Canukacrat.
I assure you, it was in a very good cause.
Edit: well, not just you…
Maybe everyone ran off to see if they could find the Carrie Prejean video. It’s important to support family values, dontcha know?

Jayt ! John Lee Hooker is in da House !
I’ve thought of you many a time, whenever I read an article about El Niño. You be careful, sweets, and stay dry and warm!
*blowing a kiss.* Thank you.
I’m living in mountains of leaves screaming, “rake me!” And I’m too old to do this now.
I love me some John Lee Hooker!
It’s too nippy for Belgian Brew, LL … care for some Cognac or Bailey’s ?
Petro! Can’t go wrong with The Hook.
Jeebus, who are those novices backing him up ? *g*
Some Bailey’s would do quite nicely, and thank you ((( Petro )))
I will ! *mwaah*
Agreed! How are you LL?
Dunno, they look like scrubs to me ;-)
Hi CE! Doing well, thank you — how about you, MrCE and MsCE?
don’t think that any of those guys ever amounted to much. *g*
I hear that! Hi Chris, ES, Petro, Laura, LL, everyone.
MsCE lives in Brooklyn working in the costume collection collaboration they brokered at the Met. MrCE’s book, Dissection, just made top ten Science books of 2009 on Amazon. Bragging, but pretty cool. Me, meh, not so much.
Margot, dear
What a week for Ohio. Boy oh boy, did the elections suck or what?
*waving g’nite.* 2 hours at the dojo has made me a tired firedog. Be well all–I’m not around much, but I think of you v. often–you’re in my heart.
You know those session guys — they come, they go, a dime a dozen ;-)
((Margot))
oh, wait a minute – at least one of those guys learned to play a little bit.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmEBTUbaWjA

*Pouring Bailey’s with Mint Chocolate for LL and anyone else*
Sweetie Dahling! I watched your vids the other night on my new internet connection. Nice, really nice.
G’night Laura, sleep well!
Hey Margot! :-)
CE, that’s nice about MsCE and MrCE — brag away! ;-)
Betcha the one who looks like Jeebus will never, ever get a single hit … *g*
{{{ Laura }}}
Hiya Margot !

I’ll go a little old school with this one
One of my faves … thanks !
Holy crapazotties! Is that LoudounLib?
Hi, my name’s Ron Wood, would you like a gin martini?
‘Tis! Hi (((( mary ))))
We want our boobs back! Give us back our boobs!!!!
Oh mary, I love crapazotties! And Hi! LL again.
It must be old home week. I just had dinner with a friend I haven’t seen since we were juniors in high school in Metairie. Turns out she lives 30 minutes from me in Cali.
contrary to popular belief, Lightnin’s good for you. *g*
Oooh lovely… *clink*
Mr. Ray Charles … Hit The Road, Jack
I’ll take one – b-day was yesterday – but was all kindsa busy, and the Ft Hood thing, and a hearing this morning in the middle of the night (8:30 A.M.).
Had to postpone a bit.
What? Just a quickie, is it?
You Canuckistanians.
My wife’s Scotian.
I love her, and Scotia.
And all of Canada.
We may end up up there.
I wear a chef’s toque, well.
*G*
True dat *g*
And Petro, you can’t go wrong with Brother Ray…
Oh! Happy Birthday jayt — I do love to read you here (you are so damn smart).
I laughed out loud about little Miss Priss getting caught…..but she got to keep her boobs and got her attorney fees paid, so it’s all good in FamilyValuesLand. God love ‘em.
Da Hook!
Livin in Bay Area, in da 70’s I saw John Lee with Commander Cody And Lost Planet Airmen, more than a dozen times, as dual billings in a variety of Berkeley and SF haunts.
Never ceased to amaze me, either one of them.
Eventually, that Clapton kid figured out that his true calling was covering blues stuff. seriously.
And he pretty much knows who to play with, too.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WDmMWF83×4&feature=related
dude… i missed the party…
Nova Scotia could use some of your great Soups about now …
The Commitments on now on FoxM. I love this movie!
Happy Birthday, Jayt !
Tragedy at Fort Hood … our bravest are made to endure too much trauma.
Happy belated b’day, and I read earlier in the threads that your son was on leave from Ft Hood — very happy for you both.
Why, yes, now that you mention it!
In fact, ya take some fine chocolate, some fine cognac, some Bailey’s, some espresso, some peppermint schnapps, and mix it all up, top it with some mini marshmellows, and you got yerself a winter drink worthy of beating off the consumption and the devil’s own virisiiiiiiiii’s . . .
*G*
around here, Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds used to show up pretty much every summer.
One year, it would be “Nick Lowe and Rockpile” – the next year it would be “Dave Edmunds and Rockpile”, etc.
Aye Caramba … I might not wake up all Winter …
Hi Chris!
It’s Gonna Work Out Fine
Best to your son — I did not know that he was stationed at Ft. Hood. Hope all is well.
Yeah. Had IT!
Had IT!
And did it.
As much as I like Robert Johnson for the source, Lightning is unduly under worshipped.
He was the hoss. He was the source.
All others followed Hopkins, and Johnson.
he got home the day before the shootings.
That was my birthday present.
It was, indeed. Kisses for you both.
Clinkin one to you Jay . .
Bombay, lil white vermouth, shaken, strained.
One green olive, one white grunion.

My soups are for all, hoss, and thank you for the kudo . . .
As always, I bow to yer wow!

I give up, what’s a lime olive?
Thanks Larue! It’s rare when I can get by here, but it’s fun when I’m able to ;-)
Ha! A great big olive, with a bit of lime stuffed inside. I’m saving it for tomorrow (it has a brand name of Tanqueray lime olives.

Now Tangueray Gin is v. good Gin !
Hey Larue, do you have a fave Chocolate Martini recipe ?
Good night all, it’s way too late here in the east — leaving with a little Doc Watson …great to see you all!
Ok, here’s one I’ve never seen.
I’d Rather Be A Blind Girl
Alexis Corner, With The Stones.
I have NO idea who the woman lead is, but she’s gorgeous and her voice is purely captivating.
Alexis Corner shows up at about 3:51 or so.
For those what don’t know, Alexis Corner birthed about every english rocker and blues kat and kitty.
From Clapton to Mic Fleetwood, Christine McVie, and SO many others, only John Mayall might come close to birthing so many greats.
But Alexis Corner, he was first, and the Beatles and The Stones and everyone else, came from him, one way or another.
A cat much underrated, in history.
Give him his due, he was THE hoss.
And lord, that woman sangin lead here is incredible, and I have NO clue who she is.
Music, ain’t it grand, no matter who it is.
nite LL – it’s pretty much 3 in the moanin’ here too.
got to wind it down;
Billy and the Beaters – I used to see these guys about once a month in L.A.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nRaJvn0eow
I wish someone had caught Chuck e. Weiss and the Goddamned Liars on film for later YouTube use, but whaddya gonna do….
Sounds tasty!
Wow! Insane!
Like The Beatles Did Hamburg!
Dang, that’s special!
Nice hit, Jay!
Nope!
I’m so old school, the dinosaurs call me Gramps!
*G*
Carrie Prejean is a Lens-bian.
One of the first Doc songs I fell in love with.
Me and two buds who actually PLAYED music, would sing this for a few years in our escapades in the Sierra Nevada, for kids we were helping lead into the mountains.
Great, great pick LL.
Doc is one of my favs of all time, likely my biggest fav of all, be it electric or acoustic.
I heart. Doc. Watson.
And Omie Wise.
Wow.
IGBOBLAB.
Nice pick LL.
no real vid to speak of – just Gram Parsons and Emmylou:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2LtJ7AKUrc&feature=related
N with the strains of Omie Wise in my ears and my brains, I bid pups adieu.
Thanks for your time, and temper.
As Dave Hassinger, producer of The Stones long ago once said.
“It’s a gas.”
*G*
nite, Larue
(Late as usual:) Hey all! Anyone got a link to any good analysis on this new poison pill floor amendment thingie on the HCR bill? ‘Fraid it’s gonna be an ugly day tomorrow.
The Yardbird’s from Antonioni’s Blow Up always give me a smile. Eric Idle is in the moribund crowd. I wonder if there are others?
Well – it’s entirely possible that i’m the only one left at my b-day party.
no matter – I’ll just keep entertaining myself.
“Love Hurts”
(NOT BY NAZARETH) (fuckers ruined the song).
originally done by gram parsons and emmylou – this version by emmylou and Elvis Costello is damned fine.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojsVB7idTLw
Here is a start.
ummm – I thought that we were all celebrating my birthday – and here you are handing out substantive information and stuff.
harummphhh.

Yes, substantive and disappointing.
Nothing like reality to break up he rhythm of Late Late Night.
Never fear – I’m back with the rhythm – maybe.

Jeez, I go away for a few and Stupak drops the pill.
There are times to primary someone from your own party, and if need be, there are times to send a message, seek political retribution.
I’m just sayin…
try that again
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GBO36wkGsc
I’ll check it before I roll out – which will be in about two minutes.
Johnette Napalitano talking, singing, and explaining the song “Tomorrow, Wendy”.
I’m gonna watch it again.

nite, all, and thanks.

no need to encourage ulcers and anger before i hit the sack
WaPo story here: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/capitol-briefing/2009/11/democrats_to_resolve_abortion.html?hpid=topnews
Good morning, pups. It’s Collins, Blow and Herbert today. Ms. Collins has a suggestion about the “Weekend Sports Lineup” — she says if the House health care vote happens this weekend, perhaps you will want to flip back and forth between the football games. Mr. Blow, in “Obama’s to Fix,” says the financial crisis may have begun on George W. Bush’s watch, but the lack of jobs is now President Obama’s problem, and he needs to act quickly to solve it. In “Stress Beyond Belief” Mr. Herbert says that sending service members on numerous combat tours exacts a horrendous price on their mental health and the readiness of our armed forces.
Here they are.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got French toast made from challah and a hint of cinnamon. Today is shaping up to be one of those “fixit” days, with lots of little chores like replacing the porch lightbulbs and fixing that toilet that needs a new valve. I’m just hoping that what usually happens — finding all the OTHER little things that need fussing over — doesn’t. It’s supposed to be a lovely day, and I’d like to be able to spend some of it just lolling around and enjoying it. Have a great day.
good morning marion. thanks for the hot chocolate. i’m almost ready to make some coffee. a fixit day sounds like what i need to do here too.
