Rock stars want to know if their music has been used in torture. IMO, the existence of such music leaves open the possibility of torture to anyone who listens to it.

It’s not Kerry’s demeanor that has brought him “close scrutiny”, it is the fact that he protested the Vietnam War as a Vietnam Veteran.

What reportorial rubbish.

BTW, SD, I picked up Charlie Wilson’s War yesterday. I’m reading several books at a time, so not sure when I’ll finish it. Have you tackled the book on the Soviets in Afghanistan that you were going to read?

Pretty soon the insurance corps will figure out that living is a preexisting condition, and that death is their way out, as Grayson said. Don’t know what’s taking them so long.

Sorry to ruin everyone’s mornin but Politico has this gem from our dear leader:

“Obama told Democratic leadership at the White House Thursday evening that his preference is for the trigger championed by Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine).”

I can’t believe I voted for the guy.

It should arrive from Amazon today or tomorrow and it jumps to the top of the heap. I ordered 3 books almost 2 weeks ago but they weren’t shipped until Monday. Don’t know what that was all about. I’m down to re-reading some books. Need some fresh print.

I will NOT go to Politico. I get really annoyed when I wind up there with no warning.

EDIT: Kudos to Jim White in his Seminal Diary…he linked to a Yahoo story about Politico instead of to Politico.
