Le Zhed?
Good evening. Sorry, I had a disappearing video tonight. It’s back in action now.
I’m in, Anne Feeney! (Those Feeneys always were fighters!)
So it’s (political activism) a Feeney family affair?
Hey ES! I grew up with 2 Feeney families. They were both very liberal, very smart and and very tenacious.
Anne fits right in!
I like Warpaint. Hi all.;)
Hey emerson and Miss Margot..)
Hey Margot and Larue.
OK, so we won’t really know what’s in the HC bill till it’ s back from conference and after the Senate and House come to terms, right?
Or don’t come to terms…
Ok, I’ve seen or heard Feeney somewhere recently, in da blogs.
But Warpaint? Never.
That’s a big WOW!
Love the vocal play they got goin on.
I don’t understand the words to the first part of the song, or how it’s related to Billie Holiday.
But I caught Mary Wells ‘My Guy’ in the middle.
GREAT stuff!
Real interesting mix of music things they do, with 3 voices and two gits.
Lots understated, but interestingly woven and crafted at times and some of it slips by ya and ya gotta rewind.
Likey! Nice pick ES, who the hell are they!!!! lol
I figure at this point what we don’t know is by design… just like a wordy small print junk insurance policy.
Listening to ES’ great music.
Happiness is broadband access!
(is this how one makes ES possessive?)
Just discovered them myself. Caught my attention in the same manner as you… so I had to post them. Evidently they just signed with Rough Trade and have their first CD out next year. So stay tuned to LLN FDL. /s
Or the 50-page underwater re-finance loan, eh?
I’m all yours Sunny… so don’t get possessive…)
Congratulations on the wifi and welcome to the speeds of the 1990’s! The set up is the hardest part.
yES. Hi Sunny.
Hiya, pups! Just in from plowing 8 inches of fresh snow.
The president is passing through Anchorage tomorrow, refueling the jet on his way to Asia. The Anchorage Democrats are encouraging us to show up at the air force base gate and wave signs. I campaigned, canvassed, donated and voted for Obama – bigtime.
I am so glad he is in there now instead of McCain!
But the signs I want to wave – I kept them from an anti-war demonstration two years ago – read:
I’ve been asked by fellow Democrats and Alaska bloggers not to attend…..
fortunately, I have to work during the event, anyway.
Hi ET, My US Out of Iraq banner is approaching 20 years of age.
At this point, we have a House bill, we know it has Stupak and Eshoo.
The Senate has two bills, Reid has to reconcile that with or without help.
Then Reid has to put forth a bill for Senate vote, to pass.
Then, Senate bill and House bill go to committee, behind closed doors with fat old white guys and lots of cigar smoke and velvet cushioned upholstery, rare prime rib, cognac, and strippers.
Then, a final bill emerges sans prime rib and strippers, and returns to both chambers, for final votes in House and Senate.
Should one chamber NOT pass a vote in favor, it all goes back to square one.
Oh, and SciFi from CA and a few other Senators want to establish a commission that would be appointed and would be in charge of finding ways to cut expenses in Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.
Read, a step to abolishing them all.
They are now threatening to hold up the passage of legislation to extend our ceiling of debt or we as a nation go broke. Seems our present ceiling of debt will be passed before end of December, and we’d be considered, BROKE! As a nation.
And that would kill our credit rating, increase cost of borrowing, increase our interest on past debt.
And the Senate Sick 6 MIGHT, just MIGHT, be willing to let that extension of our ceiling of debt go, IF they get to bring the establishment of that Commission, into the HCR debate and attach it to a final HCR Senate Bill!!!
Some argue this demand by the Sicko 6 could be traded to drop Stupak in the House bill, come committee time.
What a trade off! Drop Stupak, and keep the mechanism to dismantle SS, Medicare and Medicaid! Commission my a*%!
The stoopid, teh crazed and teh crazy never seems to stop.
That’s all I got. Been a wierd day in life, teh toobz, and politics.
Oh, and Obama rejected 4 of 5 proposals to up the ante troop wise in AfPak, and everyone is spinning as to what it means.
I got my Merlot, I’m warm, and my honey loves me.
So far, so good.
*G*
You?
You ground breaker you!!! *G*
Sounds great
I wont
Thank You
And I should add that was the time I went to jail for justice.
Wow, yer prog non personna grata to even teh progs of AK?
What a buncha ingrates!
Sorry ya have to woik . . . I like yer signs!
Too clever by half (whatever that means)…
Yeah. If you start on the day April Glaspie told Saddam that the US didn’t want to get involved in Iraqi-Kuwaiti issues or disputes, tomorrow will be the 7,109th day of this goddam fucking insane war.
Absolutely brilliant! I’m so glad I asked. Have never heard the “Scifi” before but it’s a good fit.
But everybody in the world knows we’re already broke as a nation, especially China.
They’re not ingrates. They are very, very good people.
But most of my AK blogger friends aren’t into I-P, the bankster crisis, or are nearly as anti-war as I am. I jumped on some of them for continuing to do Palin almost every day, and haven’t been forgiven. Maybe I was wrong. I thought she would have been indicted on tax fraud by now.
They’re all mostly still fetishizing Sen. Begich, too, although Shannyn Moore has had the courage to confront him on the air and publicly.
As for my colleagues at the AK Dems, the main difference in Alaska between an establishment Democrat and a typical establishment Republican, is that though both parties want to pave the state over as soon as possible, the Democrats – bless their hearts – want to do it with union workers.
oops, oops, oops. I take it back….. with apologies.
Pleading stupidity, OK?
so, that was the first Bush-Iraq war, right? It’s so hard to keep track these days…
No problem. I was wondering why all the Brits say that after they’ve met me. *g*
Yes indeed… it’s all one long war, imo. We never left.
Backsies in action :-)
Well,as long as nobody got hurt, we destroyed all the WMDs, they now have plenty of McDonalds, and democracy is safe-I guess we can’t complain.
LMAO!! Callback!
Iraq seeks to lure tourists
Rumsfeld is running the tourism board now?
No harm no foul..
I hold you as a prog, then, them, not as much.
I value your points, and agree with you, on all of them.
That they don’t, well.
Volumes are spoken.
Best to you, them, and all of AK and the rest of us.
Times are hard, and not getting any better.
We all hope on.
The video is like something SNL would have made.
The farce is strong within you tonite, Emer-San.
Halliburton says the city has gone completely green (zone.)
and a host of ruins
Some ancient, some modern.
Much stranger than fiction, oh wise one.
I have reservations, but not as a tourist.
Past time for me to retire. Nite all you dear souls.
yeah, the most fresh of ruins in all of the Middle East for your dining pleasure, and at prices…INCOMING!!!
Could it be the 90% chance you’ll be safe?
g’nite Sunny. Fun playing with you.
Learn to duck.
Good night Sunny.
I mean really, the lady says she visited Baghdad after the Iran war and before the Gulf war. Stayed for a week and had a grand time.
The whole world has lost it’s collective mind.
I’m still lamenting, a few countries away, the Taliban in Afghan destroying the ages old Bhudda Temples.
And of course, our invasion and destruction of Iraq helped ruin so much of the history of the Cradle Of Civ it makes me sick, still. Not to mention the HUMAN loss of men, women, and children, then and now.
But aside from that.

No, I don’t work for them, I’m just a fan!
I wonder what they call Montezuma’s Revenge in Iraq?
Bless their hearts, but the tourist jokes nearly write themselves.
Well, I’m turning in.
Good night firedogs.
Ahhh, the Buddha and his kind are just a plain waste of time … touting peace and prosperity for all, like that’s ever going to be possible …

not a big bluegrass fan-but I do love “Weight” I like that version, too.
(Was trying to figure out how to link this song I found on google-without success.
Hmmm, I like that one too. Remind me to tell you the story of hitching down to the Bluegrass Festival in Fiddlers Cove, NC.
G’nite FDL.
Thanks for the plug for my song… I hope it inspires a few folks to go occupy the offices of every insurance company, drug company, and every senator & member of congress! All the best
