While impressions of Obama’s professional performance are mixed, the same can’t be said of the Republican Party at large. Put simply, the GOP’s brand is still a mess. According to the poll, just 25% have a positive opinion of the party (compared with 42% for the Dem Party), which ties the GOP’s low-water mark in the survey and which is a worse score than it ever had during the Bush presidency.
And the Teabaggers’ GILF didn’t fare much better in another new poll.
More than seven in 10 Americans think Sarah Palin is not qualified to be president, according to a new national poll. Seventy-one percent of those questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Wednesday morning believe the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee is not qualified to be president, with 29 percent saying she does have the credentials to serve in the White House.
The CNN poll found that Huckleberry is leading the GOP’s 2012 presidential pack, followed by the ‘Cuda, with Willard placing third.
Willard really must be thinking at this point: how can I still be losing to these yahoos?

Let’s hope that conservative Americans, indeed REAL AMERICANS, ignore this liberal claptrap and continue to fight for what they believe is correct.
Heh. Latest GOP story: SC Assistant Attorney General stopped in cemetery with exotic dancer.
[Hey, at least she was alive. And human. That should count for something in South Carolina.]
Yeah, since 70% of Americans think Palin’s an underqualified lightweight, and 75% of Americans think the GOP sucks, guess there’s not many REAL AMERICANS left.
Without Sarah, what would we do for Halloween Costumes?
It’s an MSNBC poll, I’m sure they asked the questions in an Olbermannic way.
Keep alienating everyone with your ignorance and bigotry, schweetheart. Seems to be working out well for you…NOT!
Or NBC (just as bad to Real Americans).
Yes, all polls are librul claptrap.
The real problem in this is the twenty nine percent that do think She’s qualified.
This group isn’t conserative, but conservastupid.
Reality and facts are usually libral claptrap
And I bet you blame America first….
I used to think Willard was a funny name for a guy running for president. Now, not so sure if that ceiling’s been cracked.
That’s because reality has a liberal bias.
Sorry, GOP or not, I can’t hold that against the guy. I’m impressed. *G*
And here, folks, from marcos, we have a shining example of riechwingnuttia. If it wasn’t so pathetic it’d be funny.
Don’t drool on yer copy of Sarah’s book when you go to her book signing.
So I have to drive by here and tell you not to feed these fuckin assholes?
REAL AMERICANS love Sarah Palin and the GOP and never blame AMERICA FOR ANYTHING even though they elected the socialist communist gubmint we currently HAVE.
This group isn’t conserative, but
conservastupidclinically insane.Fixed it.
He forgot to put snark tag on his posts.
Unfortunately the democratic party seems to encompass yellow dog democrats, blue dog democrats and chicken shit democrats. No one with the exception of Grayson seems to be willing to go toe to toe with the rethugs and their inanity.
All those pages stuck together? Pretty disgusting, alright…
Amen. While I despise the GOP and the entire ring wing nutjobs, my disdain for the Democratic party is on the rise too. They’ve always had the problem of no spine, IMO, but it’s so bad now it’s pathetic.
Awww, I like givin’ it to this one. Damn.
heh heh heh
Levi Johnston has stories to tell about the Cuda.
No snark at all. I am sincere in wishing my opponents the best of luck as they continue their circular firing squad.
25% can we shrink that down to a size where we can drown it in a bathtub?
I was wondering if her book was gonna be mostly pictures….
I guess that you’re one of those suckers who believe that what you see in politics is what you get, huh?
That said, I can’t wait to see Levi’s Johnston. Let’s hope that he offers up a robust pubic option.
Forgive my ignorance but, who is Willard?
Suck on this.
Romney
The Democrats can sometimes be pretty good at organizing circular firing squads too. Maybe it’s all politicians?
I too hope they continue to “move right and back to their core principles.” That ought to work out great. Now if only we could get the Democrats to move back to their core principals. *sigh*
You make no sense at all.
So, what !
This sort of Peacock prancing is precisely where America is falling apart. There’s not a pube’s hair difference between the two corporatist parties which are equally eager to please the Oligarchy. We have neither democracy nor Democrats. There are some 50 or so progressive lawmakers, the rest are self serving damaged souls. Every time we engage in these statistical comparisons we empower the scum.
If having total majorities, the Democrat(ic) party is still not capable of implementing draconian changes (bloodless revolution) on behalf of working Americans, then I’m afraid blood will run because the American form of democracy is plainly as rigged a game as is Wall Street and the rot requires drastic measures.
I think you repeat yourself.
Back to work.
Namaste
How to build a governing progressive coalition by winning friends and influencing people.
Have a great day, SD.
Thanks! Actually he looks more like a gameshow host with that Brill Cream hair and the Colgate smile. Or perhaps it’s a sleazy used car salesmen?
Liberals and the left don’t have a circular firing squad; they all shoot the people who stand to their left. It’s like they take the Overton Window concept of boosting their “extremists” and then say “What if we did exactly the opposite?”
Agreed. However at this point in time, the conservatives are demonstrating what amateurs progressives have been at the art and science of circular firing squads. Perhaps all of those NRA meetings counted for something…
That takes ACTUAL ORGANIZING WORK, to elect good folks and then put pressure on them to keep honest. We have to do this locally, as the pressures to go off reservation are tremendous and can only be countered by mobilized constituencies.
Government on auto pilot does not go in the progressive direction.
Rommney can forget it anyway sicne the Jeebus crowd doesn’t go for those guys with 7 wives!
This time next week Bob McDonnell will be Gov Elect of Virginia and we will be looking at a very different political landscape.
Hey, don’t rule out OldFatGuy!!! I’ve got my campaign going a little late, but I’m writing myself in, and my son has pledged to write in “OldFatGuy” too!!! My numbers are on the rise!!!!!!
Yes, the election of a GOP governor in a state that always elects a governor of the opposite party of the president elected the previous year — what a trend! The GOP is certainly resurgent!
;0
True but guess which voters vote in the GOP Primaries and control the process?
The 3 of 10 Americans who do think Sarah is the Greatest! I think either the GOP splits into two parties or the GOP scares off Moderates and Young People for another election cycle with Sarah as Leader with no John McCain to restrain her this is perfect!
Jeebus crowd = monogamists who don’t monog
Willard = polygamist who doesn’t polyg (or hasn’t gotten caught at it)
i wish i could feel sorry for the mittster lagging behind huck & sarah with old hound dog fred lapping at his heels, but…i’m from michigan and he can kiss my laid off ass…
Willard has a very attractive wife but iirc she prefers horses.
Somehow I got on the McCain mailing list
Anyone want to skew his survey results?

AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Blue Texan and the Firepup Freedom Fighters:
These poll numbers just illuminate the truth of what we have been livin’ through since 1981. That truth is that America is NOT a “center-right” nation and the “Republican Party” and “Republican” politicians are irrelevant to whatever decisions or positive action is taken by our government. Witness what is happening right now when Democrats have almost super-majorities in both houses of congress and hold the White House and a majority of states either governorships or legislatures. The battles to get anything done are between DEMOCRATS or between Democrats and corporate mercenaries who mascarade as Democrats.
The greater truth of this morning’s poll numbers is that unless the leadership of the Democratic Party holds itself together and continues to hold massive public opinion numbers, unless the Democrats do what the people are callin’ ‘em out to do, we won’t have another freely elected government that is called either Republican or Democratic. What we will have is a minority government of a new corporate sponsored Orcs behind the banner of Ron Paul.
Obama knows what is at stake in every facet of politics right now and he knows that the only way he survives (and I mean this literally) is to win on every major issue beginnin’ with healthcare. Obama is engaged, whether he likes it or not, in a fight to death with the insurance industry…if he wins, the reforms of everything else from organized labor to banking re-regulation will happen by 2011. If he loses he won’t survive to 2012, and he knows that too.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION AND FOR GOD’S SAKE DON’T SHOOT THE FRIENDLIES!!
Hey BT, it’s obvious you didn’t kick in your $4.95 to hear a sage GOP prez tell ya popularity doesn’t matter.
my money is on SC being the only state that actually opts out of healthcare in the end.
Well let’s not roast our marshmallows on the burning remains of the Republican dirigible just yet. Dems are experts at snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory. If (when) they screw up this health care thing all bets are off.
When We the People discover we’re getting screwed by either party, many people will go back to voting on a couple of wedge issues.
the problem is that 25% of all Americans may just be 51% of voters in red states. Remember, the core of Dead Zone and South-eastern red states total only about 35% of the population of the Republic. To be the party of ideological purists that their leaders seem to want them to be, Rethugs don’t need a majority in the US.. they just need majorities in those two regions. Two Americas, separate and unequal, and, for the red one, probably thuggish and brutal to boot…. two bad we have to share a single highly gerrymandered Congress. Instead of rotten burroughs like they had in 19th century England (where few people lived but where parliamentary seats were still apportioned) we have rotten states – places where there are few people but with effective control of roughly half of the legislature in the upper house.
Marcos doesn’t sound like a Real American name, aren’t you one of those damn immigrants Conservatives are so fond of castigating for being parasites and polluting their genetic pool?
You sound like one of those self-loathing pretenders to the ideal of intolerant, gay hating, government should help private companies but not anyone else party, which are the Real Amercans of the Conservative party.
I guess these poll results are just a fiction, they must really hurt, huh?. I guess we shouldn’t leave out self delusion from the above list.
um, yeah, but after eight friggin long years of bush/cheney, this post is scheudenfreudilicious. I know it cheapens me, but I can’t resist.
I was thinking Kansas, Utah, and Alaska were good bets.
Citizen fuckno:
Stop with the lunatic message that “there is not a pube’s hair difference bewteen the corpoatist parties…”. If this were true there wouldn’t be pending healthcare reform and there certainly wouldn’t be a Black man in the fuckin’ White House.
We are tryin’ to break open the crack in the ruling class, the last time that happened was 1932-34 and we won’t accomplish anything by advancin’ the notion that the mass of people are stupid and irrelevent. The only people who have succeeded in the politics of division of the workin’ class are Stalinists and Mutant Ninja Naderites.
Done except for the “country first” contribution part
I skipped that too.
Nice of them to supply the write-in portions.
The poll results are irrelevant since they’re measuring the world BEFORE Palin goes to a W motivational speech — she’s gonna be Napole-ette d’Arc!
I may have to wait, but I will roast my marshmallows over the buring dirigible that is the Republican party…
Alaskans are very fond of being on the dole.
Let us not forget Texas. If the poor benefit it must be bad.
Many of them are also very poor and needy. Alaska must not opt out – those people who were starving last winter certainly can’t afford health care.
Shit, about 12″ of snow so far and really coming down.
yep.
Deadzone: MT, UT, NE, ID, WY, ND, SD, AZ, and, to some extent, CO and NV and, shared with Greater Texas, OK and KS
South: TX, LA, TN, AR, AL, MS, GA, NC, SC, VA, WV, maybe KY
Plus AK
25 states comprising 1/2 the Senate and a mere 88 million of 308 million of the population (29%).
We’re being held hostage.
Where are you? This seems early for that kind of depth.
FHM, I forget whereabouts you are?
Haha, two californians right on the snow report! LOL!
It amazes me that the powers that be in the GOP appear to be willing to drive their party right over the edge of the cliff, even though there are multiple signs that what they are doing is suicidal. What do they think their endgame is? Do they think that all of a sudden, POOF!, Americans will view their imbecilic buffoonery, their lying, their galling hypocrisy, and their total lack of ideas as somehow being attractive?
This ship of fools is on its way down and the crew is still fighting about who gets to be captain. At some point, the least conservative and ideologically pure will begin leaving the party in a bid to retain any hope of a political future. Who will be the first? With that kind of public disdain for all things GOP, it shouldn’t be too much longer, especially since Palin, Pawlenty, and Armey have turned on Dede Scozzafava, the official GOP candidate in the 23rd district in NY.
The circular firing squad continues.
West of Denver
Yep. We are a tad chilly but it’s sunny and gorgeous. Pray for rain or if you prefer, dance.
Ski lodges open yet?
Slopes have been open for about a month now.
That’s why I moved from CO to FL. The snowfall on the 4th of July up in Evergreen was the beginning of the end. I lived in hip Aurora.
Amazing. Hard for us Callies to get used to since our summer doesn’t end until the middle of October.
yeah, the snow is merely decorative here.
It sure does a fantastic job of cleaning the shit out of the air. Traffic ceases to exist.
heh, we’re hoping summer ends before Thanxgiver.
Yep, I cross countried to work. Diggin’ the VW out was too much hassle. Couldn’t get it out of the parking lot, anyhow.
You mean summer actually ends down there.
I think the coldest I have ever been in my life was coming into Miami in January after a cruise. Had no idea Florida got that cold.
Just remember Hitler suffered a number of major setbacks before he ultimately seized power. Even if the demise of the Republican party is imminent, something far uglier could rise up in its place.
I’m very wary of any premature celebration.
More or less. We have to shift to long pants and flannel shirts for a while. I have to wear a heavy coat a couple times.
Didn’t Mark Twain say something like, “The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco?”
I’d advise you to never go to any of the northern states. *g*
When I lived in SD it was 165 miles each way to work – frequently was the first set of tracks in fresh snow.
He did and it does get cold but being cold in Florida just wasn’t in my mind at all.
These people won’t go away. They’ll only entrench themselves somewhere and come back with a vengeance.
Lived in Montana for a little less than a year. Arrived in April in the middle of a snow storm. That was it for me.
Gotta slip back into work mode. heh heh
They have been doing that since the Indian slaughters and witch trials.
this is interesting;
not sure levi should have let that out of the bag, with these winguts I’m not comfortable he’s safe saying something like that
Then again it could slow down the Palins from letting shit out about him.
I just made a donation to FDL Action via Actblue to Fund Organizers in Arkansas: Dare Blanche Lincoln to Filibuster the Public Option.”
Looks like I am the 227th contributor and that the total is now $8,979.
Who wants to be number 228 and put the number over $9,000?
I remember reading about some insane German count in the 19th century who used to blow up rail bridges and wank furiously to orgasm as the trains flew off of the tracks and crashed at speed.
I think Levi already said as much about his almost MIL in a magazine article…
Marcos,
Your “wanker” argument makes about as much sense as anything. I hope that they are getting lots of self gratification as their party augers in. It is dumbfounding to watch, but it sure is entertaining. What fresh new idiocy does the GOP have in store for us next?
I dunno. Much as it makes me smile to see poll numbers like this, I keep remembering the last election. Many Repugs hated McCain and/or Palin, yet they held their noses really tight and voted for them anyway.
There’s still a sizeable minority that will cling to god, guns and the party of Saint Ronaldus Magnus no matter what. And I’ve said it before: the seniors aren’t really dying off all that fast, and they will, to person, go out and vote. And overwhelmingly, this portion of the population is totally addicted (seriously) to a steady diet of weirdo Beck (I think he has surpassed el Rusbo, but they listen to his b.s. too).
Long time ’till the next General Election. This crowd shows great staying power. I’d love to think of them as totally marginalized shrieking idiots, but whilst they are gibbering baboons (apologies to baboons), they are babbling fools that vote.
Plus there’s always the spectre (not of Arlen) of voter fraud and rigged machines, and I’m not sure if BHO can rouse the masses to get offa their lazy asses to vote again. Sigh.
I will take my hand wringing and go home now….
you don’t see a difference between conservative values and the Republican party??? Really why do you think those numbers are the way they are. The “teabaggers” mentioned in the article are not dems or Repubs they just ask for accountability.
Like the liberal John F Kennedy??? Yes he was liberal but also cut taxes and to boot inspired a nation. Is he the core of the democratic party because that is much further to the center-right than the Democratic party has moved in the last 20 years even
Cutting upper tax rates from the 90s to the 70s is not the same thing as cutting taxes from the 30s to the 20s.
These people will still have to buy health insurance even if it is a “public Option” or “competative Option” what ever miss pelosie thinks calling it today will help her. She already said that it will not add to the deficit and will just be a large pool of people who split the costs of all their collective care. no subsidy of course Lieberman doesn’t believe that and think the government could turn to the American Worker to fund the overruns from this plan. But really think about it a whole bunch of people who have not had insurance for a while and people with pre-existing conditions all join this large pool of people to “keep costs down”. So the people who havn’t had insurance will prolly use it right away and the pre-existing people, many will use more frequently than most. I really don’t think this could be a cheap option for any person rich or especially poor because of what the most likely insurance pool will be filled with. Think about it!!!! This isn’t a free health care proposal it will cost a lot. People need to understand what the actually costs of healthcare are and work on the real problem instead of listening and fighting about pointless bs
Found this statement pretty much dead on as a comment to Kucinich’s disgust with his own Party:
“The Democrats will betray us, just as they always do.
But they will put on a theatrical display of pretending they really tried hard to give us the health care that the rest of the civilized world takes for granted.
The Republicans will betray us, just as they always do.
But they will be blunt and direct in telling us that they favor big companies and don’t really give a fcuk about regular people.
Dennis and the Republicans are honest about their priorities. Democrats are liars.”
One Republican “Dope Head” thinks she would make a good President. The Obese, Dr Shopping, Cigar Smoking Russ Limbaugh. But he is stoned 2/3’s of the time so does his opinion count count anyway? What is it that Levi Johnson know on Palin that he said he knew things on her that could really, really hurt her now if he told what she did while Governor? He said this on the Early Show on on 28 Oct 2009!! Why hasn’t some investigative reporter jumped on this and found out what it is? He rode back and forth with her from Moose Droppings, AK., to the Captiol everyday and said she would say at the end of the day that she had to go home and see her retarded baby (GEE, WHAT A MOTHER!!!. He went on to say that Bristol raised her brother, just like a mother and Palin only show interest in the baby after she became VP nominee and did it for publicity stunt only.
I am a REAL AMERICAN, served my country for 25 years, how many did you? Palin wouldn’t make a pimple on a President’s Ass, every George Bush, the worst President in over a 150 years, because he allowed Rowe, Chenney, Rumsfeld and Rice run and ruin the country. Go ahead a say it you are a racists and cannot stand the fact we have a Black President now, who is trying to clean up 8 years of no government at all. Chenney ordered Bush to start the was in Iraq and regardless of who won this past election cannot clean it up in 9 months, especially when you have the Party of No against everything you are trying to get done to turn around the work force, insurance for the un-insured, rebuild the inferstructure of American and no
joe (I am a Democrat, no an Independant, no a Repubilican) coming out and just saying I will block the Public Option to stop it, even it has been shown that the Public Option will not cost the Americans anything. You are a real american, the kind we can do without!!
On Palin. You have to look on the bright side here. 65 percent of Germans in the election of 1932 didn’t think Hitler was ready for the Chancellorship either.
Easy big fella, that post you responded to was total snark.
Notice the name there and the name that’s attached to the top post?
They were just repeating right wing talking points back and forth.
Welcome to the Lake. I think you’ll like it. And lots of good vets here too. I’m one myself (US Army).
