Oh, Sarah. It’s no wonder you so dislike your daughter’s baby daddy — he reminds you of a younger you, back in the day when you were hopping from college to college, first honing the art of the grift.
Playgirl spokesman Daniel Nardicio has released a statement blaming Levi’s manager Tank Jones. “He did not give ‘full-frontal’ as his manager Tank Jones reported he would. We’re thrilled with the photos we got, and are confident people will love them. Although there may be glimpses, we did not get full on frontal nudity.”
So that cute-but-dumb “f**kin’ redneck” high school dropout from a backwater town in Alaska has managed to convince everyone in the universe that he was going to pose in flagrante for a third-rate smut rag, and everyone believed him, including the people who cut the checks at Playgirl, the entire entertainment media complex, and his mentor, the Alien Queen of the Grifters.
Asked by Oprah about Levi Johnston, Palin, R-Alaska, responded: “I don’t think a national television show is the place to discuss some of things he’d been doing and saying.”
She continued: “By the way, I don’t know if we call him Levi — I hear he goes by the name Ricky Hollywood now, so, if that’s the case, we don’t want to mess up this gig he’s got going…. Kind of this aspiring, aspiring porn — the things that he’s doing. It’s kind of heartbreaking.
Out come the long knives! I believe in grifter chess terminology, that feint is called “The Lateral Doublespeak Monte”, also known as “I’m Not Going to Let That Fucking Redneck Punk Steal My Thunder.” I swear, if I didn’t know any better, I’d almost believe that Levi is damned quick study. One thing is for certain: he’s got Palin’s number, and he’s not afraid to use it.
And that makes me smile.

Watertiger!
I think folks like Levi and Sarah are born knowing the grifting ways. Saw lots of them growing up in Oklahoma.
Aqua Feline!!
Dr. Dick!
Howzit?
Well, Levi had some time to watch the griftmeisters at work, after all.
Hey, dogies!
feeling a little meh, so I probably should turn in soon.
I like the movie so much, I almost hate to use the word ‘grifters’ for Imelda of the North. Heck, using Gypsy would be unfair to ‘traveling entrepreneur’ types.
You really think Levi didn’t get his initial training at home, Dr. P?
Doing well. Have a student defending her dissertation research proposal this Friday. Should be my second ABD and we have only had the Ph.D. program for 3-4 years. How are you?
The Grifters is a much better movie than The Sting, although The Sting was a lot more fun… I’d love to be a part of the crew that takes down Sarah
Plain… Palin.Well, when your mama is the meth queen of Wasilla, you get lots of OTJT.
BCT – I believe you were part of the crew that took down Sarah Palin. Right after the nomination. Will be interested to see if historians record the role of bloggers at that critical moment.
I’ll never look at pillowcases or oranges the same way ever again.
Sarah will be confused and befuddled. Her normal state.
Pretty good, thanks. We wound up our presidential interviews today with James Oblinger, the crook from NCSU.
That guy is really dangerous. He’s articulate to the point of glibness. He spent an hour and fifteen with faculty and didn’t give a straight answer to any questions. If I were a punter, I’d put $5 on him, just because he’s really pretty, the faculty I talked with hate him, and he could easily bamboozle our regents.
Sigh. Maybe the US Atty for North Carolina will hurry up and indict him.
I wish I had that honor, egregious. And if I can claim any tiny part of it, thanks.
But, in the immortal words of Elton John, it looks like the bitch is back.
Wow. Speaking of grift, this guy sounds like a pro.
I don’t know if that is the honorific I would use, especially for one who thinks being the host of the national broadcast of Romper Room is good campaigning.
I was almost shocked that Gwen Ifill didn’t stop her during the debate and say, “Governor Palin, please, adults are speaking now.”
I’m a numbers geek, but as a colleague in English has said, “There’s a humanist in there, isn’t there?” (I was discussing American poets with her, explaining that I’ve got a narrow range in American poetry: Whitman, Frost and Sandburg.)
Listening to him, my mind kept flashing to the Governor’s song and dance from Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. The guy could be a politician: he’s that slick.

SHE IS VACUOUS UNINTELLIGIBLE AND A UTTER WASTE OF TIME
Speaking of grifting, our president looks to be getting a $75K raise (about a 50% increase), thanks to your buddy who took the job at MSU. this after the administration just negotiated a contract with the faculty with no cost of living raises for the next two years. Not even the measly 2-3% we have been getting.
Levi did a series of glam shot reprising Ted Levine’s “Buffalo Bill” dance from Silence of the Lambs.
Sadly, greater wingnuttia are in love with her so we are stuck with her for a while longer.
sad news to report my darling Baz has had his eye removed ,hislovely big brown terrier eye
I thought Levi’s new stage name was Miles Long…
Ouch. I’m really sorry, Dick.
Some people should have a little more sense of shame, you know?
Probably his most salable asset.
I’m sorry, SY. I hope he’ll be okay.
Mostly I agree with you,
and wish the MSM would cut off her oxygen. But until they do, she’s a force to be reckoned with – like it or not. Can’t wait for the day when her FB updates go unnoticed.
I’m so sorry to hear that, sadly. Best wishes to both of you.
Not our prez, I guarantee.
oh no, so very sorry sadly.
Sad news. Hope (s)he is doing well.
obviously not, or we would have seen it, no?
But you know what? Hearing Imelda heap pity on Levi Johnston (or anyone for that matter) has, besides entertainment value, political implications. Just wait until they manage to push a know-nothing like Doug Hoffman over the top in one of these races – the Right will pay dearly for what comes of if, and it will have her stamp of approval.
Did you see Dick Armey wrest the microphone away from Hoffman during a presser a few days before the election? Hoffman could not answer one local issue question and Armey had to leap to his rescue.
Some of my colleagues who know MSU and Bozeman figure she’ll be on the market in a couple of years. They just don’t think Bozeman will agree with her.
I don’t think I could show my face on campus if I’d pulled a stunt like that. Are you folks unionized?
You never know, the fact that he isn’t facing frontwards doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t be seen. Might be draped over his shoulder… :-)
Sorry to hear that. Hope he’s okay.
Unless she likes starvation institutional diets and a legislature which is not convinced that we really need all this fancy edumacating since all them kids leave the state after they graduate anyway. We have the lowest state funding per student in the country for the state system.
evening dick doc………..sorry me and the pup, have beent hrough 2weeks of hell culminating in an emergency TRIP TO UT VET SCHOOL inthe middle of tropical storm Ida
In theory, but there is a no strike clause in the contract and half the faculty would not go on strike if there wasn’t. We actually changed the name from the University Faculty Union to the University Faculty Association, because a bunch of asshats though “union” was low class. As a fourth generation union man, I would like to show them a little “low class.
One of my colleagues looked at graduate education for New Mexico and found that we are a net importer of doctoral degrees (that includes MD/DDS/DMD/PsyD).
You might look at that for Montana the next time your Lege starts making those sorts of noises. “Should we be a free rider on the nation’s higher education system?”
thanks,he also is a slave to big pharma, his eye drops cost 96$for 2.5ml………….this is such bullshit
Who are you organized under? AAUP? NEA? AFSCME?
i think THE Baz,will become a stoner…if pot keeps him from losing his other eye…he will get it fur sure
I am sure we are as well as there are no medical or dental schools in the state. The problem is that we lose most of our BA students owing to low wage and a lack of jobs. Education graduates can make $10K more by going to Washington or Oregon and 75% of them leave the state.
NEA.
oy Dick Armey….she is adhd imo,i cant understand any ofher dialog, and the voice kills me
Best wishes. Tell him Bob and me are pulling for him.
lmao
imo that would be most unfortunate, there is such a thing as too much..
I ask because we’ve got a small organizing movement on campus. I’ve thought about it, and I think I’ll vote in favor of AAUP and against any other.
I’m not sure how effective a faculty union can be, but our Regents are such a collection of knuckleheads that I’m willing to give it a try.
Sorry. What’s the prognosis, sadly?
Yep, if it requires rappelling it’s too much.
thanks so much, his problems are similar to other uninsured in the country, luckily we have a vet who loves him
well ,he has idiopathic epilesy, and now i must watch out he doesnt get glaucoma in his other from the meds………….
When I was in Chicago, the state system was unionized and highly effective. They blocked exactly the kind of BS we are dealing with by a credible strike threat. They are AFT (an AFL/CIO affiliate).
that’s been my experience
Ozzie, the bird I had before Bob went blind in one eye, then a year or two later went blind in the other. Vet didn’t offer much hope, birds are highly dependent on vision, however he lasted another year with lots and lots of TLC.
What’s the old expression, “More than a mouthful”….
Then again, if you have a spare tire you could always make a nice swing.
I have really been lucky that my 21 year old cat really does not have any serious medical problems (though she is getting progressively weaker in the rear end). I sort of dread having to make those hard decisions.
A no-strike clause in the contract seems pretty silly to me. “We’re gonna give away the only real threat we have… Can we negotiate now, pretty, pretty please?”
You know all those spew alerts we see here? Well, some of them are the genuine article.
Best. I know doggie love.
21 is pretty good. Hopefully when the time does come (years from now) it will be quick and peaceful.
im tellin ya the lovin pulled him through his eye was septic …….sheesh..your a good mummy you are
Those are really difficult decisions. Our 15 year dog did us the favor of dying in her sleep when we were beginning to discuss, “Is it time?”
Sorry ’bout that. At least your keyboard is still working. “g”
hehehehe
It has been that way as long as I have been here. Seems brain dead stupid to me as well, but the whole union is a joke who routinely pretty much give the administration whatever they want.
and you a great papa!
Haven’t been this juvenile since I was in my 30s, I am SO ashamed.
yoou libruls are the best parents!
lets keep it that way oke?…….g
I think a good Faculty Senate would work as well as a union, but on our campus the Senate is mostly co-opted by Administration. We have elected untenured Assistants to the Senate, which says more than anything about the co-opting.
One former Dean had a monthly luncheon with ‘his’ Senators ahead of the Senate meeting. He actually told them how to vote…
Which is why we’re talking union here.
Relinquishing all your power at the outset, isn’t that the contemporary definition of bipartisanship?
I think that kind of thing is pretty common, though perhaps not to that degree.
Well, to observe Harry, Nancy and Barack working it in DC you’d sure think so.
Think I had best toddle off. Young minds to corrupt in the morning and all that. Take care all.
A friend of mine says, “If a Faculty Senate doesn’t piss off the Administration at least once a semester, they aren’t doing their job.”
I’m pleased to say that during my time in the Senate, I was able to aggravate the Administration about once a year. I did my part…
‘night, Dr. D.
Corrupt them thoroughly.
I saw this shocking article today:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33975517/ns/us_news-the_new_york_times/
17 million American households now face hunger. Hunger. That’s one out of 7 families in the country – with a total of between 45 to 65 million people affected. We live in a country whose basic safety net is now so decrepit that we can no
longer feed our own. Institutions aren’t the only thing on a starvation diet. Heck, Congress should agree to stop eating until things are fixed. And Bible Spice just needs to go away.
intrest in SarahPalin, and Miss Prejeen?sez everything ya need to know about America now …………100%bullcaky
nite DD…sweet dreams
G’nite.
And Bible Spice just needs to go away

yup,we need to stop giving her bandwidth
I am not surprised that you provided an extra year through love an devotion.
gunna be a long winter…..sigh

Anybody see this remarkable story? I think this kid might be destined for greatness.

out of the mouth of babes ………hey
I’d taken care of Ozzie and my mom for years. I was having lunch with him almost exactly a month after my mom died when he suddenly collapsed and died. It was just about unbearable. A month later I adopted Bob from the avian rescue and now the two of us are best friends.
I bet out of that population alone we could have more than 10-million march on Washington.
PAGING MR. TRUMKA!
And it sounds like his parents are completely supportive.
you are a very smart sweeeeeeeeeeeeet cookie!
kids and pets my faves!
Pets are the kids who always love you and never grow up. Not saying they’re better but they’re often more appreciative.
Oh my!
that must have been tragic to lose your buddy so close to your Mom’s passing.
Bob came from an avian rescue? – you really are a good soul. Hope he wasn’t an abused birdie.
(Altho it wouldn’t hurt him to pitch in on the dishes every now and then.)
so well said
hear! hear!
What a rousing speaker Trumka is
he is the real deal,methinks
im hungry,and its midnite plus….
No one knows if Bob was badly abused or merely neglected. He had some issues. Still prone to bite occasionally but he seems to be doing a lot better. He’ll have been with me two years in March. I think he has realized that I won’t abandon him. He seems like a pretty happy guy.
Believe I’ll turn in. Splendid evening to all.
Good night, folks.
Is there anyone beside me that would like Imelda of the North(great moniker)interviewed by Bill Moyers?
4 dogs,5cats,1tortoise…all rescues,and there is peacefull co existence…….g
He’s the perfect guy to organize and mobilize. It’s the way we get our country back and it won’t take long. We are very short of time.
Good Night ratfood, sleep tight.
G’night
too pithy, she deserves no platform of that stature imo
nite to all sleepy heads off to forage for food…..sweet dreamsall
Applause! :-)
they maybe otherwise occupied trying to feed themselves and their families. This stuff makes me so angry: how can we live in the wealthiest country on earth and have a seventh of our families and a sixth to a fifth of our population literally go hungry. the president is in China now. I read something a while back that China’s food insecurity rate is now below 1.8% of it’s population, having lifted 700 millions out of absolute poverty in a single generation. That’s lower than our count of the food insecure by the way – in absolute numbers, not percentage. By roughly half… and we wonder why the developing world isn’t looking toward our crumbling city on a hill for inspiration or leadership anymore. We should feel shame.. and anger.
Hi, Late Niters. So sorry to hear the sad pet news.
Would it cheer you up to watch this?
Some of you may have already seen it; it’s worth 2 or 3 watches, I think.
i do …gnite
It is doubtful that Charlie Gibson or Katie Couric felt pangs of regret as they did their Palin pieces, but that is likely due to lack of self-awareness (and I don’t mean that as a compliment) – imagine treading in territory better suited to Beck and/or Hannity, and NOT needing to immediately take your own life…
Moyers – I’m sure he would see that opportunity a ‘coyote-ugly’ interview.
i’m so sorry for Baz and his human(s). :( Hugs to you both.
good on ‘ya, ratfood. sleep well.
I know they would march. So would the millions unemployed, and the scores of thousands that have lost-or are on the verge of losing-their homes, and the millions fed up with bailouts of billionaires while the citizenry is literally dying. If there was ever a time, this is it.
Hi pups, been lurkin’, just wanted to drop in and say howdy.
To Blub @114 — I am so with you on all that you’ve said about hunger right here at home. It’s unconscionable.
“Damn, that water’s cold! Deep, too.”
Excess?
Yo!
LL!
good to see ya.
How is your kitteh?
Hey Ellie! Kitteh is doing fine; snoozing on the sofa as we speak.
I’m snugglin’ with my tuxedo.
He’s bathin’ but needs a bit of lovin’ in the process.
Love those tuxedo kittehs :-) So distinguished. Running upstairs now…
you know, everyone is missing the real story here, playgirl is not considered a heterosexual magaizine, it only gets more women then men buying it when there’s a celebrity in there
they fudge their demographics if they represent a majority of female subscibers
