DCCC Petition: Hi, Rep. Boehner (R-OH). Meet a supporter of a strong public option.

I’ve received another email from the DCCC asking for all supporters of a public option to sign a petition to House Republican Leader John Boehner in order to introduce him to as many supporters of a public option as possible.

Frankly, I think this DCCC petition is really about tricking Democrats into believing that Republicans are the obstacle to passing real health care reform – though they are not – and getting Democrats to contribute $ to the DCCC.

So, why bother signing the petition?

To send a message to House Democrats that there are a lot of us and to give Speaker Pelosi another bit of ammunition in pushing the Senate in the right direction.

As far as contributing money, I contributed to the DCCC when I first came to the Lake. Several of you correctly told me that I should contribute to individual candidates instead. Very good advice! I don’t donate to the DCCC anymore.

Here’s the message at the DCCC’s petition to House Republican Leader John Boehner:

Despite polls showing millions of Americans support a public option, Republican Leader John Boehner actually said, “I’m still trying to find the first American to talk to who’s in favor of the public option, other than a member of Congress or the administration.”

Help us introduce Leader Boehner to millions of them.

Sign our petition telling Republican Leader John Boehner that you are among the millions of Americans who support a public option. We will send your comments directly to him.

Maybe they should show our comments to some of the Blue Dog, Conservadem, so-called Democrats in the House before they send them to Rep. Boehner.
