shine a light on me. lordy.
zed?
yup! How ya doing Mary and ES??
Good evening
Well hey stranger.. thought maybe you went out and opened a lemonade stand or something..)
hell o nahant and ES. I am loving the music tonight.
I’m in the mood for a whole lot of peaceful resistance.
yep. count me in.
Spent the day canoeing underneath and all around bald eagles… and I heard the old river spirit say, RESIST Eureka, resist!
Nah just been Lurking and have been hitting the hay early lately….
ES !
Honestly, peaceful resistance is the only way to guarantee success for the cause.
Thinking of changing my voter registration to Socialist… and sending a copy to every progressive in the US House.
Only took a few million who did that to wake up Dems during FDR years.
Love Shine A Light!
Hi Margot… glad you liked it too…)
Me, too. Fatigue has set in.
Daylight expenditures always set me back for a week or so.
Politicians today rely on focus groups and clever phrasing. The single most effective way to counter them is continued, peaceful presence where they can’t ignore us.
I am trying really hard to stay up but it is not working. I am going to say goodnight.
As usual I agree with Ian. We have to draw clear lines and hold to them… while doing what you suggest. Either that or draw extreme lines far left of any compromise position.
nite mary
Nite Mary. Sweet dreams.
Ian has been incredibly accurate over the past few years [that's how long I've been reading his posts]
I’m thinking of doing the same thing.
Won’t mean anything except (even more) disapproving glances from the poll worker ladies, one of whom seemed delighted to tell me that they don’t have paper ballots at polling places anymore! Nosiree bob!
(She took it very personally in 2004 when I asked about the Diebold machines.)
Goodnight Mary;)
You know how hard it is to put on a tiny baby’s sock?
I always think of that when I try to push back against someone or some argument and get either no response or a very mushy, muddled one.
We still have a choice paper or machine in our polling place.
Think next time I will ask… How does one write in Bozo the Clown on a diebold machine? /s
I know it’s kind of a joke to bring up the machines, but I gotta ask. Am I “radical, or WAY OUT THERE” in wondering if, for real the fucking vote counting machines are rigged?
Cause I gotta be honest. I truly, no bullshit, think they are. So does that make me a “conspiracy theorist”?
Just wondering, because usually I don’t buy into most of the big conspiracy theories. But damn, I swear, I’m really beginning to wonder about the vote counting machines. Just wondering if I’m the only one.
By writing it on the bottom of one’s boot and putting it through the screen.
But that’s not necessarily peaceful.
;>)
Perhaps. But it IS effective!!! lol.
Well, imagining myself doing that was satisfying in a peaceful sort of way…)
Yo ES!
Wassup . .
Kings start off sounding like it’s Uncle John’s Band!
Heathen’s got a lot of gits, doin the rockablues, but that boy with the resonator is holding and playing that dobro ALL wrong!!!
*G*
Ever hear of a place in Georgia somewhere, called Everett’s Barn?
Saturday night stage, local bands, gone on for decades and more.
Only one Everett brother still alive, I believe. They built it, to DO free shows (donations at door).
A legend for bluegrass and newgrass and other bands in that region.
All acoustic, no amps.
A band called Barn Rats plays there. Awesome banjo player, Jody.
Just names from a hat, to you, ya never know . . *G*
We know that there are a hell of a lot of conspiracies. History if full of them. So, lots of conspiracy theorists are correct. My problem is figuring out which ones. (I also suspect that a lot of voting machines are rigged, but I have no idea what percentage and/or which ones.)
So I make it a point to be kind to conspiracy theorists and treat them with respect and an open mind. Somehow I feel that doing so invokes good kharma. OTOH, it annoys the heck out of my wife.
I thought he had a funny way of handling it… But hey, when a song works… it works..)
I thought you were a Cal-eye-fornian… when did you travel the back barns of Georgia?
In my bloggin at bluegrass chat rooms!
*G*
Electronic voting machines are a black box into which you cannot see. Whatever you see on a computer screen is one thing and whatever you see on a printed paper tape is another thing and what is on a computer chip remains forever unknown to the voter.
Sadly it’s even worse than that. Consider electronic voting machines and the proper accumulation of their numbers into a database. Then consider that database when connected to the Internet. If hackers break into everything, then why not at least consider that they and political insiders who want certain results might break into a computer database attached to the Internet to borrow or fudge the numbers.
Then finally, consider this, the main IT guy the Republicans employed last election to route all the Ohio information through the TN computer system the Repubs rented ‘accidentally’ died in an airplane crash after revealing to the world that he had been subpoenaed to testify about his work.
See BradBlog.com for great stories the MSM never reported, covered or even sneered at.
Now if it’s a soft shoe, the effect is somewhat muted.
;>)
Roy Rogers With ONE Kinda Resonator, N Bless Norton, Sigh, RIP
St. Mike Auldridge, Playin The RIGHT Dobro!
Now that plane crash should have pierced any non conspiracists shell.
Sabotaging Democracy is a petty pathetic attempt to achieve through criminal behavior that which cannot be achieved through military means, commercial superiority or even intellectual ‘combat’. It’s the cowards way. Fortunately the benefits of Democracy have been shown and most people have chosen to accept, embrace and utilize (at least most of) it’s features to improve their societies.
People around the world who have suffered from this Great Recession may dislike America for having spawned it, they realize a Democracy can adjust and improve and ‘get back on track’ and they haven’t rejected our political or economic system over one down-turn.
Now if we can only convince Californians to fully embrace ‘majority rule’ and get on with fixing their problems.
I don’t think there’s any way Obama got only 53% of the vote. The thugs simply couldn’t rig every machine that time. But Bush didn’t win either time (legally).
ES, if they noticed this story the MSM refuses to tell.
Nite all.
One Last St. Mike, Stompin! DarkBlack, Thinkin Of Le Zhazzz!
Oh no… the Jimmy leg.
Nice work on that reso. Those young folks’ll go far if they keep that up.
;>)
‘night, FDL.
