This is off point relative to this article but will be useful in the near future.

On Sunday's Nov. 8th's "60 Minutes" they ran a piece on cyber terrorism. In it a senior govt. official said that the US suffered a huge cyber terrorist attack in 2007 that managed to hack into the defense dept. and a host of other critical intelligence cyber networks. Here's the point...

The next time Cheney, his daughter or any other batshit crazy rethuglicon says that Bush and his administration kept us safe from terrorist attacks after 9/11 (but not before of course) kick them in the nuts with this fact and remind them of their convenient little oversight...

"That's a pretty broad brush you are painting with. "

Yes, that was the point. And why I said "some Muslims" and "according to those interpreters." And before you accuse me of "smearing" Islam, try Googling for Islam+democracy+tawhid, or similar combinations. It's a matter of debate within Islam to what degree "its" (painting with a broad brush again) political conceptions can be harmonized with democracy (remember, in my initial message I was even more restrained, limiting it to Western democracy. Some Muslims make it a point of pride that their faith is incompatible with democracy (see, for example, Islam, the West, and Politics, or This sermon ("there is no democracy in Islam"). Are these views typical of Islam? Probably only given a certain interpretation of "democracy," but they are probably one legitimate interpretation of the tawhid concept that continues to influence a considerable number of Muslims to one degree or another. Other Muslims are searching for a legitimate rapproachment with democracy, searching for a way to reinterpret the Islamic experience in a way that allows for democratic government, but it remains a stumbling block, or if you prefer, a matter for serious debate within the community.

Yeah, that Western Democracy that's over there bombing the hell out of them, cutting up their continents, drawing borders, and dividing the spoils.. Islam is anathema to that - and they're having a hard time getting over that. secularism stuff.
That's a pretty broad brush you are painting with. Do you know about the history of the tribes and the different sects and beliefs of each? To tell you the truth, the bogey men as far as I'm concerned are these evangelical nut jobs and Israeli extremists that influence our foreign policy to the exclusion of the American public. Every single day it's something new over there. Try paying attention before you smear Islam or the Arabs. They have my sympathy. Notice I didn't smear American Jews happily living in the galut.

Careful, the "blood diamond" campaign was funded by deBeers to get the UN to protect and fund it's monopoly on the diamond market. It's a real nice racket that we all get to pay for. In fact it was DeBeer's themselves that hired assassins to kill anyone carrying diamonds out of Africa.
Diamonds are not rare.
http://www.edwardjayepstein.com/diamond/prologue.htm

Robertson also supported South American Death Squads. His Wycliff Bible Translation and Evangelical missions were used as CIA fronts during the Ronnie years.
There's a lot of info on the google, here's a taste:

He's an arrogant xenophobic ignoramus. But Pat gets all of his information straight from God. so he can't be wrong.

Maybe we could get Fred Phelps and his "church" to picket Pat Robertson. The clash of the dueling asshats would be a spectacle worth several bags of popcorn.

Given that Robinson is a total wacko, he's not entirely wrong about Islam. One of the most important claims in Islam is [em]tawhid[/em] or the unity of god, and the corresponding demand for unity in all areas of human life. That's why Western democracy is so anathema to some Muslims, because it divides human life and activity into sacred and secular realms, a totally impossible state of affairs (according to those interpreters). As some writers have said, "politics is a sacrament" in Islam, since it's in the overarching direction of all aspects of human life that religion finds its ultimate goal. So there's no dividing the secular from the sacred, or religion from politics, art, culture, and economics. The [em]ummah[/em] or sacred community is therefore not merely a "church," but a totalistic body involving the entirety of its members lives.
The modernization of Islam has had a hard time getting over this stumbling block.

His beliefs and lies can create more atheists in a day than the communists ever could in a decade.

Any country that calls them selves a Christian nation that has the following economic, political and military agendas is hypocrisy at its greatest.

Mega profits off the sick and needy.

Pre-existing medical conditions to enhance profits for the few.

Wars for corp. profits decade after decade.

Mega military budget
Mega industrial military complex

Telling young children they may spend eternity in hellfire

Congress ran by corp America

Prisons overflowing; then prisons for profits

One out of seven children on food stamps

One per cent of the population with more wealth than the bottom 95%

Survival of the fittest economic theology called capitalism.

Rampant materialism

Etc.

Christianity died on the cross in America.

Five weeks man, Five weeks. I'm still fighting the damn thing.
I was in bed all weekend and finally copped a fever Sunday night that left me drenched and kept me up until five in the morning, just so I could get up and go to work.
