Good evening spurious
Freaking cool!
Hey ES
hey spur
Good evening spurious, ES.
hey newt, hey es
….and possibly anorexic.
ES, newt, spur, eCahn, hi all
I hope I never meet congressman Stupak in the midst of polite company.
Via open left:
Another C Street denizen. What a colossal creep.
Get the frik outa the Democratic Party, won’t you please?
Wait until Ms. Maddow launches at you, Bart. You will be very sorry.
Aha. What’s on my mind tonight. Funny you should ask. I went to my first meeting of the Ulster County Bee Club (or whatever its real name is). Had a prof from SUNY-Cobbleskill talk about anatomy, and other related matters. My beekeeper came for an inspection yesterday. He said I had one of the healthiest hives he’s seen this year, which is a great releif for a beginner. It’s been a terrible year, primarily because of torrential rains in June which is the month when they normally bulk up the most, and the weather since hasn’t been great from the bee’s POV. My bee keeper predicts a 50% or greater loss this winter; normal is 20%. My girls should be fine though. They’ve got about 60 pounds of honey to munch on and are busy making more. Think they need something like 30 or 40 over the normal winter. And the most amazing thing at this time of year is the (sorry guys) genocide of the drones. No drones allowed in the hive over the winter. So you can actually see the smaller workers (female) dragging out the larger, kicking & screaming drones, and uncermoniously tossing them over the edge.
evening ecahn, evening margot, all
this is all so disgusting
hiya Margot
eCahn – do you keep your bees under cover in the winter? I don’t know anything about their survival potential, except that it is in jeopardy these days.
love it! should be happening (gender-neutrally) in congress
In my non-FDL world, I have been annoying some people. And I expect to be annoying more in the future. Anybody angry at me wiil need to take a ticket and stand in line.
But until those freaky deaky neo-cons take me away, I will keep on rockin’ in the USA. I found a “Journey” song, but not the one you might think.
Bees do abortions and also euthanasia. Some pupae that are infected with verroa mites and uncapped and dragged out of the hive. And any live born bee with birth defects (malformed wings, for example, if the verroa infected cell is not detected pre-hatching) is expelled from the hive. No Americans for Disabled Bees act.
good evening everyone ….. how is everyone?
Why are your bees doing so well ant ideas? Whats the latest on Colony collapse disorder is it over?
If it is maybe we can claim Bush caused it with pollution.
Can we drone Stupak? /s
Good to hear they will make it through the winter. BTW, the falling branch you mentioned… was that aa recent occurrence?
evening all. Just scarfed MamaTrex’s mac & cheese w/the last of the giant cherokee purples. Incredible! Best M&C ever – I’m not usually a fan.
Hi katymine!
katymine!
Don’t remember quite what the preparations are. As I remember, no big insulation. They can keep themselves warm (they hibernate & lower their body temp from 90-something to 40-something). It’s food (honey) that’s the problem. In mid-Hudson, the vast majority of death from starvation occurs from mid-Feb, when the queen starts laying again, until the end of March, after which stuff starts flowering. Apparently you can put solid cane sugar between the inner and outter lid during the winter, if you see that food stores are running low. But I just started in June, so I have no hands on experience yet.
Finished up my first cool weather pot of beef stroganoff here. next time I intend to make egg noodles from scratch… the stroganoff is too darn good for basic noodles.
Hallooo everyone!
But,, but… they are God’s creatures acting as God intended if abortion exists in Nature GOPer heads will explode…heh heh especially if we insist that fact get mentioned in high school science classes and ACT SAT college tests,
GOPers can’t control science by denying the facts if it happens it gets mentioned. I want the same treatment for global warming.
Hi katy. How are you doing?
Another trip to the hospital….. glad this was sort and big improvement…..walking has been ruff…… how much fun getting equipment is
How’s Elmore Katymine? With sports watching season season underway is he traveling. And hope that are you doing well.
I have no idea why my bees are doing so much better than other hives in the immediate region. I flatter myself that it’s because I talk to them, admire them, etc., but I’m sure other bee keepers do the same. They’re really quite appealing for reasons that I’m not yet articulate about.
CCD is raging. It’s probably stress related. Do you know that commercial beekeepers cart them around the country in 18 wheelers to fertilize commercial crops? So travel, monoculture (imagine being pregnant and eating only one food for the entire time), agrichemicals, etc., etc. are gigantic stressors on the poor little girls. If you’re interested I’ll give you some books to read. They’re quick reads, being written by reporter types, not scientists. The almond crop in CA is a particularly bad one.
How fun! While God may be Sexy, I’m sure s/he is hungry! Thus the comment I just left over at Digby’s place:
Ooooh. I made my first batch a couple of weeks ago. Not yet ready for making pasta, so I bought some whole wheat noodles. Much better.
Please report on the noodle making. Never tried noodles or pasta.
Yep.
(((katy)))
Katymine, nice to see you here!
Maybe Farmers should be all encouraged to grow their own bees and not use pesticide?
CCD?
I thought CCD means Colony Collapse Disorder.
Maximus had a diary about how we should remind the public of Bushes failures.
http://seminal.firedoglake.com/diary/8715
I can dream can’t I:)
You’re a pastafarian, cool!
That was my comment on his Diary sorry.
707!
During a Pull Up A Chair I’ll give a homemade lasagna noodle recipe, from an ex-grandma-in-law who was from Sicily.
The Bee Club members are primarily hobbiests who do it organically, more or less. But Ulster County also has a large commercial apple industry, and they cart in bees to fertilize the blossoms. My bee keeper has reached out to local apple growers, but gets very little encouragement. Farming (this is commercial, family-style well below industrial scale) is hard, and going organic would be too hard, accompanied by great risk of losing livelihood. The orchard near me has their own bee hives, but they still spray. When I asked them whether they knew my beekeeper, I got a sullen response.
Good evening, fellow FDLers! it’s bleuz.. aka BleuZ00m. How is everyone tonight? I haven’t been lurking so, I’m not sure who all is here?
Hoping EurekaSpringsAR hasn’t logged off yet. That video I wanted him to see is up. I’m writing the text for it now, and .. well..
Colony Collapse Disorder.
Well, slightly heretical.
Cannoli is How I Roll.
Yes.
I will report… an old friend on an AR blog gave me this very simple egg noodle recipe tonight.
Eureka…best ever egg noodles; large bowl, 2 egg YOLKS, splash of whole milk, work in flour…. form into a ball, turn out on a floured surface, roll out thin, cut into squares, drop into broth,,,, I always make them for my beef n’ noodles dish,, yummy…thanks Mom. Just an idea that popped into my dead brain today….wouldn’t it be fun to have a Nov. 4th ATblog reunion…but some place that has a large parking lot….Rumba was wonderful but no parking space. Frenchie feeling like a young bird dog but I’m fading fast, I might steal some of his Casodex. :)
jazzy
I thought Cthulu:was always worshiped by degenerate inbred New Englanders in the stories you know the kind who get into Harvard with Legacy Admissions:)
I’ll watch for it. Thanks.
Lots of crops are sprayed I’m thinking the chemicals are weakening the bees your bees no chemicals healthy.
Bees at the orchard unhealthy. Bees brought in to pollinate many different crops thus getting multiple loads of different chemicals very unhealthy if my theory is right.
The chemical companies do not want to hear this though.
Hi BleuZOOm… Love the video.. you all did fantastic work. Feel free to drop the link to your diary in this thread when you have it up.
You’re overlooking Yale!
I was sitting Cheek by Jowl with Babs and her not-pearls when we threw
baby jesusJeb and George into the lake of fire. They came out ok. So don’t frikking diss YALE, ok?Did you know Rolie and Schon were part of Santana’s original band, long ago?
I went to high school with Neil.
He was 15 when Santana recruited him, and only about 16 or so, at Woodstock.
We older kids were pretty jealous and proud, both, at that, then.
San Mateo, CA. Aragon High School. ‘68/’69.
Next thing I know, I’m interviewing him (for NPR College Station KCSM in San Mateo) and Herbie Herbert with Journey, at the SAMMIES, in ESSEFF.
Circa ‘78 or so. We chat about the OLD dayz! Neil laughs about San Mateo, and smiles big.
Always had time to chat a bit about his home town.
Wow, that was all SO long ago . . .
crawling off to bed. nite all
Noodle recipe! Love it! That’s how my Gram made spaetzle on a big white enamel topped table. For the Sauerbraten, for chicken dinners. On the farm in northern NJ.
Simple. Delicious.
‘Night, Spurious
Chemicals are definitely a contributor, esp the newer neonicotinoids (sp?) that may be just sublethal for honeybees, so it would weaken them, disorient them, but not kill them outright. But there are a lot of other stressors.
My beekeeper is comparing my hive to others that are also organic, the only kind he cares for. So why mine should be doing so much better than others in the organic universe is a mystery.
I recall it well. I also recall that the first iteration of Journey held much hope of becoming a real non-pop band.
Alas…
nite spurious
I’ve been thinking we can’t get good polls of young voters because of cell phones and no land lines that and computer polls may contain viruses so I at least avoid them I assume college students do too.
But the College Democrats maybe we can guess their strength by comparing their growth in the age of Obama to the growth of the college Republicans in their glory days under Reagan?
Thanks. Knew it was happening, didn’t know the terminology.
Is Ulster Co the fictional Putnam Co in the old Lockridge mysteries? Love the descriptions.
Thanks, Eureka! (blush)
As you can tell, we had some sound problems, but.. it works. I sent you mail, too? Maybe you read my mail already? I’ll dip outta LLN FDL land and get back to writing.
Question for any of us here: Jon and Jason said something about creating a new diary. Puzzled. Does that mean a new FDL ID? or just a new diary ‘page’ using my current BleuZ00m ID. D-d-dumb question, perhaps..
That is a great story.
Here it is, it’s not as long as I thought.
3 eggs, 1 Tablespoon olive oil, 1 shot glass warm water, flour
Scramble eggs, oil and water together. Add enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead 20 min. Cut small pieces, stretch and roll. Cut in strips the size you like. Boil in water till they rise to top. Take out with wooden spoon handle. Lay out on tablecloth to dry.
Semolina flour, eggs, water, salt, herbs for exotic pasta’s, like basil, rosemary, squid ink, and such.
A mixer, or your hands.
Something to stretch the dough with, something to cut the dough with, into your desired shape.
Not much to it.
I won’t over look Yale I’m scared of Cthulu Primordial Evil is scary but not as Scary as Primordial Stupidity! :)
Porcelain tables are the best. Unfortunately i keep mine on the back porch.. so not a winter table..) It’s old with funny legs.
Phat City. The cal’s, OH the cals, not to mention you can’t HAVE cannoli without some sauce, ergo more cals.
I’m not familiar with the Lockridge mysteries.
Team Obama has a lot (millions?) of those folks cell and text numbers. I’m sure he doesn’t want to know what they think right now.
Well whats in your garden or yard maybe its something they ate? Maybe something the other bee farmers don’t have growing or don’t have enough of growing?
Maybe the wind from near by farms or lawn care chemically treated lawns does not blow poison your way?
Or maybe talking to the bees really does help?
I think it will automatically use/generate your bluezoom name
I agree but I just want a number on our youth support. I think the polling folk are underestimating us.
HP Lovecraft, dude.
White Ship
*G*
I have fairly good wildflowers. This time of year it’s purple loosestrife and golden rod. Both in abundance in my approximately 35 acres of field. Other hives may not have so much field space nearby, though it’s a fairly open space county. Flowering trees (think high rise fields) are the bestest, but most of them are done in June or July. I have some good ones (black locust, linden, weeping willows) so the girls should be happy next spring.
*G*
My sediments, eggzactly.
*G*
TCU, i just read a thing that said cows who had names gave more milk than cows without names.
Got the information saved on the computer one day I’d like to be a bee keeper. Now what do you say to your bees
that might be why their healthy.
I have had some great adventures, in my time.
They don’t loom as large as HST, or many others, but, I’ve had a few thrills.
Thanks for your reply, hoss . . . the Bay Area was special, then, and I was there.
I got lucky at times. *G*
I think eCHAN talking to her bees might be on to something:)
Larue!
Prolly nobody remembers “The Meat Puppets” (Nirvana covered the linked song) but the Kirkwood brothers were friends of mine in ’80s high school days.
Cris Kirkwood and I really were bad people. Ask me about our dine and dash from Denny’s at 7th & Camelback (Phoenix, AZ, 1981) sometime, if you know my email addy. Too fucking funny, but not fit to post on a blog!
Thanks Eureka. I wasn’t sure. Back in a bit.
And I want to hear about the bee trouble ECAHN is having. I’d read that the CCD is caused by a weakened immune system partly due to pesticides now banned in Germany.
NOVA/ Science had something on this, and that bees are succumbing to a combo of viruses which their weakened immune systems can’t handle.
I’m also keen to hear more ’cause my family’s old farm house in N NJ is overrun with wild honey bees. And a female black bear has a den underneath the porch on the north side. A neighbor said he and his wife watched two cubs prancing across the porch this spring. Long story.
And two turkey vultures hang in the attic, so I’m told, but I haven’t seen them, yet.
Friends say I should be a beekeeper, because the bees have taken it over.
More in a bit.
Hey.. the beltway & press simply ignores the poll numbers when the numbers are inconvenient.
Nothing has made that so clear as the PO results.
Every time you leave the hive, you must say: Thank you girls.
Other than that, I shout good morning when I walk out the door. The hive is maybe 200 yards away, so I’m not sure they hear that, but when I walk up it’s the usual banter: how are you doing, good girls, etc. I apologize when the weather is bad and wish I could do something about it. *g*
Pam & Jerry North etc. ca. ’30s & ’40s. This particular series has Capt Heimrich, NY State Patrol as protagonist. Not great lit (understatement), but I’ve been a sucker for those oldies since I was a child.
Check out the pic with this story! I would love to know the name of this cow. She got great aim!
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10…..=3&hp
Who sings that?
Kelly, never heard of them.
I BET you had fun.
You seem to be . . . one of them DANGEROUS kinda rebels.
*G*
Theatre major? ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!
As a kid on the farm… there was an old shack of a (slave) farm house.. Bees took over one entire side / wall. I used to sit with my ear pressed to it and listen to the bees for hours.
I eventually and accidently ended up burning that house down.
I think Native Americans respected the deer they killed I wonder if they were respectful to bees?
Still good vibes intentions might be like praying for the sick might be better for sick people.
I say might be I have not followed up on that topic and fear Fundy bias in the studies.
Do you know what the bears are after in the beehive? It’s not honey. That’s just the icing on the cake. It’s the larva, which are pure protein.
This is a dangerous time of the year for bears, as they, like most animals, are trying to bulk up for winter. However, there’s not a lot of larvae in the hive now. The queen is laying a couple hundred eggs/day, down from around 1500 at the peak. Hatching is 20+ days, depending on whether its a drone or a worker.
My beekeeper uses two metal straps to attach the hive to two cement blocks. The bear can knock the whole thing down, which gets the bees riled up, but the bear can’t get inside the hive, so you just have to upright it to restore calm.
I remember the meat puppets… very well.
They used to play one hell of a show in the Haight .. til the end where their only point was to get so freaking loud and obnoxious it ran everybody off. *s*
I looked on amazon but as the books are not recent, there’s no reviews. So I can’t tell where they occur.
I’m looking for another way to be right on the facts again before the Main Stream Media covers a story:)
Sounds like a novel to me. Would you care to start writing it with a synopsis here?
My beekeeper (sorry to keep referring to him, but he’s my main source of info so far) sez honeybees in house walls are fine. They don’t sting, they don’t stink, the hive is a very good source of insulation.
HP Lovecraft was an incredible band from the late 60’s.
Two of their founders had opera range abilities vocally, and could cover baritones to hi end soprano’s.
They were incredible. In the studio, they stacked stuff up that was unheard of at the time.
They did one album, and it was great.
Then, they just faded away.
Google them up.
But that ONE album, HP Lovecraft, is LOADED with incredible music.
And their music is at times, like the writings of HP Lovecraft.
And THIS Is Where We Started From . .
Hope that helps? Thanks for askin, I’m a big fan of that band, long, long ago.
TCU, Oh yes, I agree.
Kelly, I have a friend who plays “Comin’ Down” by the Meat Puppets on his radio show every week.
Piano Performance Major is where I ended up in College.
The thing is though, that the whole of my family and cultural establishment wanted me to be….a CATHOLIC PRIEST!
The stupidest thing in the world for me to be! Evah!
Funny thing is, being actual ME is far better than being some dumb priest. I’ll have my MBA next year. And my husband for 11 years next year. But the Fam is all still sad about it. Something about my soul, rather than my ACTUALLY HAVING A GREAT LIFE!
Fools.
Yeah, that’d be all about Cris.
He’s one of those “11″ people on the volume/obnoxious dial.
There were no honeybees in the Americas until the Europeans arrived, bringing them with.
At least that’s the story that everyone with a week’s acquaintence with the subject has learned. But at tonight’s meeting, one of the attendees informed the prof that there’s an article in some bee mag, citing the finding of a native N. American honeybee preserved in amber or something; southwest U.S., I think. Details were not submitted. However, it’s probably safe to say that there weren’t a lot. Some native Americans called honeybees “white man’s flies.”
http://publichealth.lacounty.g…..fm?id=6471
Glen Beck and Lou Dobbs mention this on the news or is the GOP afraid of alienating even their viewers?
Kelly, you’ve had some incredible experiences.
And I MUST apologize!
You are a she, not a he?
And you are not male gay?
I sure missed a bunch . . . sorry.
Love your pontifications, BTW . . . . *G*
Well.. that hive would have been the only insulation in that old house. I think we did find some very old newspaper mashed into a few open cracks here and there.
As for the novel idea.. if only I could write. I have a story idea that came to me in Istanbul ten years ago which I still think about most every day.
Do stream of conscious on the computer. Let it sit for awhile. Then see what came out and if it’s something you can work with. When you read, keep writing in the back of your mind wrt learning technique & style. There are also courses, including some at university continuing ed that are good but not too expensive.
Fascinating.
We used to have what we called sweat bees in abundance in AR. A very small variety of bee. Anyway.. i bet they were native.. and they seem to have disappeared as well.
Also, you could start with “I remember when…”. You can then go back and edit that out of the final draft to have a punchier beginning. But it’s an irresitible way to start.
OK, I’m off. Don’t often stay up this late. It’s been great.
No, these wild honey bees aren’t in any hive. They occupy most of the south side of an old (1880?) clapboard farmhouse with stone footings. The house is empty, boarded up. The bees created a comb last year on the wrap-around-two-sides-of-the-house porch that was about 3″ thick, but spanned 3 feet, attached on the porch ceiling and the east wall of the great room/parlor, next to the what once were french doors. The bears are on the north side. There’s a big hole in the porch near where that giant comb was; maybe the bears tried to get at the comb?
We tried several times to rent out the house, fixed it up really well, but it got trashed by vandals, stripped. My grandpere did the incredible stonework. Dark floors. My gram’s wood stove still there. The pies that came outta that stove..
In my dreams, I’d love to re-do the house. My cousin says my Gram’s ghost is still there. I believe that, though I shouldn’t admit it. I’ll share that story around Hallowe’en with you FDLers, maybe.
Hey, I’m supposed to be writing something else right now, but I like chattin’ with you all..
Sweat bees had them here in Northern illinois though I have not seen them since I was a kid and bumble bees which I have seen around.
ES, I’d bet any time in Instanbul would bring story to one’s life.
The vagaries of any country, and it’s social and political history and reality, are fertile grounds.
Not to mention, the people one encounters whilst abroad.
*G*
This is the infuriating thing (well one of them anyway) about the whole health care mess. We need everyone who’s here to be well. Legally, illegally, I don’t care, because germs don’t care, children in pain don’t care, parents who need to work get injured and there’s no magick to take away the injury, we have the vast resources to do it with single-payer, we’re just too pig-headed.
A lady I know has learned I won’t listen to her about this. “Clots in the carotid are my enemy, and immigrants aren’t.”
Like many cool old mysteries, these have maps. Set on a curve on the Hudson and some old hwy nos Ny 11, 109 & 11F (fictional?)is all I see. If you’re interested (and tolerate musty books), I’ll send a couple along. I’m quite finished with them.
I think we should start getting ready to focus on jobs after the healthcare debate. African American unemployment is always high I think we can use that as leverage to get a Real job creating second stimulus.
That’s some really killer pics your words spell out, thanks for sharing that.
Loved it.
That which you do onto the least of my Brothers is that which you do onto me JC
The GOP says this is a Christian nation fine help the least of your brothers the poor the immigrant the criminal etc or GET OUT! Leave America don’t want non believers who won’t get with JC’s program!
I want our talking heads to say stuff like that to Glen! We need to take back the Bible!
Put down yer joint hunny.
Gay AND pontiff! So get that last huff in and pay attention!
Cris Kirkwood and Robert X. Planet and I would wander the bleak Phoenix AZ punk rock scene in ‘80, ‘81, ‘82 etc looking for an audience and often found them at the Mad Square Gardens back then. (No web site available)
Cris did the Meat Puppet thing, and Robert got the inimitable Lucy LaMode, Killer Pussy gig.
I got to be a dead king in the Banquet scene in MacBeth (Verdi, AZ Opera, 1979) and on to jazz fill in gigs.
Opera has eaten me, and I intend to return the favor.
If one uses real numbers of unemployed, including those who WANT to work but can’t GET work, I’d say this country is at 20%!
Without jobs, it don’t matter what color you are.
We’re ALL fucked.
And so’s the country.
I sure wanna know THIS shit’s gonna get fixed (don’t think it will get fixed).
I don’t think anyone ‘cept the masses WANT it fixed.
And given the ugly hard end to a finale, I still can’t for the life of me figure out why the corporatist feudalists would kill the planet and themselves, and their subjects.
They can’t live or survive WITHOUT us . . . not in the end.
Sigh.
I have to say that city stirred my imagination like no other.
We will lose big next election unless unemployment goes down I think 6% unemployment and we should be safe.
If we don’t the Tea Baggers will use that issue to fuel the Crazy.
Sigh, you people speak in such code I can’t figger it all out.
Ok, yer male, gay, and did the SF Scene, and I MISSED the Meat Puppets.
You know of Leila And The Snakes? *G*
A subsidiary of Fee and Los Tubos?
Hamburger Mary’s?
Mabuhay?
*G*
Yer killin me . . . just killin me . . . lol
Thanks Larue.. that farm is a real special place to me. Long story.. I do like that wild honey bees, bears and turkey vultures are keeping an eye on the place. And even the local kids know to stay away because of the ghost(s). Better than wired in security, maybe.. My Dad always said, “you get more bees with honey..” Now, the bears are its sentinel, and then the turkey vultures step in, and copperheads in the root cellar..
back in a bit. I gotta finish this other writing.. I’ll check in later.
So many fronts ahead. Economy, war, financial sector regulation, energy…
Breaks out of lurking to die laughing!
hate mondays…….. nothing on TV; nothing on PBS since they moved around channels sucks…….
the worse thing is the “bump” they found on my right forearm.
all tests negative but it still hurts
A gateway, hoss, for thousands of years . . .
With all the melding pots, cultures, languages and religon’s that crossed it’s path?
Yeah, I can see your time there as being encaptured . . .
WAY beyond any times I head in SE Asia, as a lad . . . . *G*
We are going to have to go big on this I wonder what Jane and he other Lefty blogs have planned?
They seem to be very well informed (as always ) but also organized fighting for healthcare and coordinating with the other blogs.
I think if they have plans for another stimulus with the lessons they learned from healthcare:)
We should be in good hands.
Still I a single root of grass am throwing my 2 cents in!
Pick a target one target and focus.
OH sure, YOU were never confused about shit other’s put out?
*G*
Now YER killin me . . . lol
And I ain’t smokin nuttin, you honey’s!!! *G*
Merlot, maybe.
Killin me, just KILLIN me, folks . . .
Sigh.
On bad days, I fear they think we are redundant liabilities and unnecessary to their future plans.
Don’t even TALK to me about Fee Waybill and the Tubes.
They’re a Phoenix band too and OOO I am still pissed about fixing Styrene Foam’s tits before the Battle Of The Bands at Legend City in ‘79.
[still seething…bitch acted like she was ALL THAT and I saved her from total nipple-itis. HAH!]
Always confused. Almost every damned day.
But not today.
I take no pleasure that it was you that got snagged. Well, maybe just a little.

Cracked me up too.
About time!

Or play dominos Get the economy started by giving cash for clunkers cash to the GM Volt thus putting GM to work.
Give the cash in proportion to gas savings $4,000 I think was the top award for a clunker this year and the Prius at 50 mpg was the best mpg car.
The Volt gets over 200 mpg I think or 4 times as much as the Prius so for next years cash for clunkers Volt buyers should get $16,000 off from a $40,000 Volt making the price $24,000.
At that price maybe we could sell a million easy or heck 5 million auto sales figures I have no clue.
But that would put a lot of people to work. And cut are need for oil allot.
Ossama gets money from rich Muslim oil states a drop in the price of oil cuts his funds.
Domino effect
Heh, the root of one blade of grass pitch.
I just don’t know anymore.
Without jobs, and I NEED one, badly, we’re all dead meat.
I want my glass half full, but it’s lookin half empty.
I’m actually thinking about a sign board, and me, and my one page resumes, standing out on a major corner, to solicit jobs. Cuz nothing else has worked. Not here in CA, not temp agencies, not Monster, not Career Builder, etc.
Not my personal connects, not nuttin.
I’d work for $10 an hour, but no one cares. And I got skills, for low paying jobs.
It’s ugly.
Thanks for listening. ‘Preciate that . . . Sorry if I went deep on my personal shit.
TCU… Larue. If folks remain unemployed I think they will soon find the time to get active.
Minorities vow ad campaign to back health care overhaul
Oh fuck what have I gotten myself into . . . LOL
LEILA! WTF do you know about LEILA And The Snakes!
Yer killin me. Still.
Or in other words we create jobs that reduce are dependence on oil and that causes Ossama to get less money to attack us.
That’s a FANTASTIC PIECE of direct action! Bravo to you!
Brings something to top of my mind:
We should have something like the Prop 8 Donor map that folks did on Google; you know so where the CEOs and major lobbyists live and have it all mapped out.
*G*
I ain’t beat yet.
And answer my kewstion!!!! lol
I’m thinking of looking myself
Singularly great work.

Those are the kind of numbers Obama can’t afford to lose.
It’s time to hire an broadband army of fiber optic digging, green grid stringing… solar panel, wind turbine war plan.
Et Tu, Ya Brute?
*G*
Thanks Kelly.
One of the folks on the team I’m working with (labor and progressives, nationwide) does have that Google-map of the fat cats underway. Problem is, most of those fat cats have their dollars off-shored, and few of them have the eye-popping palaces here in the states. CIGNA’s CEO has four homes in the US: South Naples FL, the one we were at in Media, PA (which isn’t all that grand, compared to some I’ve seen on the north shore of LI or out on the Hamptons) and one each in Avalon and Cape May, NJ. HCAN’s begun an ad campaign comparing the INS fat cats’ homes with the now-foreclosed-on insurance denial victims..
Its what we are here for. Why not mention your need for a job at the next Late Late night early lots of California folks on the Late late night threads somebody might now somebody hiring.
Yeah I’ve been saying that awhile now:)
It almost doesn’t matter.
If Obama signs a HC bill with individual mandates and no very strong PO, the roof will come off when Americans get their tax bills and realize they are paying BC/BS and Wellpoint indirectly, for very shitty insurance.
And you know what? He will be making truth-tellers out of the teabaggers. It will be an electoral catastrophe.
Thank you Rahm.
Hoss, I’m hopin people will put bodies in the streets to show disapproval, in ALL the propuah civil disobedience ways.
Till then, I’m not a happy camper . . . bods in the streets are all we got left.
I’m not believin HC REform will make it. Not at all.
I saw the new Michael Moore flick companies buy insurance on their employees and when they die they collect the cash tax free but we don’t know how many companies are insuring how many people Mike said.
We do own AIG we can find out how many polices AIG wrote can’t we?
True thats why we need to be willing to kill a bad bill.
“Thank you Rahm.”
Word!
I would rather see it fail than end up passing in any likely form.
And hey, bodies in the streets indeed… we can’t go on strike if we don’t have work.
I expect if that’s the outcome, WE will all go apeshit.
And the blowback to the DEM Party, and the DLC, is gonna hurt.
And we’ll be in for another decade of painful rebellion and change, as we fight for ourselves.
I just don’t have, nor does my honey, another decade to fight for change we need.
And neither do many others.
Sigh. Fight to your death. Not much different from the 16th Century, huh.
Bachus put off a vote on his bill today because the CBO did not score his plan yet well thats the official story.
My guess is he does not have the votes. I think 2 Dems defect no GOP votes of course and Bachus’s bill does not get out of finance.
I’m all for it. And working for the Republican party doesn’t make me quiver one bit. Obama either gets his shit together and gets his arms around the Senate, or he is tagged with not getting it done right a first or second time around.
Man up or wither. He knows precisely what he has to do.
Glaringly obvious here. How can they *not* see it?
Wal Mart was notorious for doing that.. I don’t know if they still are.
SO I have to drive 60 miles each way to catch the Moore film.. is it worth it?
If we kill dead peasant insurance how much cash would the government get? The IRS should have a ballpark estimate.
Hell Yes:) I took 2 buses
*BOWS*
Bless ya, and all like ya . . . .
There’s hope for HC Reform, I’m not COMPLETELY done with that.
But MY shit requires a job, and I’m NOT hopeful for that.
We are like USSR was, before breakup.
End the Wars and use the money saved to give us jobs! What chance does Obama have to win the wars when Bush could not for years?
End the wars blame Bush get us jobs!
I thought your statement above is brave. And if there’s any consolation, a lot more of us will be in your boat with you.
Only way to “win the wars” is to declare them won.
Good lord, that’s as plain as the rising of the sun.
TRILLIONS of $ saved, and reinvested into our home country for jobs
And not for the making of weapons, to be sold to the highest bidder.
We DHF’s have been sayin THAT shit since Vietnam.
Oh, then I woke up from my blissed day dream.
Dang.
I may go see it tomorrow evening.. if the predicted stormy weather doesn’t pan out.
Well firedogs.. I’m turning in.
Oh… check out this tiny band of socialists in the rhode Island Streets.. protesting Glenn beck and catching the Governor ta boot.
This is how it’s done in the streets.
Nite all
Nite guys. Interesting evening.

Thanks Newtonusr.. finally got clearance to release the new video today. My vid team whipped it by Saturday, but couldn’t reach Stacie. I was ready to drive back up to Manheim, to get her clearance; I’m outside Philly. All on my own dime. I’m job hunting, too. MoveOn doesn’t pay its minions.. I’m trying to change careers with this PR..
I’m fading and I gotta get this piece up and out.
G’night FDLers.. Thank YOU for the info about bees and hey, Larue! Write that story about Istanbul, will ya please? If you think about it every day.. hello, it”ll write itself, maybe? Do it.

Bless ya Newtonusr . . . . it helps to know there’s others out there, fearing for our lot in life.
On an upbeat point, the more we folks meet others, the more we throw in together, the better our end times might be.
Here’s to beatin the system, with our OWN co-op’s, and newly devised living systems.
And bonding with others, and sharing abilities and capabilities to perhaps, stave off dying younger than we want to.
I sure thought I’d have more to work with, in this time of life. So did my honey.
Now, we’re wondering how it will all come down in our dying days.
And we wonder how our last 20 years from late 50’s to late 70’s, might have become so sad.
And with that, it’s time to sleep, and my thanks to the mod(s) who have kept me in this thread start to finish.
I really appreciate that.
And I appreciate all the feed back from you Pups regarding some hard issues and times we are all dealing with.
Love ya all . . . bless you and all yours, from me and mine to you and yours.
ZZZZZZ.
ES, teh hoss hisself, was the Instanbul dude, with the story!!!
Credit due where it lives! ES with Instanbul Story!!!
Facts count . . . . and attribution.
ES earned his shit . . . we gotta make sure he gets his props.
Now, I’m a snooozzzzzzee. . . . really.
Good night Larue! Good chatting with you.. somehow we’ll get this done, dammit.
