The only real legacy from this will be from the fact that so many in the media used and repeated the fake quotes, and it worked. Who gets next?

So many talking heads, so many on the web did not even bother to check, not two minutes searching, not checking snopes, not a phone call, nothing.

This is the problem. this is not a reason to cheer.

Verbal flame throwers from both sides get face time because they are willing to say anything. Nobody cares what is true, they just pump the controversy for the ratings. It is the same thing as “death panels”.

Given the fights that are coming up, we need
facts, informed people, trusted voices that give us the truth, not this.

Nothing good will come from this.

Watch for a teabagger uproar over this. They’ll probably scream about a boycott of NFL games, merchandise, etc. — they have to put all those leftover 9/12 posters and paraphenalia to use. Maybe they can have it coincide with Halloween — how fitting.

Let ‘em. They’re mostly NASCAR/baseball freaks anyway, so who gives a shit.

Rush should be hitting the oxycotin bottle pretty heavy tonite. Toooo bad!

The right continues its perverse whining about a privately owned, multi-billion dollar industry making a business decision about being associated with a hugely unpopular drug-addicted sex tourist who says offensive shit on a daily basis for a living.

Even NPR got the story wrong by saying Rushbo was being persecuted for “past comments” probably pertaining to the ugly remarks about Donnovan McNabb – but it’s NOT just those comments – IT’S WHAT HE SAYS EVERY DAMN DAY that some of these people in the NFL find so offensive and don’t want to associate themselves with.

Don’t republicans believe that these types of private fraternities have the choice to allow whoever they want in them that’s why they are private. So if women aren’t allowed in men’s clubs or blacks in country clubs that’s OK. But if one of their own are left out namely a racist Oxycontin popping sex tourist then that’s not OK. Don’t republicans believe in personal responsibility. Rush’s actions alone are to blame for his exclusion from the NFL. So if he wants to make money off the fringe of right wing society he should expect that he won’t get excepted by the mainstream. I thought too that republicans don’t look for sympathy or wallow in self pity. That they pull themselves up by the bootstraps and make it on their own. If Rush wants to own a football he can always start his own league.
