Timr, why not just say that you don't want to believe that wrong things are being done and that you prefer having your fingers in your... ears?

All of these events (such as the use of electronic jamming) have been reported in reputable news outlets, although mostly in Spanish. You can find them, with links, in over 100 (!) posts on the coup at Mercury Rising.

If you don't have your fingers in your... ears, that is.

How did reporters get into the Brazilian embassy? Well, when Zelaya arrived, it was a surprise to the coup. Roughly three hundred people entered the Brazilian embassy, including reporters like Adrian Sivori of TeleSur. She stayed in the embassy until recently, when she said that the stress was damaging her health. The dictatorship refused to let any reporter replace her.

For the first days, the dictatorship did not block entry, so reporting was done fairly openly. Then the dictatorship started very nasty tactics, including throwing tear gas canisters into the embassy. A number of people, including Sivori reported symptoms such as epistaxis (bloody nose) and bloody urine.

There are still a few reporters in there, including Edgard Garrido of Reuters. To get the audio out, they use that technological marvel, the cell phone. Once they figured out how cell phones were being jammed, they removed the jammer, you see. You can even see a photo of the jamming device here.

It is a flaming falsehood that Zelaya was trying to circumvent the Constitution in any way. If you don't mind taking your fingers out of your ... ears, you can read what actually happened here, as described by a Constitutional scholar who had a front row seat on events leading up to the coup.

It is an ignorant falsehood that the US has cut off all monies. Money continues to flow, though not as much. But how long did it take for the Obama Administration to do that? Many months, whereas it was legally obligated to do so immediately. And they have done so only because the rest of the hemisphere has forced them to do so. American leadership is in the toilet, everyone who reads Spanish believes that elements of the US government covertly supported the coup, and it's a hell of a mess.

Why do people think the US may have backed the coup? Because after Zelaya was kidnapped, he was flown out through a US air base, Soto Cano (called Palmerola by Hondurans). If you can read Spanish, and are willing to encounter ideas that don't meet your preconceptions, you can read that story in Tiempo, one of Honduras's main newspapers. They interviewed the base commander, and he says it happened, even though he denies knowing about it. Our State Department very cautiously admitted that Zelaya was flown through Soto Cano.

See how wonderfully different the world looks if you are willing to listen as well as state completely ignorant opinions?

Just as an added note. If all this "jamming" is taking place then how was the reporter given the story? How did they call a pres conference? If blockaded, how did the reporters gain entrance? How is it they were then allowed to leave? Nope, theree is much here that does not add up, if things are indeed as bad as they say. in response to #1. And you know this how exactly?
We actually know very little about the hows and whys of the coup, except that every branch of the govt was in on it, from the courts to the congress to the military. My thoughts are that the entire rest of the govt felt that Zelaya was attempting to circumvent the constitution and get himself reelected and take over everything like Chavez did. We do know that he was attempting to set up something to repeal the article in the constitution that limits how long one can be president. He was also getting very close to Chavez, who had done exactly what the rest of the govt feared that Zelaya would do. Now, since the US has totally cut off all monies to Honduras and joined in the demand that he be returned to power exactly how is it that whatever Obama has done is backing the coup?

Ahhh, actually WE did something very similar back just a few years ago-how quickly we forget our own history, I know that the MSM suffers with ADHD, but everyone? Hint. Panama. Still don't remember? Panama, US invasion of. Still nothing? How about Noriaga(sp?) the president of Panama. Still nothing? OK. We besieged the embassy that he hid out in and set up loud speakers playing heavy metal at max volume along with large searchlites until he gave up and came out to be picked up.
Remember this. The US is not a holy place. We have done and do to this day a lot of things which we then condem when others do them.
Also, something that our govt has forgotten many times. A country has no friends, only interests. For those who thnk that just because we prop up Israel that makes them our friends. Israel attacked a US spy ship in the Med with several aircraft and made many bombing and strafing attacks.(we have video of the aircraft attacking, and yes they knew full well it was an american ship) Which as a BTW had a few of my friends on board.(I had to go to way to many funerals) They then claimed it was all just a "mistake" which was a load of BS. This was quite a few years ago, but some of us do not forget.
And for those who think that friends don't spy on friends. Isreal has had and still does have spys in our DoD.
We spy on Canada, England, Japan, Germany and Israel along with any other country that might be our "friend". Meanwhile, some friends of mine in Japan are just totally freeked out about what they are seeing on the news about the US. They ask why people are so uneducated, or why so many are just plain stupid.(re; death panels??, birthers, etc.) We are rapidly becoming a joke all over the world. Esp when they see our own congresscritters saying that we have the #1 health care in the world(a real belly laugh here) I have to answer that I just don't know. Do you?

You are so correct. We Obamatrons feel Obama is a god never to be questioned. After the 9,000th time I've seen that sentiment expressed here I've finally seen the light!

Oh, and clearly, back before I was enlightened by your highly original comment, I was responding to an earlier comment rather than the main post. Is that acceptable behavior, gatekeeper?

Also before my very recent break from the Obama trance, I was noticing a storyline developing about how much better things would be now if only Hillary was Prez, and how she should plan another challenge in 2012, usually stoked by the lingering PUMAs. Since Lanny Davis is mentioned in the post, my former self thought it was "relevant" to remind people who would be filling another Clinton Admin. Now I can see it though...feel the passion and spirit of a Hillary/Harriet ticket in 2012:

Sister Christian would NEVER compromise!!11!! Her time has come.

By the way PW, many thanks for keeping a spotlight on this story.

This needs clarification before mass hysteria breaks out ... like Balloon Boy.

PBO has declared the National Emergency to cut through all the layers of Red Tape and get vaccinations/treatment to those who want it, quicker.

Obama Declares H1N1 Flu a National Emergency

President Obama has declared the swine flu outbreak a
national emergency.

The White House on Saturday said that Mr. Obama had signed a
proclamation that would allow medical officials to bypass
certain federal requirements. Officials described the move as
similar to a declaration ahead of a hurricane making
landfall.

oops! bonkers, i forgot. we should never ever question the goodness and wisdom of our fearless leader's eleventeen dimensional chess.

....

that was snark. here's my serious reply:

re your comment @7: maybe we read different posts, but i didn't see where PW mentioned obama anywhere in her post.

re your comment @8: don't see how any of that is even a tiny bit relevant.
