Well, my-oh-my, Armstrong Williams and the Washington Post, a match made in Grammar Hell.

You’re morning bit of unintentional hilarity, worth at least a cool-quarter-million bucks from the Bush Administration.

Afghan plan is to protect 10 major population centers & turn the rest of the country over to Taliban. That seems likely to work, about as well as paying Karzai’s brother to keep the Khandahar region peaceful under the CIA’s paramilitaries.

Al Qaeda in Iraq kills 155 people with truck bombs. Or was it the Iraq Security Forces? Or perhaps they are the same.

Sunday’s twin suicide bombings in Baghdad that killed at least 155 people and wounded 500 others may have had help from within Iraq’s security apparatus, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow reported Monday…

Maddow quoted a comment from Brian Katulis, a Middle East expert at the Center for American Progress, who wrote, “You don’t want to do this kind of attack without having someone on the inside. It implies infiltration of the government. If there is an objective, it’s to send a message to whoever is in power that not everyone recognizes them as being in charge.”

Mornin’, BT, pups

Short Ride is Short Ride.

Harry Reid is a fool.

If, repeat if, a Senate health care reform bill makes it to a floor vote it will probably have been amended into a worthless piece of shit. Defeat on the floor. After the 2010 elections we go for single payer. Fuck Obama and anybody else who doesn’t support it then.

They never get it. I’m repeating this comment on several threads. Listening to Dallek’s Nixon & Kissinger. The way they talked about VN bears no relation to reality. Ditto Iraq. Ditto Afghanistan. Ditto Pakistan. This is a bipartisan comment. Doesn’t matter the political party. They all think the vaunted U.S. military can do it.

Yes, so he says.

At this point all I’m hoping for is for the corporatists to show their true colours, once and for all to see. No bill is better than a giveaway to the greedheads. That would give us a year and some to pump up single payer as the only acceptable “public option.”

Hubris to be sure, but they seem to be able to go out of their way to avoid genuine information. For example, B&B was published in 1969, so Nixon & Kissinger had to have avoided reading it, or reading any of the news coverage at the time. They wanted to lock up Hersh for his reporting.

So rather than Obama telling Reid not to announce the opt-out decision, or the administration would pull the rug out from under it, they elected to let him take them all out on a limb and the saw it off? The worry over getting 60 votes to avoid a debacle, smart or not, seems more likely to me.

Preferential treatment, they scream..

How ’bout those devout American Muslims ‘extremists’ being treated like despicable world terrorists because they planned to bomb a Dutch paper for it’s offense to Muhammad, yet we have a fucking honors ceremony going on in this country for all the killers and bombers of abortion care providers by devout American Cristian ‘extremists’.
In this country we don’t call those particular Christians ‘terrorists’.
In America and Israel, we don’t call Christians and Jews who participate in the cluster bombing of non-Jews ‘terrorists’. Do we?
No. Of course we don’t.
Instead, we call them “patriots”.
