MSNBC is calling the Virginia Governor’s race for the Republican, Bob McDonnell. This is not surprise.
The polls are closing in NJ and ME at this hour. New Jersey Governor is reported “too close to call”–also not a surprise at this stage of the evening.
More on all this soon.

What’s with all these ugly 6-pack abs ads on lefty blogs?
Keith mentions CA-10!
Nothing about it on the TPM scorecard.
**Teddy**
It’s the economy, STUPID!!!!
Have the teevee on, completely missed it! Hope he goes back to it. Lord knows I’ve blasted him and Rachel with links all day today, every time I found an article about it.
Also, the DCCC mentioned my Seminal article in an email blast today in which they pointed out that the last time a Democrat held NY23 but the last time a GOP held CA10 was 1996!
Eye of the beholder, lady. *g*
I always get excited on election nights – even in off years. I’m on pins and needles about the marriage equality results in Maine.
Hello peeples!
Run away from the base and the base will run away from you, Mr Deeds.
Deeds’ support collapsed when he said he’d opt-out of the public option, two weeks ago. And he ran a horrible campaign, pinning everything on McDonnell’s stupid 20-year old thesis at Pat Robertson University.
Virginia ALWAYS elects a governor of the opposite party of the president elected the year before, or at least as done so since the alignment of the modern parties after the desegregation and civil rights upheavals of the sixties and seventies.
ALWAYS
Wash, Rinse, Repeat. Let that be a warning to all Dems, and/or DINO’s.
I’m only perturbed by the unauthorized use of my self image…
Deeds woke up this morning and said, Shit, should have campaigned like a democrat.
TEDDY…listen.
Nate Silver was calling Question 1 a 2-to-5 underdog. Hope he’s right.
I can’t find the exact quote, or attribution, but didn’t some pol once remark along the lines of “In Politics your ears are more useful than your mouth.”
This tone deafness just doe not pay.
Deeds, Big Media, and conserva-Dems will blame it on the Left. Count on it.
Hi rf! Me too.
I’m sure you’re right. We’re already hearing how the low black turn-out is a huge factor.
A little proof that marriage equality can survive a ballot challenge will go a long way.
The rightwing is 30 for 30 at the ballot box; it would be GREAT to break their streak.
Yep, a reversal in that trend is long overdue.
David Dayen is upstairs!
