Just the latest Republican plot

We're starting to hear about rifts in the Republican coalition, long known for its fanatical lockstep discipline. But with their crazies in full throat, what are the folks who pass as the reasonable and moderate wing of the party to do?

Put all their crazies on one boat, then arrange for al Qaeda to torpedo the thing, that's what they can do. You get rid of the embarrassing loonies, create a boatload of martyrs, and re-energize stark, raving TERROR of the terrorists, all in one swift maneuver. The idea has Rove written all over it.

The only problem with the plan is getting someone to do the kill right. Al Qaeda might get wussy about torpedoing a bunch of civilians. They did 9/11 to provoke a military response so they could get back to the guerrilla warfare against our military that they feel more comfortable with, the pussies. That worked out so well for them, that they might not feel that they need to kill more civilians at the moment. They're especially unlikely to be willing to surface after sinking the ship of fools in order to machine-gun the survivors, and that really would be the artistic touch this thing would need to have the required effect. They could get Blackwater to do it as a black job, pretending to be al Qaeda, but those guys are trying to keep a low profile (what is it they're calling themselves today?), and besides, they employ a lot of ex-military, and those people tend to throw moral qualms in the way of a sweet ratfuck at the most inconvenient junctures. Of course, they could always go with Wellpoint. The mechanics of it are not in their field of expertise, but for a job like this, soul, or rather, the lack thereof, matters more than the mechanics, and Wellpoint has lack of soul in spades.

Funny that they want to come to the Caribbean where 99% of the people adore Obama. I'm sure they'd be happier doing the Alaska route.

Speaking of keyboards:

Have been off-line since late Saturday due in part to travel but also switching over to a new computer. Keyboard action is gonna take some getting used to but it be a sweet machine. :-)

<blockquote>As Michael Steele would say, “My bad”.</blockquote>

When Michael Steele is finally fired, it will undoubtedly be blamed on liberal <strike> fascists </strike> racists.
