Well, he’s writing in his own name because he’s decided that after YEARS of voting for the lesser of two evils, he’s not doing it anymore, and instead of voting for Republican Light Creigh Deeds (running against a REAL, no bullshit, fucking wingnut that makes Michele Bachmann proud Republican) is going to write his in “OldFatGuy”.

Damned tired of voting for the lesser of two evils. And REALLY damned tired of Democrats that think the only way to win is to act like Rethugs.

And so, of course Deeds is going to lose. And of course the MSM will play it like “See, Obama took the country left and look what happened” and when in fact the reality is, the BASE is going to lose Deeds’ bid for governor, not some anti-progressive movement out there.

But that’ll be the way the media plays it. Anyone wanna bet???

Not sure, to be honest. I gave money to (not a lot) and voted for and worked the phones one Sunday afternoon for Moran, and of course he lost the primary. I’ve tried and supported and done all I know to help real Democrats, and every damned time I support one, it’s the one that loses in the primary.

And then Obama came along, and I bought it, hook, line, and sinker. Couldn’t wait to go to the polls last November.

I know it’s a bit unfair to judge too quickly, but damn I’m disappointed.

At this point I would welcome a green or granola candidate.

I once had five kitties, one dog, two daughters and a boyfriend. The daughters grew up. All of the animals have gone to a better place. Ron is the boyfriend and we all know how that turned out. :)

I hadn’t seen the full testimony he did in front of the Banking Committee where he basically said “I’m wrong, sorry I screwed it all up” until that show. He even made that sound all nice and cuddly.

The Savannah cat is very exotic and they are often stolen. And I live on the greenbelt where an uneducated kitty wouldn’t last long. I need to find a local kitty who knows not to mess with coyotes. My last two lived here for eight years and understood to stay pretty close to home. It is still risky.

Had an incident a few years ago where I lost a chunk of my vocabulary and the ability to easily string together smooth sentences. Was told classical music might help.

I still struggle for some words, but have made substantial progress. Don’t know if any of it can be attributed to the music, but it sure has improved the atmosphere here.

I got a (maybe) stupid tv question. My set has a built in vcr, the set is shot. One of my ab fab tapes is stuck in the vcr player and I can’t easily fish it out. Is there any electrical risk in attacking the sucker with screwdrivers/hammers/whatever it takes so long as it is unplugged?

You should be fine. I don’t think machine hold onto electricity. Its the ab fab I would be worried about. :)

Guess I was afraid there might be some batteries or something in there. I’m past ready to ditch the tv, but not sure I’m ready to lose the ab fab. Probably a silly concern since vcr is so obsolete.

Back in the old days, there was always a little hole in front of a VCR, you could push an unfolded paper clip tip thru.

It would put pressure on a release mechanism, and help burp out the stuck tape.

Maybe your set has such a hole?

Just be slow and patient, tape is wrapped around a few different heads for playback, and caught up in THOSE spots, as well as the tape cartridge itself being stuck mechanically in the frame it loads into.

The frame is likely jammed somewhere. Careful disassembly of VCR is required.

Or, take it to a shop and they’ll have it out in 10 minutes or less for about $25, hopefully.
