In addition to talking like the the Valley Girl stereotype of the 1980s (liberal use of the phrases “bogus” and “awesome” and perhaps “awesomely bogus”) Sarah Palin is big on bringing up stories straight out of your spam-folder:
Palin recalled a recent conversation with a friend about how the phrase “In God We Trust” had been moved to the edge of the new coins.
“Who calls a shot like that?” she demanded. “Who makes a decision like that?”
She added: “It’s a disturbing trend.”
Unsaid but implied was that the new Democratic White House was behind such a move to secularize the nation’s currency.
But the new coins – concerns over which apparently stemmed from an email chain letter widely circulated among conservatives – were commissioned by the Republican-led Congress in 2005 and approved by President Bush.
Whoops — somehow that’s not what Glenn Beck said. But hey, at least she’s popular:
Seventy-one percent of those questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Wednesday morning believe the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee is not qualified to be president.
It’s an old poll, but maybe when she’s on with Oprah the two of them can compare notes:
If talk show queen Oprah Winfrey ran for U.S. president against George W. Bush she would win with 65 percent of the vote, according to a survey.

The Honduran flags will remain embedded in Trig’s scalp until the Menace of Zelaya is past.
As everybody knows, it’s far more important to be popular than good.
Ask anyone.
Mornin’, pups -
Does anyone know the date that palin is supposed to be on Oprah?
I figure one of two things will happen:
1. palin pulls out of the interview (just another form of quittin’, don’ya know) with Oprah getting the blame
2. Oprah has agreed to a pre-approved list of questions
Either way, Oprah comes out smelling to high heaven.
NOVEMBER 16th: Sarah Palin will be on Oprah.
Republicans are cultists. They are pathologically incapable of recognizing faults in those who have been designated as their leaders. These are the same people who worship “Ronaldus Magnus”, a guy who got into office by “palling around with terrorists”. He sold arms to terrorists in Iran, gave the money to terrorists in South America (and admitted it on national television), cut and run from still other terrorists in Lebanon, turned America from the world’s biggest creditor to the world’s biggest debtor, began the modern era of bloated defense contracts that suck up all our money and the era of modern deregulation that led to multiple industrial and financial meltdowns and let his subordinates secretly run things behind his back. Oh, and 8 years of head-in-the-sand rhetoric on everything from AIDS to drugs.
With a resume like that, how could “I Dunno But Alaska” possibly top Dutch?
It is the other 22% that has me worried. Gun totin’, creationist
thinkingassuming, bigoted, racist, born again, fox news bobbleheads that consider violence their “god given” right and the rest of us as sinners to be sacrificed in their quest for the perfect state run by Palin and Beck. They would rather use the bullet than the ballot. A dangerous crowd not to be ignored.Good morning, pups. It’s Bobo, Cohen and Herbert today. In “The Rush to Therapy” Bobo says the well-intentioned public commentary that followed Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan’s rampage at Fort Hood denied any possibility of evil in his actions. Mr. Cohen, in “In This Together,” says the U.S. economic recovery has accentuated rather than eased inequalities, another reason why health reform is so important. Mr. Herbert, in “A Word, Mr. President,” says health care reform is important, but President Obama’s priorities should be putting Americans back to work and ending the war in Afghanistan.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got Thomas’ English muffins and your favorite jam. I see that they’re having Ed Schultz on Morning Joe. Maybe he’ll be less amenable to being interrupted than Mika… Have a great day.
The very day that NIxon (1973) authorized the Alaska pipeline.
Is Oprah trying to boost her sagging ratings or is Palin trying to raise her sagging support?
Peekin at “this day in history huh”?
Quick, turn on MSNBC, Mornin Joe is explaining why “most Americans” don’t want the health care legislation to pass.
Yep, there should be a “fuck ups in history” section
Kudos, Attaturk — that succinctly sums up Palin the public speaker, and who constitutes her core audience. Very well said.
I went in the Army 43 years ago today, add that!
Good morning everyone.
Going to a lunch where Roubini is speaking. Any Qs you want me to ask?
What is reality?
Nov 7th was my draft notice.( and the beginning of a long strange trip indeed) 44 years ago.
Roubini’s being trashed in absentia on cnbc for being wrong about the stock market.
Is that your birthday? It was my 17th.
On a note more positive than palin:
“Idaho GOP leader Hall fired as deputy prosecutor, quits national committee after stalking conviction”

Yeah, gubmint is too big but his law firm will be glad to take $600,000. off its hands. :-(((
Why is it that those in Gummint refuse to listen to economists that hold opposing views to their own suppositions?
No. I am an immigrant and that was almost 1 year after landing here.
I’ll ask him if he’s ever talked to any policy maker in this admin, and if not, why not.
That’s a fine how-do-ya do!
attaturk, you said something there that is almost definately what’s going on here;
the republicans see an email “anti liberal” “anti pelosi”, “obama’s a muslim”, email and they actually use those emails in their conversations and emails
I actually had a yelling match with one of my child hood friends who continuously sent me these emails through out the obama campaign
you hit the nail on the head, that’s what these morons in the republican party are doing
“Seventy-one percent of those questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Wednesday morning believe the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee is not qualified to be president.”
Most disturbing is that 29% think she is. I’m betting a simlar percentage don’t know where the sun goes at night.
it’s the same percentage and they know where the sun goes, god takes it and puts it in is pocket…his top right shirt pocket, it slides in slow, you can see it sliding into his shirt as he sets that sun right in that pocket
that’s why it’s called “the sun sets”
Note that “IGWT” has been restored to the face of the Presidetial coins.
Yes, But. The Annotated Atlantic.
My mother in law is a wild-eyed conservative, God bless her soul. She’s convinced all this ‘Palin trashing’ is all a democratic conspiracy, and I bet if I would bring this up she’d be hollering some gibberish about how people ‘put words in her mouth’ and ‘you never hear it when a democrat says something stupid’, etc.
And she will bring up Jimmy Carter, she always does… and that the republicans freed the slaves… and some more of that.
My wife asked for a total ban on politics, and I guess she’s right. The idea that ‘we’ or any sense of reason will change anybody’s opinion on this is an illusion. This is an emotional conflict, more like a ‘political religion’. (And, dare I say it, Cult)
Those 29% will be die-hard Palin fans for life. A video can turn up showing Palin butchering babies, and it wouldn’t change a single thing.
It scares me, seriously.
my friend said;
“the media hates sarah and always trash her”
I shut his face fast with;
“the media LOVED sarah, even democrats thought she was a quite formidable and capable politician
till the mccain made the brutal mistake of letting her talk without a script, till they let her do even a friendly interview”
then I went on and broke his heart;
“nobody, not even republicans want a moron as their vice president, the media didn’t “hate palin” they hated the fact that there was a moron who might actually be a heart beat away from running this country, we already had 8 years and even that person made palin look like a yale scholar”
he almost cried
Good Morning…just a simple question. Isn’t it about time for Ms Palin to leave the stage? Say, like Katherine Harris.
Thanks..LOL this early. (This was for 30((
Sara Pallin may be the only person on the planet who could find a ‘corner’ on a round coin.
I guess that Palin is trying to raise money to support her sagging. Good cosmetic surgery is expensive, and she’ll likely clear some good $$$ from the appearance.
