It’s such a rare reaction that there’s no standard of progress … but he does see progress so doesn’t want to do more surgery yet. which is fine with me! but it’s as annoying as all get out getting used to using only my left eye. my LEFT eye has always seem more clearly anyhow *g*

I worked last month – 6-8 weeks projected, got 4 wks 3 days. Good pay, 8 weeks would’ve been better —– but, I paid the rent today, there’s a little cash in the checking account, went to the symphony last weekend, and will be going to an art exhibit opening next week.
The kitties are healthy, the weather is cooling (which brings even the aloof-est kitties to my lap, heh), and my car runs.
Good times.

What happened to your eye? Surgery? Must have missed hearing about it. How long have you been coping with one eye? Overtime that way? Ick.

Went to hear Max Blumenthal last night. When he finished talking, the tea-baggers showed up as if by pre-arrangement. In fact, I accused the organizer of having hired them.

An excellent evening, but I missed the after-party due to duties today.

I’m so glad to hear there’s improvement. Have had some corneal abrasions and found the eyepatches very very irritating. ((ndfg))

oh, that’s right *smacks head* you had the same prob! Did your eye return totally to normal, or do you have residual problems? I’ve gone from seeing nothing but a bright blur of light ten days ago to being able to see a hand waved in front of my face. Last night i thought i could even distinguish some fingers, which was exciting! Still on steroid & dilation drops.

I am working my way through Exile again, just spent about a month rehearing Aftermath. How did I ever set that one aside?

First off, I didn’t have surgery. I just had a severe irritation that could not be diagnosed. So recovery is probably very different – no tissue implications for me, no incisions.

But after 45 days of a tapered steroid and dilation-drop regimen, it was cool.

corneal abrasions? owtchee! sounds worse than what i’ve endured. at least with torn & detached retina there’s no pain involved. Except a little during the surgery. Hope you are over your eye problems of that sort!

that’s the funny thing … the surgery for the torn retina was done from the outside, so there was no incision to the eye proper. (the tear and subsequent detachment was at the top of the eye). But nonetheless, all the activity re surgery triggered some sort of auto-immune deal, the eye said, “i’m under attack!” and started producing white blood cells like crazy. Thus blocking my vision. I had a parade of doctors looking at my eye, it was an educational experience for all concerned *g*

Of course, few dare defend the displays of racial hatred, Nazi imagery and mob intimidation tactics that seemed to saturate media over the last several months. … All of which is apparently more offensive to some than the actual events being sort-of mocked.
