I’ve watched Cook for many years and I think he’s been pretty accurate. But, it’s also quite possible that we’ve now turned a corner on the Republican juggernaut which began with Reagan and that Cook, like so many others, simply hasn’t adjusted to this new reality.

Don’t diss Cook, just have pity on those who must find a way to adjust to the new reality.

Thanks David! This morning, while I was showering, I heard an NPR report (don’t know if it was local or national, since I live in Florida and my hearing isn’t that good in the shower) that basically smeared Grayson with this same meme. I thought at the time that this was the way the conservaPubs would go after him.

The story was about a invitation-only town hall meeting Grayson held yesterday. It started with a dramatic opening about how everyone suddenly knows Grayson due to his acid rhetoric even though he is a (implied) nobody. They managed to also imply that he was in trouble by interviewing 3 tea baggers who were outside the town hall protesting, including a “lifelong democrat” who spouted all the noxious tea bagger drivel.

They didn’t manage to allow Grayson to speak for himself and only had 1 supporter who actually attended the function and he only got to utter 1 line compared to the several each crazy tea bagger got.

And my local NPR station is doing a fundraiser right now! I called in and told them I would donate again when they stopped repeating Republican talking points at the ratio of 3:1 to Democratic NEWS. The poor woman who answered the phone was speechless.
