I’m trying to make the FDL Garlic lemonade recipe I only used five garlic cloves instead of 10 but I cut the cloves a few times so the chemicals should seep in faster. Also I’m using limes instead of lemons anf powered ice tea instead of honey I got no other sugar in the house plus I added cinnamon and spearmint oil.
Maybe the Lake should gather together a cookbook list of home remedies and we could try them out and see how they work?

One of the reason’s I’m trying Garlic Lime aid is because sometimes I chop a whole clove sometimes two of garlic every now and then into small pieces and then grab a pinch of garlic then drink water fast then grab another pinch drink water fast granted its hard on the tummy but it makes you feel like you ate a radioactive spider sick but with super powers.
I’m hoping I won’t smell as bad for as long this way:)

An air bridge to Afghanistan is growing more important

For eight years, Charleston has been a starting point for the 7,500-mile-long air bridge to the Afghan war.

Eleven times a day, on average, Air Force C-5 and C-17 military transport aircraft take off from Charleston for Afghanistan.

So we are flying water 7,500 miles.

Hot garlic lemonade has been one of my wintertime staples for quite a few years. Limes instead of lemons works great. Or sometimes i use half lemon, half lime. And sometimes i add raw grated ginger as well as the garlic.

i read somewhere years ago that it was a good folk remedy for brochitis/lung/sinus stuff, and it sure seems to ease my chest a bit if i’m recovering from some respiratory bug in the winter. My ex claimed that the reason it kept me fairly healthy was that the copious amounts of raw garlic i used in it kept people from getting close enough to spread germs.

Or, roast it, boil it down, and then blend it all up?

It’s not clear to me yet if one is ’sposed to EAT the garlic and ginger, or strain it all out for the drink?

hiya larue! you’re Da Chef! Do what ever you darn well please! I scoop it up with a spoon when i get to the bottom of the mug & scarf down all that garlicky goodness. I mince it pretty fine beforehand, but i ’spose ya could strain it but why waste all that nutritious fiber?

Don’t know what the roasting will do health wise, but the GARLIC will be MUCH less bitter, almost sweet.

Might have to try this . . . been getting signs of sinus/throat stuff . . . likely allergy related after the storm and sunshine bloomed stuff again . . . I’ll let ya know what I find out tomorrow sometime when I try it!

the honey is good for the sore throat stuff, and the garlic and cayenne is REAL good for the sinuses.

thanks for the good thoughts … my eye is slowly clearing, not at a plateau anyhow. It would be great if i could avoid more surgery.
