to turn the NewsCorp investor on Murdock. Appeal to their greed. They don’t care if Rupport supports Beck out of his own pocket, but he had better be not be taking it out of THEIR earnings! The key here is to use their greed which is the most powerful force in the business universe to force changes.
Yep, Kooper and Bloomfield are all OVER Dylan’s Highway 61, song and album.
They were both part of the backing band along with Paul Butterfield when Dylan went electric in ’65 at Newport Folk Fest. SHOCKED THE NATION!!
“. . . Dylan (vocals, electric guitar), Mike Bloomfield (guitar), Sam Lay (drums), Jerome Arnold (bass guitar), Al Kooper (organ) and Barry Goldberg (piano) – most of these were members of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, also playing that weekend.”
Basic info from wiki. The Whole Read Is Good!
oh lardy that is sweet ellie
He sort of crashed the Like A Rolling Stone session, with producer Tom Wilson’s permission. Brought his guitar, heard Bloomfield, decided to play the organ instead. Wilson mixed him low but Dylan liked what he heard and said to turn it up. History in the making.
Kooper also played keyboards on assorted tracks from one of my all time favorite albums, Electric Ladyland.
Well I’m off to bed. Nite folks!
g’nite spocko
Murdoch’s Beck play is the greatest leverage of all.
It’s not a loss in fact, it’s an investment in directly influencing U.S. public opinion. This actually reduces the amount of money needed to buy politicians, by redshifting the country’s political discourse into their bizarro universe.
*G*
Whistles great greetings and acolades and best health in Venutian!!
*bows, too*
Good to see ya . . . *smiles*
I’ll get with you on this via email so we don’t hijack the thread.
Promote your efforts – The Seminal will be good to you!
I’ll get in the weeds with you offline though. There’s lots of yummy weedy numbery vulcanity to be had.
Sleep tight, spocko
I saw an interview with Kooper in which he talked about why he declined to tour with Bob. The itinerary included dates in the southern states including Dallas (yeah I know Texas isn’t part of THE South). He thought if they shot JFK they wouldn’t hesitate to take out a bunch of long-haired musicians. A little paranoid? You betcha.
Apple pie for breakfast is a New England tradition.
*adding new england to my must visit list for a reason other than the fall color*
i have dental news: my next appt is 12/11 and i will walk out with my finished upper plate. dr t is doing the extractions and dr a is making sure the denture fits properly.
Wowee, hope it all goes great for you.
Yep, he’s back, and solid.
*G*
Dang, that don’t suck!
*G*
Great!
It’s been quite the year at this house in the same way. Dental care and maintenance is so beleaguering in cost and pain and time. Glad to hear you’re near resolution.
thanks rat — has been a long process and i’m finally seeing the finish line
thanks to a fairy godfather (whom i will be paying off monthly) i will have teeth for christmas.
a very good thing
Suz, that’s WONDERFUL!
Incredible, now happening all so fast!
YOU GO GUHRL!!!
aint it!!! i’m so happy it almost wipes out the nervousness about sharp metal objects. almost.
gonna have a real smile next time ya see me dood
All I want for Christmas…
hell my front teeth are about all i have up there — its the rest i’m getting :)
Dude, given back then (’64-’67) folks were still dyin from civil rights actions, and the general ‘wars’ we had at home in USA regarding antiwar, regarding racial equality, women’s rights, and the reality of long hairs goin into the south?
Plenty of reason to worry about being wasted!!!!
I myself avoided THINKING of traveling into the South in the early to mid 70′s!
I was happy packing into the Sierra Nevada, and communing with the mountains, and that was enuff to boggle my city boy mind.
The South? Heh, no more than I woulda enlisted to go to Nam!!!!
I was convinced then, either route led to my dying.
For nothing.
Lord Amighty! It’s 3 in the morning.
I should be sound asleep.
I’ll pay for this..
uneasy rider
its only midnight here ellie
Our casa is yer casa, you travelin lady, any time you need shelter and lodging!
*G*
Yes, I Have Rosalie Sorrells, And Big Fine House!
A Big Fine House . . . . damn I love Rosalie Sorrels . . . sigh.
Funny, it’s early here . . . *G*
and ya cook good too :) thanks larue (and your better half) – i plan on staying put until spring
If you like and have confidence in your doctors it helps. My dentist isn’t the cheapest in town but I trust him and don’t mind paying a little more. Wish I’d gotten all my crowns back when I had dental insurance, though. When I got approved for disability in ’07 and had a little money getting caught up on dental care set me back a bit.
I’m so glad you’re getting things resolved, it’ll be a load off your mind. I hope it makes you feel super.
Got my work done, or as much as I’m going to do tonight. Sweet dreams to all.
*G*
‘Thru OMAHA!’
*G*
g’nite rat. i asked around town and everyone i talked to said this guy was the best. he really is worth every penny.
saw cdb at concord pavilion (i think hank jr was also on the bill). when he did that song we all yelled omaha at the end
Spring, schming, door’s open, you rang we take care of ya.
We’ll be up north in a year or two or threee . . . maybeeeeee . . .
;-)
thanks larue
’bout time for me to head out.
g’nite all and thanks for letting me hang out with you tonight.
Gal, I saw some GREAT bluegrass shows at Concord Pavillion, in the early to mid 70′s.
Never CDB, though.
I’m pretty much thru with Charlie given his conversion to fundamentalism, a few decades ago.
Back in ’75, this song was likely my last love of him.
And It’s A GRAND Song!
But sadly, he went fundie, and whackaloon, too soon after this.
Nitey FDL critters, one and all.
As always, a fine chat.
We do it again, and we hope on.
Night Night Suz!
nite suz, thanks for the hospitality. Great news re the teeth!
Amen!~!
BTW, To Whom It May Concern – My manners completely suck!
I was only snarky and did not say “Thank You” to Suz, who front paged this silly video of mine. I was equally remiss when Eureka Springs did so a while back.
I truly appreciate the LLN kind attention. I really do.
w00t! home from work early! Hope there’s some pie left.
And Larue’s put on one of my fave female vocalists, rosalie sorrels. Her stories are worth going to her concerts, let alone the music!
I’m thinking banana cream pie.
