So we now hear that Joe Lieberman wants some hearings on the Committee he for some reason is going to be allowed to Chair in order to single out Muslim-Americans as being dangerous America-haters. All together now, A-W-E-S-O-M-E. Good job Harry Reid, he’s with you on everything except constant douchebaggery.
It only figures, because, last week we noticed that Joe Lieberman’s fellow anti-Public Option tools were engaging in a display that says a lot about them all:
A few steps farther was the guy holding a sign announcing “Obama takes his orders from the Rothchilds” [sic], accusing Obama of being part of a Jewish plot to introduce the antichrist.
These must have been awesome when paired with these:
But the best of Bachmann’s recruits were a few rows into the crowd, holding aloft a pair of 5-by-8-foot banners proclaiming “National Socialist Healthcare, Dachau, Germany, 1945.” Both banners showed close-up photographs of Holocaust victims, many of them children.
This whole panorama is only missing a few more hours of blaring Lee Greenwood.

About Firedoglake
Right, he’s a pawn of the Jews, and he’s just like Hitler!
It’s kind of like how he’s a communist who loves czars.
I also noticed that joe’s BFF, lindsey, pronounced the House HCR bill “dead on arrival” in the Senate. Have no doubt that joe will side with lindsey and against the American people when it comes to HCR.
As for joe’s egregious fuckery as Chair of the HLS Commitee, there are no words to accurately express the depth of my contempt for the slimy maggot.
Thank you for the post, Attaturk and good morning all.
Uh, what’s with the pop-up ads that you cannot close? I can’t read the damn post!
Think you might have a bit of a malware problem, Raven. That’s not FDL for sure.
If your existing resources can’t help, try the free Lavasoft AdAware.
And thanks for the gumball, Connecticut.
On a MAC??
I’m having the same problem as Raven, on a Mac. The ad won’t close and it’s blocking the text. If they don’t stop these damned ads I won’t be able to read FDL anymore.
I can’t read the post.
I’ve had that problem as well, while on a mac, and have had some success by either refreshing — sometimes repeatedly — or clicking to the link and going to the article itself.
Well Westin Hotels has now made sure that they will never get any of my business ever again.
I switched to Safari from FF and it seems to have stopped.
I’m on a PC with Firefox and it is doing it to me as well. Can’t read post.
Looks like a Firefox issue???
My computer guru suggests SpyBot Search & Destroy, which is a free download.
I’m running XP Professional and Firefox, no trouble here at all.
I’m a mac.
You would think that by now Lieberman wouldn’t have any surprises left in him but he still manages to come up with something new. If he can’t be counted on doing anything useful why hasn’t he been stripped of his chairmanship by now?
I don’t much care for Lee Greenwoods politics but his signature song is nice.
Good morning, pups. It’s [sigh] The Pasty Little Putz and Prof. Krugman today. In “Life After the End of History” the Pasty Little Putz says the only thing that may be more frightening than the possibility of annihilation is the possibility that our society could coast on forever as it is. Well, that and the idea that he’ll keep appearing on the NYT op-ed page forever… Prof. Krugman says “Paranoia Strikes Deep,” and that if the G.O.P. essentially shrinks down to a rump party across America, the country could become ungovernable in the midst of a continuing economic disaster.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and the biscuits are out of the oven. It’s a nice warm (62° now) morning, so I’m going to head out to the garden. After I have my second cup of tea I’ve got to police up all the feathers from where a hawk got a pigeon the other day. Have a great day.
The only thing I can think of is that he’s got some FEROCIOUS blackmail material on Harry Reid… Or, well, there’s always the fact that Reid can always be relied upon to fold up like a cheap card table.
Morning all.
So Liarman’s last hearing was to determine the existence of a “problem with the president having to many Czars”. Now, despite the fears of General Casey and General Colin Powell that we there might be a backlash against Muslims, the twirp is going to have hearings about a possible threat from muslims.
Morning all . Same thing on my Mac and if you refresh, another ad pops up in text.
I’m on a PC – no problems this AM but yesterday afternoon, while trying to read the Salon book review, I kept getting internal server error messages and eventually gave up trying to get in.
Something tells me if President Obama is assassinated Joe Lieberman would have something to do with it and ole Joe would be the first to hold a press conference to tell us “how sorry he is to hear the news”.
I hate Joe Lieberman with every ounce of my being. The man is a conservative, meaning, he’s dangerous to the sanctity of our nation and it’s people.
PC, Vista, Firefox (with AdBlocker, shh, don’t tell!) and no problems at all. (Oops, now scrolling back to the top of the post I see “question site survey” is covering some of the text I already read, instead of being in the column to the right…)
Good morning, Attaturk. Joe is the gift that just keeps on giving, that is, if you like uncontrollable nausea and diarrhea from food poisoning.
There were server problems during the book salon.
I had to refresh to get rid of the ad that rested over most of the post.
Here’s what the whole post says for those who can’t read it thanks to the ad:
Mac users should switch to Firefox and install the free Adblock Plus plugin. No ads! I seem to recall that there is a version for Safari, but I’m not sure.
Woman on WJ from Connecticut called in and referred to Liarman as Sen. Aetna.
PC with firefox here, can’t read the post. It’s an ad. This doesn’t happen on any other websites, it’s never happened before on this one. So the problem is with the advertising here at the Lake.
Macs rarely have malware. I think you need Adblock Plus. I am on a Mac and I see no ads anywhere on the page. The right column is empty and nothing blocks the post.
I think that image is not a popup, but rather the ad that is supposed to be at the top of all the stuff in the righthand column.
I blame Joe Lieberman for this crafty bit of computer hackery. I don’t know how he did it, but I’m sure Dan Gerstein will be able to tell us.
I wonder if ct as a whole hates joe as much as we do, I wonder if lamont is willing to give it another go
but here’s the haymaker;
I wonder if the republicans are going to primary joe this time
didn’t both rush and hannity endorse liberman for the senate seat?
how on earth could the democrats not know he’s a republican if hannity endorses the man?
Lamont’s running for gov.
It’s the WordPress style sheet that’s fucking up the layout of the page. Someone’s broken it. It appears the same way using firefox, a close adherent to standards, on Windows XP and Mac OS.
Ever since the redesign there have been issues with this website.
Appears at the moment that the ad display problem may be browser-specific.
The problem doesn’t appear with Chrome on a Vista system, but does with Firefox on same machine.
Going to check IE now. The graphic now appears on the right so that less of the text of the post is covered.
Wonder if liarman is going to spend more time in Conn or AZ in the coming year as his bud runs for Senate
Okay, looks like it may be fixed; need to hear from any Mac OS/Safari readers as I don’t have one of those machines handy to test the display.
Please also refresh if you had the problem and are on Firefox. The problem appears to have been fixed based on what I see in Chrome, Firefox, IE on a Vista machine; will check from an XP machine in a sec.
And if you see it in Win 7, you lucky dog you…can’t wait to upgrade this Vista machine to Win 7. But do leave word here if you see the problem or not.
Thanks!
I’m using an olde version of Firefox on a Beige G3 running Jaguar and it’s displaying properly again. Someone must’ve fixed the stylesheet.
Oh man, I love that woman from Connecticut! :-)
What can we DO about this slimeball?
Ted Kennedy Jr. 2012
Jane’s gonna be on democracynow this morning.
It has always worked correctly in safari this morning
Imagine the damage done between now and 2012.
Maybe we should show up in front of Lieberman’s offices with a sign similar to the one that appeared at Bachmann’s rally recently with the words, “Mr. Aetna’s Health Care for all Americans”?
We need a concerted effort to our dem senators to strip him of his committee seats.
That depends on what version of Safari you’ve got.
Thanks, alank and Raven. If anybody else is having a problem, please leave info in comments so mods can see it — need browser and OS you’re using since it may be dependent on one or the other.
No problems with my old clunker. Windows, Explorer.
Morning Swim is up…
Another Mac and Safari, no problems.
This is all even funnier because of all the establishment Dems who supported HoJo over Lamont in 2006. Obama was one of them, I believe as well as both Clintons and a goodly number of otherwise fairly progressive senators.
Guess they got what they paid for…
