  • They should’ve listened to Krugman.
  • Uh, isn’t that like, their job?
  • Here comes the H1N1 vaccine.
  • MC Steele: those doctors don’t know jack.
  • So little to show for all those Teabaggings.
  • No matter what Faux News says.
  • Southern Republicans: still classy!

Knowing that my senior citizen group is not a prime object for H1N1 vaccine is reassuring in a way.

We’re there for the scammers and Nigerian heirs.

That H1N1 vaccine is just in time. I have 2 nephews down with it and a grandson who has been exposed.

Good Morning, Pupsters.
Now, to go look at the links above. (My head is still reeling from reading Attaturk’s post. Crazy, Man. Big Time.)

It is “very important,” he said, for the government to “continue to provide significant support to the economy through next year.” At the least, he said, that should include extending the homebuyer’s credit, various business tax breaks and mortgage relief programs.

Yep, people who have lost their jobs will be flocking to buy a home, businesses will be looking for new hires with their tax break money and the previous mortgage relief program out of Congress has been such an astounding success. What planet do these people live on?

I have a friend whose pregnant daughter died of H1N1. She was in a coma for 9 weeks, and they finally let her go. Fortunately the baby survived.

Is it too early to talk about candy? The new deal at weddings these days is to have a Candy Bar, where there is a table set up with Lottsa jars of candy that the guests can make their own to go goody bags. Needless to say, there was a shit load left over. My daughter told the Wedding Coordinator to throw it out, but I brought it all home and am going to take it to Operation Gratitude…http://www.opgratitude.com/news_newspaper.php#

Regarding Teabaggers, I really liked this letter to the blog Who’s Playin:

Dear Old People,

We don’t want to kill you. You are our parents and grandparents and we love you. But if you throw a cranky fit and keep us from having decent, affordable health care, you can figure out how to work your own goddamn PCs, cable boxes and remote controls from now on.

And it wouldn’t hurt if you would stop being so bigoted and freaked out about having a black president too. We understand that this would have been impossible in your day, but it’s a long way from being a communist, or an Al Qaeda sleeper agent or Hitler. It’s embarrassing and this kind of stuff is why we don’t bring the grandkids around more. They miss you and we would all like it if you were a bigger part of their lives, but we don’t want them to grow up thinking this way.

First doses of H1N1 flu vaccine arrive

the flu isn’t even out yet and they have a vaccine

rigghhhhhhtttttt

this is a scheme to enrich the vaccine industry imho

I have never gotten a vaccine for a yearly flue and don’t anticipate getting one in the near future

Countless billions in compelled treatments of the population to a virus which is no more virulent than most in the past. The vaccine has not been tested. This is money for the state and pharma yet again. My wife is faced with dismissal from her job or 19 yrs of she refuses the vaccine.

Big Brother knocking.

It sure as hell is down here in Georgia… I know at least 6 people who’ve had it, and the kids were very sick with it.

Did you forget to close a snark tag, or are you just finding this all terribly amusing? I work in an ENT practice and we are catching the overflow of patients who can’t get into their primary care physician’s office because their schedules are full…

I sat in a pediatrician’s office outside Atlanta with my son three weeks ago for almost 2 hours waiting for a walk-in appointment. When I got to see the Dr, she said most of the kids coming in have H1N1.

How can they tell that it’s H1N1? Is there a test, or are symptoms dyspositive?

The flu is definitely “out” and people are dying from it, including at least some folks without underlying health problems. Is it worse at this point than seasonal flu? Probably not … yet. I don’t usually get flu shots even though my employer give them away free, and IIRC we older folks aren’t considered prime candidates for H1N1, so I may not get that vaccine either.

And yes, the vaccine HAS been tested. Let’s not let our suspicion of big pharma cloud our judgment on this stuff. Sanity, please.

There is a test, but at this point down here they’re not even bothering with it any more because the vast majority of flu cases that were being seen were H1N1.

They test for type. H1N1 is Type A, and (according to the Dr.) is, by far, the most prevalent Type A flu currently. The tests are positive for Type A, so it is assumed that the majority positive results for Type A are H1N1. Not a perfect test, but fairly good.

My poor sister, who is already more prone to get colds, etc., is a fourth grade teacher. This is a second career for her, so she hasn’t built up immunities yet. Gonna be a rough winter for her too.
