The League of Extraordinarily Repulsive Gentlemen:
Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) pledged on Tuesday morning to defeat healthcare reform legislation if his abortion amendment is taken out, saying 10 to 20 anti-abortion-rights Democrats would vote against a bill with weaker language.
“They’re not going to take it out,” Stupak said on “Fox and Friends,”
Yes, on Fox and Friends, the nation’s premiere show for stories of Sarah Palin riding a dinosaur (the Palinolithic Era) before field dressing it — it’s full of meat after all.
And who else is ol’ Bart hanging with?
Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) told Politics Daily Tuesday that he plans to introduce an amendment to the Senate health care reform bill similar to the amendment by Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) that was attached to the House health care reform bill.
Of course he will. I’ll let Tom Tomorrow summarize it from here:

Those clever ‘pro’ lifers, inventing more ways to kill folks to make their point and save blastocysts.
A win for Catholic Corporate Health Care and its PR wing, the American Catholic Church.
Morning all. Yesterday, on the tweety show, Stupak indicated that he finally had begun to understand what the results of his ammendment would be and that he would be willing to modify.
Rep. Stupak is “Friends” with Drudgico as well as Fox. That’s not what he says here (warning — link to Politico Pipe Smoke Filter — “It’s Medicated!”).
Good morning, pups. It’s MoDo and The Moustache of Wisdom today. In “Rogue American Woman” MoDo is poring over Sarah Palin’s book to find anything in common with this apotheosis of traditional American values. The Moustache of Wisdom, in “What They Really Believe,” says clean energy opponents believe global warming doesn’t exist because that is the only way their arguments make sense.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got Thomas’ English muffins with your favorite jam. On Morning Joe they’re explaining that old, white farts like me are all going to vote Republican in the next election. I’ve got a news flash for them… Have a great day.

If you listen to Stupak on Tweety, that isn’t what he says.
At the very end (7:45 on) he is talking about common language that he would be willing to modify to.
Don’t forget or count out the
moronsmormons, along with their boy Reid who is an avowed anti choice pro corporation semi-democrat, and their ability to kill any bill that looks good for “ordinary” people. After all if you give the people what they want, and need, corporations run on the “fear factor, churches, insurance companies and war machinery, will not be able to frighten the people into paying for a pie-in-the-sky future rather than spending their money on the present for food, medicines, and fun.
That in and of itself does not indicate he is willing to modify. And the Drudgico article was posted this morning, after the Tweety interview.
Rep. Bart Stupak (D-NCCB) has put a poison pill into the bill, because his interest group considers the current system too profitable to change. I’d just rather not hear them talking about the “sanctity of life” after this is done.
Hopeful for that to happen. So far, WingerCare is all about intervening with women’s care, and oh, yes, evil lawyers.
“Rep. Bart Stupak (D-NCCB) has put a poison pill into the bill, because his interest group considers the current system too profitable to change.”
Ding!
Isn’t that what the whole health care “debate” is all about it? Who profits? Not to say there is anything inherently wrong with that, but the most people with the most need should be the ones profiting.
I suppose they think it’s some sort of clever ploy that will ensure that “Obama fails.” As with the insurance industry, these people have no interest in the common good. Their positions of responsibility should be attenuated, accordingly.
anyone have the names of the 20 votes he allegedly controls? I only know of Stupak (C-MI), Baca (C-CA), Carney (C-CA), Cardoza (C-CA), Carney (C-PA), Chandler (C-KY), Costa (C-CA) and Cao (C-LA). What’s with all the names starting with “C” anyway? Not their Catholic party affiliation, just the names themselves.
A day or two ago someone was reporting here on receiving a call from the DNC begging for funds to “support [whatever they could dream up].”
The person made a “get off of my lawn” response, and I queried whether they’d asked the DNC if any $$$ contributed would go to the likes of Bayh, Nelson, Mike Ross, Lincoln, Landreau, Heath Schuler, Baucus, etc.
I forgot about Stupak.
Any way we can get any reports on how much DNC coin has filtered his way?
