Pictured: left-wing McCain/Palin supporter Roger Goodell
The right continues its perverse whining about a privately owned, multi-billion dollar industry making a business decision about being associated with a hugely unpopular drug-addicted sex tourist who says offensive shit on a daily basis for a living.
From Reuters:
“It has become clear that his (Limbaugh’s) involvement in our group has become a complication and a distraction to our intentions,” said SPC Worldwide Chairman Dave Checketts, who is leading the bid to buy the National Football League team and keep it in St. Louis.
Who is Dave Checketts? He was the youngest GM in NBA history, is a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, has an MBA from BYU and, according to Wikipedia, is featured in a book called The Mormon Way of Doing Business. Typical moonbat!
Back to Reuters:
According to the report, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told the NFL Fall League Meeting: “I think divisive comments are not what the NFL is all about. I would not want to see those kind of comments from people who are in a responsible position within the NFL.”
Who is Roger Goodell? The son of former Republican US Senator, Charles E. Goodell, who supported John McCain for president. Another leftist, out to get El Rushbo.
And I’d wager that the majority of the old rich white guys who own NFL teams aren’t DFHs. Does Jerry Jones strike you as an ACORN-loving Kucinichtard?
Look, if the NFL had determined that the drug addicted sex tourist would have had a positive impact on the the league’s bottom line, Goodell and Checketts would’ve happily welcomed him into the club. They decided he would not, so he wasn’t. That’s all there is too it.
But conservatives never pass up a chance to wallow in imaginary victimhood, do they?

A liberal conspiracy against Limbaugh, no doubt. I admit it I did it. Me and FDR’s ghost actually. Me and FDR;s ghost and Jimmy Carter actually.
Aren’t the congress holes he has purchased enough? He has them lick and clean up after him daily. Guess the thrill is gone.
Okay, I’ll get it over with so nobody else has to do it:
Leave Rush aloooonne!
[Gack, cough, medic!]
And Goodell is married to Pox Newz talking head, Jane Skinner, daughter of H.W. Boosh’s Sec. of Transportation then Chief of Staff, Sam Skinner.
Surely they hate the Limpbaugh in that household.
had me a howl over this late last night – there is no better way to put a thumb in the eye of this toxic blowhard than to have the Big Swingin’ Dicks of Capitalism dismiss him as a mere complication, not even mentioning him by name. so effin’ sweet
The league, especially now with Goodell in charge, has to spend a lot of time cleaning up its image. rushbo can’t block, tackle, run fast with the ball, or throw a pass. He can take illegal drugs, go on sex tours, make nasty comments about many of the people that the league wants to attract or keep, and make a general nuisance of himself. The league couldn’t accept him and I say “Good.”
they’re just not that in to him
It’s always something.
blue, this is one of the best posts EVAH!
also, don’t forget attaturk’s point this morning, this is a shiney object, it lets the media NOT report things like afghanistan, health care, the economy
you know what?
I just realized, the concervatives might have finally figured out that rush is a “secret democrat”, since every time he opens his mouth another republican leaves the party, I have speculated that this might be a grand scheme of a “secret democrat”
to act so rediculous that you destroy the republican party from within
so now we see that concervatives are ON to rush and they are beginning their campaign against him because in fact he IS a “secret democrat, tasked with destroying the republican party”
between rush and rove, it really is hard to believe anyone could have done more harm to that party then those two
You know what?
Mr. Limbaugh is going to respond to this quite unforgivable behavior from the Capitalist elite with thoughtful dignity and measured maturity.
He will lament the close-mindedness of those whom he champions every single day by pointing out that obviously nobody likes him, and that he, by Gawd!, is going to go out and eat worms.
So there!
That will, doubtless, bring everyone to their dollars and senses.
Such a pity, really …
DW
I saw Che at one of your meetings.
Forgive me my apoplexyfreude:
http://www.redstate.com/tsquare/2009/10/14/tonight%E2%80%A6-we-are-all-rush-limbaugh/ — warning: in that universe you better be able to list the donations of NFL owners to prove they’re likely conservative, otherwise you’re a poopoohead.
Oh, and ‘first they came for the rich white gasbags, and I did nothing, since I’m only a nonrich (97% likely white) gasbag.’
?? He won’t just praise the wisdom of the market and freedom of association and at least this wasn’t due to some government regulation and…
I resemble that remark.
Actually ACORN took federal dollars and used them to undermine Rush.
Jerry Jones strikes me as a tax-payer-paid-for-stadium-he-takes-credit-for lover of BoTox.
Apparently Limbaugh said today it’s all the fault of the NFLPA (labor) led by a black guy’s fault.
So dog-whistling as ever.
What? He didn’t blame it on Michael Vick by name? Gutless motherfucker.
Checketts also gave $$ to McCain as well as Giuliani and of course Mitt and the GOP. He also became President of Madison Square Garden Corp and the Knicks and Rangers went into the toilet.
The use of the ‘First they came from the communists’ quote was just hilarious.
When I had my blog shut down by KSFO/ABC/Disney because I was costing them money from losing advertisers the hosts instantly wanted to be the victims. Even though *I* was this tiny blogger and they big time talk radio hosts backed by a multi-billion dollar corporation. They still whined about how the left was picking on them. Of course I used their exact words to alert their advertisers. Their advertisers were the ones who made the decision, just like the NFL owners were the ones who made the decision.
They do not like to operate in the market unless the game is rigged in their favor.
It is nice that Rush’s racism has finally reached a point where it is hurting him. It’s too bad his sexism hasn’t had the same impact.
OT Breaking house votes to allow guantanamo prisoners to come to the US to face trial defeating a rethug proposal to not allow. Prepare to have terrorists running loose on your streets./S
And the Republican tent gets smaller and smaller. Rush would have been wise to not blame blacks for this “another day in the life of an wingnut.”
I don’t get why the Fat One would want to belong to the socialist organization that is Pete Rozelle’s Edifice – The NFL.
Major market franchises must share the wealth with the minors – very Soviet in structure.
There is too much money at stake to risk future, autumn Sunday afternoons, where 75% of the players simply would not suit up.
Current rethug big tent

How about an empty stadium with former fans staying home.
perfect -I think there’s only room for Rush and maybe Bachmann. :)
Naw, this is too personal.
Shit DOES NOT happen to Rush and all the other Golden Boyz.
It is almost as if Rush had said to these bar sinister would-be owner-creeps that their mommas wore combat boots to church and went on to imply that if they’re so damned smart … why ain’t they rich …? (Those being the awfullest besmircherments the flummoxicated Rush could raise in his dander, being bald and all …)
Those kindda comments really smart, regardless of that drivel about “sticks and stones”.
No, pore ole Rush is the ultimate victim of a leftist, capitalistic hippie, Merkah-hating conspiracy.
His followers know that, and have made it quite clear that they intend to make the evil Rush-haters “pay”.
I think they mean business. Probably, “business as usual”, which is pretty mean …
It is all so confusilating.
I remember the good old daze, the “axis of evil” and “you’re either wid us or agin’ us”.
I guess all this here bipartisanshippery has ex-assperated the Rush-along yappidy to some little excess.
But, whatever ya think of poor ole Rush, hisownself, ya gotta admit his antics sure is cute.
(The preceding snark was for entertainment porpoise only. And is not intended to reflect on the real world, whatever that might turn out to be.)

One Limbaugh visit to a Ram’s post-game locker would be an NFL first.
An owner on the Injured Reserve list.
Oh yeah this is no time to pat Rodger on the head and say “Good Boy”. All these people are Conservatives, save for MAYBE Al Davis who you have been told for YEARS you should HATE. Being a Raider Fan since 1975, I can’t really do that. That’s why I think at some levels the NFL is not allowing them to win many games with phantom calls at the very least.
These owners are apart of the rich elite and would be made to pay of you introduces serious regulation, but we all know that’s not likely to happen.
Hey, DW. I especially like biapartisanshippery – you should send an e-mail to Obama using that.
First stop – the medicine cabinet.
Apologies for being late to the party.
“The Mormon Way of Doing Business.” Huh?
You FirePups are scaring me.
I admit that I didn’t spell it quite that way in my mind’s eye, originally, Twain.
Don’t imagine ‘twould do much good, or have any effect at all on Barack Obama.
I believe that our President has reached the summit of his ambitions,
achieved a sort of “perfection” as the figurehead of “change” and is now honing his not inconsiderable skill at ignoring the obvious.
Of course, he could be playing umpty-dimensional chess.
But I doubt it.
How about sending it to Colbert?
you guys are cracking me up… XD
I think he would get a huge laugh from it. Good idea.
my brain just froze, could you have said “now honing his considerable skill” and meant the same thing?
Glenn Beck could call for a townhall meeting at a stadium and dress up some guys in fb gear to help Rushy feel better…
Is this akin to the goal of getting to the Super Bowl as opposed to winning the Super Bowl?
Teh horror, teh horror.
-G
Haven’t really thought much of pro football since I as 12 or 13, but might just start liking it again. Do so enjoy the homoerotic subtexts. ;)
So?
You don’t like double negatives tossed towards our Prez?
Sorry, perris, but I had just read that the AP has accused President Barack Obama of being “obnoxiously articulate”, and I wanted to suggest that he has talents that might offset this particular malady.
DW
Actually Checketts DID initially invite Rush to be a member of his ownership team, so this quick cutting Rush loose here.
Which tells me enough of Checketts abilities to anticipate a PR problem.
Are you going as a player or a grandstand-fan?
My soup-er bowl is safely in the cupboard.
I go there to eat, not to win.
I figure that if I’m still eating, then I’m not losing … it, totally.
Um, is that what you meant, dosido?
;~)
Look, if the NFL had determined that the hate spewing racist drug addicted sex tourist would have had a positive impact on the the league’s bottom line, Goodell and Checketts would’ve happily welcomed him into the club.
That’s better!
Oh, the crushing blow to Lord Lardass’s ego! How will he cope! I guess he’ll just have to double up on his Oxycontin and take a quick weekend trip to the Dominican Republic where he can rape a few more children.
Jim White has a fresh cross-post up on the front page: “Funds Spent This Year By the Health Care Lobby Would Have Insured All Those Who Died From Lack of Insurance”
It is much better.
And, it is the truth, tbsa.
DW
yep! It’s all about the benjamins. like, duh.
Interesting, bonkers – didn’t know that.
Outrage overload…
“… a hugely unpopular drug-addicted sex tourist who says offensive shit on a daily basis for a living.”
Yeah, that about leaves him pinned and wriggling on the wall -nods smiling-
Don’t republicans believe that these types of private fraternities have the choice to allow whoever they want in them that’s why they are private. So if women aren’t allowed in men’s clubs or blacks in country clubs that’s OK. But if one of their own are left out namely a racist Oxycontin popping sex tourist then that’s not OK. Don’t republicans believe in personal responsibility. Rush’s actions alone are to blame for his exclusion from the NFL. So if he wants to make money off the fringe of right wing society he should expect that he won’t get excepted by the mainstream. I thought too that republicans don’t look for sympathy or wallow in self pity. That they pull themselves up by the bootstraps and make it on their own. If Rush wants to own a football he can always start his own league.
Blue Texan – THANK YOU for saying this…
Even NPR got the story wrong by saying Rushbo was being persecuted for “past comments” probably pertaining to the ugly remarks about Donnovan McNabb – but it’s NOT just those comments – IT’S WHAT HE SAYS EVERY DAMN DAY that some of these people in the NFL find so offensive and don’t want to associate themselves with.
FINALLY!!
Watch for a teabagger uproar over this. They’ll probably scream about a boycott of NFL games, merchandise, etc. — they have to put all those leftover 9/12 posters and paraphenalia to use. Maybe they can have it coincide with Halloween — how fitting.
Let ‘em. They’re mostly NASCAR/baseball freaks anyway, so who gives a shit.
Rush should be hitting the oxycotin bottle pretty heavy tonite. Toooo bad!
The only real legacy from this will be from the fact that so many in the media used and repeated the fake quotes, and it worked. Who gets next?
So many talking heads, so many on the web did not even bother to check, not two minutes searching, not checking snopes, not a phone call, nothing.
This is the problem. this is not a reason to cheer.
Verbal flame throwers from both sides get face time because they are willing to say anything. Nobody cares what is true, they just pump the controversy for the ratings. It is the same thing as “death panels”.
Given the fights that are coming up, we need
facts, informed people, trusted voices that give us the truth, not this.
Nothing good will come from this.
J. Cro.—You are completely correct. Rush Limbaugh is being persecuted for what he says every day. You know it, I know it, everybody in the stadium knows it–the guy is an asshole who deserves to be rewarded for nothing.
