If you are like me, you’ve had that since January 20, 2001.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the world’s greatest projectionist Karl Rove:
…the [Obama] White House is “getting very arrogant and slippery in its dealings with people, and if you dare to oppose them, they’re going to come hard at you and they’re going to cut your legs off.”
Only in Karl Rove World (a twisted world primarily composed of cocktail franks, headcheese, and ocular schtupping) is this a credible statement. Yeah, Valerie Plame, David Iglesias must think it’s just awesome to hear.

Fox claims it is an emissary of News. Know that Fox is but a servant, but not of News.
if you dare to oppose them, they’re going to come hard at you and they’re going to cut your legs off.”
In my dreams.
I guess I’m naive . I assumed that with the election of Obama and the ouster of the neocons , I would no longer be subjected to the profound wisdoms of Rove et al.
When are these people just gonna shut the fuck up ?
If anything, it appears only to have gotten worse. I’m trying very hard to watch less of the garbage that passes for so-called “news” shows these days but, when I do, often the only voices given air time are the names and faces from the bushie regime. :-((
When they’re 6 feet under. And then we’ll still probably be subjected to film clips of their “wisdom.”
Yep and it is looking like BO is taking more than a few plays from the bushie playbook.
Good morning, pups. It’s The Pasty Little Putz and Prof. Krugman today. In “The Catastrophic Option” the Pasty Little Putz says providing universal catastrophic health insurance while creating a free market for non-catastrophic care may seem unrealistic today but might be a good alternative. Prof. Krugman says “The Banks Are Not Alright,” and that while bank trading operations are highly profitable again, the part of banking that really matters — lending, which fuels investment and job creation — is not. Silly me — I thought all that bailout was supposed to get them back on firm footing so they could, you know, MAKE LOANS…
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and the biscuits are out of the oven. We’ve had an out-of-town guest for the past 4 days and it’s been gray and drizzly and chilly. He leaves today, and the weather is about to get lovely again. When he comes back in the spring we’re going to have to try to do a better job on the weather… Have a great day.
Question for you early risers or any of the background techies:
Last week I couldn’t get in to comment due to “database error has occurred” but, as you notice above, was able to this morning. But……..tried to make a comment over at Seminal a few minutes ago and *still* am getting the database problem.
Does anyone know if that’s specific to selected component(s) at the Lake?
Arrogant and Slippery this from a guy who lied us into war about imaginary WMD with leaks to Judy Miller?
I would love to hear Valerie Palme respond to Rove talking about someone else cutting their legs off.
Obama is going to have to do something about this soon to many people are losing their homes and the banks seem to want to buy these homes cheap by refusing credit and forcing foreclosure then they wait around on the short sale so long that many potential buyers don’t buy the homes and then the bank buys the home cheap.
This scam is obvious and will not make the Banks or Obama popular.
But it will give the Tea Baggers an issue.
Fox is a news channel then why do Daily Show viewers know more about the issues than Fox News viewers?
When a Comedy show is more reliable with the facts than a news show Fox should just give up.
The Tea Bagger march gets huge coverage the recent Gay march almost no coverage though both were around the same size Fair and Balanced Yeah Right!
It’s just a version of the innoculation strategy. Accuse the other guy of doing what you plan to do yourself, or have already done yourself. For example, the Swiftboaters accused Kerry of having a questionable war record. In the end, it doesn’t make any difference if most people believe Rove. They just need enough people to conclude that “it all evens out”, “both sides have problems”, etc. “No worse than the Democrats” is the Republican goal.
They start with the crazified Republican core, about 30% of the electorate, and and only need to find 21% from the remaining 70%, and thy get that from voters who aren’t paying attention.
We also have to remember that a considerable part of the media are in the bag for the Republicans. Not just Fox. They don’t all parrot Republican ideas; some of them just blunt, minimize, and misrepresent Progressive ideas.
So to defend its credibility Fox brings in a guy who lies?
Good morning Attaturk and fellow pups.
When are these people going to jail?
To bad for the GOP the Blogs are pointing out GOP lies as soon as we hear them thats what sunk Kerry he didn’t fight back. The lies have less chance to sink in now and be accepted by viewers after all we investigate we provide facts and link. While Karl keeps hoping that by having the Right Wing Media repeating his lies on every channel he can still brain wash people.
Roger Ailes, President of Fox “News”, is going to be seventy next year. He’s had a long and storied career as political consultant to Nixon, Reagan, and BushI. Rove is uniquely qualified to replace Ailes after he retires next year.
I get that message from time to time ,but it usually only happens when I have a poor wireless connection.
Lately , though I’ve seen it quite a bit. I also have to log back in when I leave the site.
Gotta be some technical issues going on
Karl if your lies and Fox News really did have an impact on America then why have the GOP’s polling numbers been in the 20’s since the Bank Collapse? was it or shortly after the election? Once it was safe for Bush to reveal more details about what really happened.
Details which would have given Obama how many close states?
Karl I think the GOP has beaten the record for being the lowest in the polls for the longest amount of time than any political party since polling began. Just wait until the MSM figures that out and goes with that story!
Tweety
The death of the Chicago School of economics?
First, they’re exposed as having the accounting skills of Bernard Madoff,
and now shown to have the scientific reporting skills of George Will.
Ah, darlin’…..what is this “wireless” of which you speak? *G* You’re talkin’ to someone who is attached to a phone line. :-( That being said, I only started getting the message *after* the last big Lake switchover.
The not being able to remember the log in business is gettin’ real old, reeeeeeeeeal fast.
Thanks for the response!
Our friends:
Ok none of these guys passed Earth Science in college.
it’s been a theme since day one, they accuse their adversaries of what they are, this began with reagan but they got better at it
Karl all those Fox Viewers never mind the ones who know less about the issues than Daily Show viewers, how many viewers are angry bloggers, and commentors, how many African American, Hispanic, Gay, Women’s rights activist watch just to keep up with the latest fox lies?
How many stock traders watch to bet against what ever Fox News says ( I just thought of that I wonder how much money I could have made shorting every company Fox praised this year?)
How many just watch Glen Beck and laugh?
It’s got to be something to do with servers or some such. I’ve got FDL as my Firefox home page, and I had to log back in yesterday, for the second or third time in the past 2 weeks or so. I’m sure there are folks tinkering in the background to fix it.
True but the GOP’s poll numbers suggest nobody but the 20%ers are listening anymore.
I thought it was me, now I see it’s common,,,,would be especially annoying if I were on dialup that;s for sure, they need to fix that pronto
CNN sure is puffed up with itself acting like *they* proved the balloon boy story was a hoax. GAG! Was traveling much of the time this whole piece of fluff was unfolding (Thank Dog!) Has anyone read anything about the idjit sheriff out there who seems to be doing his best to convict them on-air? Nobody on the tube seems to be raising any question about the competency of law enforcement (much less the media) from the get-go. The whole thing smacks of the Jon Benet fiasco. :-(((
And for just a $106 million (and a few lives) investment you to can get the American government to pay over $4 billion (and a few lives) a month. Good return on the dollar if the intent is to fuck up the economy of the greediest capitalist nation the world.
Or Journalism 101.
When academics go outside their area of expertise,
it is often embarrassing, if entertaining, to watch.
This guy Myrvhold seems to be a master at inviting people to Seattle,
showing them his T Rex collection, and blowing smoke up their rear ends.
Can anyone figure out why FoxNews’s numbers are soaring. They’re killing the competition(Countdown and Rachael). We know that Repub numbers are dropping so why are their numbers so high?
Thankfully we at the blogs have the self correcting mechanism of other commentors to correct us when we are wrong or getting to sure of ourselves being Geniuses:)
OMG, I just went to twitter. Jane’s Kobe died?
All the 20%ers are afraid of Obama so they need to watch the news everyday? After Obama won the rest of the nation stopped worrying so much.
Yes
I think they’re fucking with the numbers.
How though?
I wanna know the same thing! So while we’re talking numbers, does that raise a question of the accuracy of the numbers of rethugs? Probably attributed to people switching to some other “party” name (like independent) when in actuality their mentality is still reich wing.
Because FoxNews attracts a solid group of “believers” who know where they can go to have their view of the world reaffirmed.
So their numbers are great while the GOPs overall approval sinks or flatlines.
It’s the same reason Limbaugh gets great ratings for Radio but is disliked by an overwhelming number of the public at large. Radio AND Cable News are niche programming. But if you serve that niche, you’ll get the viewers who fit into that location.
There are 310 million people in the U.S., FoxNews gets 2.5 million on a good night.
It’s awesome when there are 100 plus channels to choose from, but it still means there are 307.5 million that don’t give a shit about them.
Uhhhhhh, no, not even close.
Rove is taking his cues from Hitler and Goebbels who accused the Jews of harrassing Germans in the countries Germany ended up invading.
Also, KR never outgrew his middle school bullying days.
As has been pointed out by others commenting on this thread, it’s a classic ploy to accuse your enemy/opponent of the crime you are committing.
On the plus side, tho, Fuxnewz viewers are given a false sense of security by constantly watching only one outlet for their “news” (Rash Limpballz counts as Fuxnewz imo, as they share the same goppie talking points).
It’s the same delusionary bubble that the Cheney/Bush WH lived in for 8 yrs. and what cost the goppies the 2006 & 8 elections, so let ‘em simmer in their own stew! That’s why my uber-conservative relatives are still in shock over Obama’s election — they really believed all the b.s. Fux & Rash were shoveling out to them.
Rove is just beating the drum b/c Glenda and Rash have been getting all the publicity lately — for HIS ideas and he can’t stand it! being the narcissist that he is.
Hubris is a wonderful thing . . . when your enemy is infected with it.
Daymn! Now *there’s* a “libural” explanation I can live with. Not being snarky with ya, darlin’…..just luvs me some good logical analysis.
Not so sure I agree with the “awsome” 100 channels from which to chose tho’…..it’s beyond amazing how many of them are devoted to nothing but advertisements – if not 24/7, then at least for a goodly portion of the day.
OTOH, faux news TV is only a small portion of the rights’ available lie platform…….the radio part of it is pretty much available anywhere you go.
Maybe we could undermine Fox by inventing a conspiracy theory that there is some megalomaniacal Australian billionaire plotting to take over all of the information sources in the world and destroy democratic institutions by broadcasting constant brainwashing and repeating lies. Maybe it would arrouse their natural zenophobia…. Naw, I guess it’s too far-fetched.
you can leave something for her here. there’s a place on her FB page as well.
Morning All
Hey…I LIKE headcheese. And I can almost guarantee it’s not something you’ll find on a Village cocktail party tray. Although the look on Cokie Roberts’ face if she ever found some at a WaPo pay for play soirée would be priceless. But there would be other problems, too, probably involving mustard and the proper bread for a decent sandwich, and probably the lack of a good dill pickle and pepperjack cheese to go with it…
And while I’m at it, I’m saddened to see Marcy attach scrapple to that looser from Pennsylvania. Scrapple is your perfect breakfast food: Warm, spicy, filled with nutritional goodness (corn meal, pork scraps, and seasoning). In other words, everything that Arlen Specter is not, and to which he can never even aspire.
mornin’
re: site troubles – they are rearranging things backstage resulting in some hiccups.
I have had some luck by temporarily switching from FF to IE, but that could just be my set up.
Normal people have real lives — which include pursuits other than politics.
We interact with fellow normal human beings and animals and nature, and don’t spend every waking moment glued to the tv to catch every tidbit of “wisdom” dispensed by Douchy or Glenda or which ever vanity gasbag Fuxnewz chooses to prop up in front of a camera.
Whenever I visit my uber-conservative relatives (which is as seldom as possible) I am subjected to Fuxnewz (exclusively) 24/7 — and with the volume turned up to ear-bleeding levels (they’re all hard of hearing — big surprise) and I’m not exaggerating, unfortunately.
These same relatives are amazed that I actually get my news from sources other than Fux, like the BBC and Guardian/UK among others, as if I was being “unpatriotic” — yes, they really believe that if you don’t listen to Fuxnewz, you’re anti-American.
Sad and scary.
Karl Rove should be in jail for helping to steal the 2004 election! The last guy who was going to testify about it died in a plane crash. Geeee, how’d that happen? Karl? *pointing microphone at his mouth to hear his answer clearly*
Hey Waccamaw. Nice to see your electrons! You will have mail w/in the next hour or so.

I haven’t spent enough time here to tell, but at AlterNet I know the system well enough to tell when I am being spyed on, or bugged – that is what I call it.
When it happens, it seems to be our connection is run through someone else’s computer on the way to where we think it should go.
I have experienced it enough to determine it’s political pattern in my case. There were some issues I was prevented from posting on entirely, harassment issues were the drug war and anything Jewish, computer crashing events centered on criticism of the 9/11 media complicit cover up and just about anything incriminating Cheney.
I suspect it is run by our military industrial complex, but I don’t know. There could also be competing interests using the same hardware and technique.
You mean when hell freezes over?
Karl Rove:
Oddly, I wouldn’t have much of a problem with the mainstream media really believing this. Of course, if they did really believe it, they’d never actually say it.
.
Could Rove be inoculating himself against a pending investigation?
Sliming the Admin. again in order to appear “the victim” in future inquiries?
One can still dream, eh?
Might’ve liked to hear some of what grinning Terry McAuliffe had to say.
“…the [Obama] White House is “getting very arrogant and slippery in its dealings with people, and if you dare to oppose them, they’re going to come hard at you and they’re going to cut your legs off.” — Karl Rove
So the guy who said the following:
“We will fuck him. Do you hear me? We will fuck him. We will ruin him. Like no one has ever fucked him!”
Could probably be described as “very arrogant and slippery”, right?
Oh, that was KARL ROVE!
He’s such a fucking hypocrite.
Karl Rove- the master of slippery. Son of a bitch is so oily he’s naturally flammable.
This comment is off to the side a bit but revelent to the topic none the less…
Did you hear Bush 41 bleating about how nasty politics has become in this coutnry and he blamed MSNBC and named KO and RM as prime examples? When I heard that I almost s#@t myself.
This statement coming from the man who hired Lee Atwater and Bill Ayers – the acknowledged godfathers of slime ball rethuglicon “fear, smear mock and lie” tactics – to get himself elected.
I’m tell ya, the more we hear from any of the Bushies the more looney and delusional they become…
