With our former Feckless Leader now re-emerging to help sell Amway-like products, perhaps it’s time to revisit those halcyon days when we were told “The Shrub” bestrode the narrow world like a colossus, a “colossus ass”.
Remember when it was revealed that the Bush Administration paid nearly $250k to Armstrong Williams to spread education propaganda about “no child left behind”?
Well, one would think Armstrong would take his money and hide in shame…but instead he decided to hide where right-wingers always do, the Moonie Times.
Well all that Education Department money went to good use, Armstrong sure can write some awful columns. But no matter how it reads now, it said it all when it was put up yesterday and left unchanged for several hours:

I’m going to say apparently not.

“Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our pundits learning?”
What is subject/verb agreement, Alex?
It all depends on what ‘is’ is.
Ha, Ha, Ha.
Good morning everyone.
Everyone who? There’s nobody here!
A few months ago my sister received a letter from the company she works for inviting her (requiring her) to attend a motivational seminar given by a bunch of Bush cohorts. Included in the line-up was Laura Bush. She would have had to travel a few hours to attend. Well, people must have complained (or it was canceled due to lack of interest) because the requirement was rescinded. It seems that Georgie, himself, has now joined the troupe.
Good morning everyone (especially Raven). I is awake.
Morning all. I don’t know whether to laugh or succumb to the pain.
Snow update: Had 18″ when I went to bed last night and it was still coming down. To dark to assess this am. Satellite dish was buried as of 10 am yesterday.
Wow! But at least you still have electricity & internet. Seems like a day to cocoon until the roads are clear.
Yes. Will finish last unread book this am. Then shovel driveway
Do you have a snowblower or do you shovel by hand? How big a driveway? Are any ski area open?
Good morning, pups. Gail Collins is off today, so Mr. Kristof is flying solo. In “More Schools, Not Troops” he says a compelling argument against more troops in Afghanistan rests on this trade-off: For the cost of an additional soldier stationed in Afghanistan for a year, nearly 20 schools could be built.
Here he is.
The coffee and tea are ready, I’ve got a pitcher of hot chocolate for foothillsmike, and Thomas’ English muffins with your favorite jam. How long do you think it will be before Rush, Jonah, Michelle or one of the idiots at Clownhall decides to berate Pres. Obama for going to Dover to honor the fallen troops? I can hear the squeals of “grandstanding” now… Have a great day.
20 schools, or how many lives saved with medical insurance?
Oh, I forgot, we can’t afford schools & medical care. Spit.
Personally, I thought it was long overdue. And let me add that photo touched me.
…our former Feckless Leader now re-emerging to help sell Amway-like products, …
How does he keep getting these jobs he’s not qualified for?
Ski areas have been open for about a month now. Use a hand shovel to remove snow. Need the exercise.
Said he has been cleaning up dog poop.
Were they going to be forced/”required” to pay their own travel costs or was the company going to pick up the tab for that?
Because I have the day off (yay!) I’m subjecting myself to Morning Joe and he’s already reminded us that W used to meet with families privately “all the time.” The subtext seemed to be that Obama was grandstanding.
Or they’ll accuse him of going just to use it as an excuse not to give their precious generals every lit’ ol’ soldier their hearts desire. :-(
edit: And FORK! scar and his crew of twits!
My digestion is much better taking my morning joe without Morning Joe.
Morning all, I’d like to stay and chat, but I hear my kids singing and playing tambourine instead of getting dressed. While I find that a pretty healthy activity, I don’t think the school bus is going to come any later than usual.
As far as Mika is concerned, I cannot imaging voluntarily staying in a job where I was openly mocked on such a regular basis. Me? I’d slap Joe’s lips off…
G’mornin, puppies! I wrote a pissy email to Richard Lugar (one of my two senators, the other being the execrable Evan Bayh), pointing out that he (Lugar) has Medicare, but is against the public option for his constituents. I received a long form letter, as expected, that freely translated says “It’s too expensive to give citizens health care” and the subtext is “Let them eat cake.”
I would be tempted to write back, but it would be a waste of electrons. Grrr.
Talking about texting while driving on WJ. I just can’t imagine how moronic someone must be to do that. Having said that, I once rode with a niece with an iphone & she tried to look something up while driving. I politely requested she stop, which she did. Otherwise I would have grabbed the phone & thrown it out the window. As I said, moronic. She’s not a good driver under ordinary circumstances.
Marion @ 23 -
That still going on? Gag! Thought she would have kissed up to scar enough by now so he’d keep that behavior under control…not nice kicking your very own lap dog.
Gonna pull a “Raven” and head on out to the local coffee shop to see what *that* morning crew is up to. Y’all have a good one.
Oh, so he finally got around to reading Three Cups of Tea .
‘Bout time
Morning, Dawgs.
Mika’s as bad as the rest of them, in a concern troll sort of way.
She made a speech last night at a breast cancer dinner and they were all mocking her inappropriately revealing low cut pink dress. Barnacle even went so far as to suggest (with a snicker) that she should wear it on the show.
God! He just did it again! Unbelievable!
Morning Swim is upstairs…
BUT the title on the page is still “Is” so no, our pundits ‘is’ NOT learning and ‘is’ not web savvy.
Thanks Attaturk!
