per doc visit yesterday, slow but steady improvement. It’s such a rare reaction that there’s no standard of progress … but he does see progress so doesn’t want to do more surgery yet. which is fine with me! but it’s as annoying as all get out getting used to using only my left eye. my LEFT eye has always seem more clearly anyhow *g*
Ummmmm, ahhhh – oh heck, just check the bottom of Late Night below, where I allowed myself a little pity party. Don’ wanna bring down this cheery musical thread. Besides, life moves on.
I worked last month – 6-8 weeks projected, got 4 wks 3 days. Good pay, 8 weeks would’ve been better —– but, I paid the rent today, there’s a little cash in the checking account, went to the symphony last weekend, and will be going to an art exhibit opening next week.
The kitties are healthy, the weather is cooling (which brings even the aloof-est kitties to my lap, heh), and my car runs.
Good times.
What happened to your eye? Surgery? Must have missed hearing about it. How long have you been coping with one eye? Overtime that way? Ick.
Went to hear Max Blumenthal last night. When he finished talking, the tea-baggers showed up as if by pre-arrangement. In fact, I accused the organizer of having hired them.
An excellent evening, but I missed the after-party due to duties today.
oh, that’s right *smacks head* you had the same prob! Did your eye return totally to normal, or do you have residual problems? I’ve gone from seeing nothing but a bright blur of light ten days ago to being able to see a hand waved in front of my face. Last night i thought i could even distinguish some fingers, which was exciting! Still on steroid & dilation drops.
First off, I didn’t have surgery. I just had a severe irritation that could not be diagnosed. So recovery is probably very different – no tissue implications for me, no incisions.
But after 45 days of a tapered steroid and dilation-drop regimen, it was cool.
((( teja ))) just trotted downstairs … bummer. Yanno, i get along great with my ex. But i do still have bad dreams sometimes about realizing i am still married to him. So stay happy! And good for going to hear music, and see art. And Kitteh medicine is some of the best there is in the world.
corneal abrasions? owtchee! sounds worse than what i’ve endured. at least with torn & detached retina there’s no pain involved. Except a little during the surgery. Hope you are over your eye problems of that sort!
that’s the funny thing … the surgery for the torn retina was done from the outside, so there was no incision to the eye proper. (the tear and subsequent detachment was at the top of the eye). But nonetheless, all the activity re surgery triggered some sort of auto-immune deal, the eye said, “i’m under attack!” and started producing white blood cells like crazy. Thus blocking my vision. I had a parade of doctors looking at my eye, it was an educational experience for all concerned *g*
an appropriate ditty for the Great State of South Carolina. The Christian Patriot governor is exposed as an adulterous secessionist. The Christian Patriot Congressmen is exposed as a vicious bigot. And now the Christian Patriot Senator is exposed as a treasonous coup-backer. Hypocrisy must have replaced tobacco as the state crop. It must be the ghost of Burr, returned to wreak vengeance on the republic, a century and a quarter after Burr fled to that state to escape Federal justice for his killing of Hamilton.

I am looking for one version that disappeared – it was a grab from ‘08 Crossroads, and was the best I have heard. The intro was thundering.
I’m sure the copyright gawds got it and smacked it outa there, but you would know it if you heard it.
Petro, yes, and thank you for your gifts to all us progs down heah . . . . you have been a hoss of hosses for a long time and should be RECOGNIZED for that . . . I always bow to yer wow . . *G*
I just hate to go over to RawStory anymore. Because they cover the teabaggers so very well and it makes me go berserk. These dysfunctional neo-cons are so psychotic, they must have quit taking their meds.
Starbucks has an ad spoofing Angry Teabaggers. But now the Teabagging nitwits are going after Starbucks!
The ad, which promotes the coffee giant’s new “Via” instant beverage, shows an “actual portrayal” of a town hall. A narrator says: “People who yell at town hall meetings can’t taste the difference.”
Among a crowd of seated people, one man stands and shouts, “I can’t taste the difference!” Another stands and adds: “I can’t either!”
The narrator concludes: “Can you?”
Because of this allegedly offensive display, the Sean Hannity Web forums are aflame, with a thread 16 pages and growing.
Of course, few dare defend the displays of racial hatred, Nazi imagery and mob intimidation tactics that seemed to saturate media over the last several months. … All of which is apparently more offensive to some than the actual events being sort-of mocked.
There is no way to describe this except fucking hilarious, and terrific.
Oh my, John Lennon, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Mitch Mitchel.
I am sure Suzanne has featured this before.
I buy a venti mocha frappuchino (double-blended, half whip) in the morning and I get the same thing in a grande on the way home. Well, now, I USED TO. You have done to yourselves what my wife has failed for three years to force me to do…give up my Starbucks habit. Nice Advertisement regarding the town hall protesters. Real nice. Who is the marketing genius over there who just mocked and ultimately alienated the 59% of the country (according to the latest poll) that are AGAINST government run health care???
By the way, I already called my broker and I am selling my Starbucks holdings as well. Real smart move. I do not need to see a drop in my stock holdings because you hire short-sighted fools to create and produce your advertisements.

i haven’t seen the starbuck ad (not watching tv leaves me culturally, ummm, illiterate?). But it sounds like almost enough to make me buy something at starbucks. except they cannot make a decent cappuccino and Dunn Bros does, so i’ll stick to Dunn Bros.
Sure. Wait until Joke Scarborough, who’s morning catastrophe is sponsored by Starbucks, gets wind of this. Hannity and co are going to war, and Scar is going to have to stand up…

59% oppose PO? What the f poll is that loony reading?
and, I thought the commercial was cute, and completely unbiased. Don’t they wanna know theyy made an impact?
Will they ever realize they are not entitled to their own facts?
Just wrote a decent post on the healthcare reform debate one room down. I’m still hoping the final product will do something good. It’s just frustrating to watch the sausage-making.
It’s been a long day, but it’s neat seeing so many people around the lake at this hour. I don’t know why, but it seems to me the energy level and enthusiasm is pretty high around here. Why would that be? Is it the release after you’ve tasted defeat or is something good going on that I haven’t been privy to?
Oh well, have fun, I’ve got to get to bed. Goodnight.
Good morning, pups. It’s Collins, Blow and Herbert today. Ms. Collins, in “All You Have to Do Is Dream,” says as a nation we seem to be overstocked on dreams involving fame and fortune, particularly the ones that come untethered to any plans for actual achievement. Mr. Blow considers the “Ephemeral Comfort of Conservatism,” and says fear of change and the uncertainty it brings is driving a large part of the opposition against the Obama administration. Mr. Herbert, in “Cracks in the Future,” says the grandeur of the University of California, Berkeley is being jeopardized by shortsighted politicians and the state’s colossally dysfunctional budget processes.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got waffles with warm maple syrup. Well, the smallish project of re-doing the veggie and herb raised beds morphed into redoing all the flower beds, and creating some new ones. My wonder worker of a yard man is almost done and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. It’s going to cut down on weeding, that’s for sure! Have a great day.
Just listened to some military guy on cspan2 talking about cointerinsurgency. Couldn’t understand a word he said. It was all acronyms. No wonder the U.S. is losing.
Just thought I’d let you know — according to Cokie Roberts it’s Obama’s fault that Chicago didn’t get the Olympics, and he shouldn’t have gone, and everything sucks… Does anyone know why she’s still around? A quote from her: “He needs to turn SOMETHING around.”
g’evening, ES & Pups!
Eureka!
ES!
Helm! Wow, this performance is new to me!
OMG! I’ve been epu’d all night. Just left a post below, and find everyone has popped up here.
Hey, ndfg! Good to see ya! How’s tricks?
ok. seriously – how is the peeper?
*waves at teja* life’s incredibly busy (lots of overtime) but that sure beats under-employment. How’s with you?

Andy Statman – Sensitive Waltz
Right. The irritation goes away rapidly, but the real ‘eyeritis’ remains for a while. Takes 45 days to stomp it out.
Ummmmm, ahhhh – oh heck, just check the bottom of Late Night below, where I allowed myself a little pity party. Don’ wanna bring down this cheery musical thread. Besides, life moves on.

I got this Stones album Bigger Bang because it had Sweet Neo-con. But Mick and the boys sound like young rockers.
This is a good one Biggest Mistake.
Hi y’all,
Went to hear Max Blumenthal last night. When he finished talking, the tea-baggers showed up as if by pre-arrangement. In fact, I accused the organizer of having hired them.
An excellent evening, but I missed the after-party due to duties today.
I’m so glad to hear there’s improvement. Have had some corneal abrasions and found the eyepatches very very irritating. ((ndfg))
oh, that’s right *smacks head* you had the same prob!
I am working my way through Exile again, just spent about a month rehearing Aftermath. How did I ever set that one aside?
First off, I didn’t have surgery. I just had a severe irritation that could not be diagnosed. So recovery is probably very different – no tissue implications for me, no incisions.
But after 45 days of a tapered steroid and dilation-drop regimen, it was cool.
As Mick says,
You call yourself a Christian
I think that you’re a hypocrite
You say you are a patriot
I think that you’re a crock of shit
Corneal abrasion? Eeeewwwwwwooouuuchhhhh!
((((newdealfarmgrrl)))))
My deepest, deepest sympathies. So glad to hear you’re getting vision back.
((( teja ))) just trotted downstairs … bummer. Yanno, i get along great with my ex. But i do still have bad dreams sometimes about realizing i am still married to him. So stay happy! And good for going to hear music, and see art. And Kitteh medicine is some of the best there is in the world.
Oh i like that too. There’s a ton of Stones songs I didn’t know about.
It’s only now that I’m finding songs I’ve never heard before on YouTube.
corneal abrasions? owtchee! sounds worse than what i’ve endured. at least with torn & detached retina there’s no pain involved. Except a little during the surgery. Hope you are over your eye problems of that sort!
Thanks. We get along pretty good, too – in separate residences. *g*
ES, pups!
ndfg, good to hear of your progress – reassuring to know slow is par for the course.
Two hr dinner tonight with a fox watcher. Tough duty, but I was heard, at least somewhat. I think.
Evenin’ all !
{{{{{ NDFG }}}}}
It’ll soon get better.
that’s the funny thing … the surgery for the torn retina was done from the outside, so there was no incision to the eye proper. (the tear and subsequent detachment was at the top of the eye). Petro!
Tonight’s cover charge will be…
Send me your drugs, cause I can’t get them cheap down here.
Percs will be fine. plain brown wrapper, please.
As if the insights here weren’t breath taking enough, I get to discover such great music … {{{Firepups}}}
Margot !
How’re you doing ?
LOL … how’s things, buddy ?
Oh, good! So nice to feel useful, isn’t it?
Do you have any idea how many people have bootlegged this?
I have found 45 different ones so far this evening…
You should not have said that. Not every song they do is great. But they have some major classics. I get to suggest the following I’m Free, Gimme Shelter, 2000 Light Years From Home, As Tears Go By, Undercover Of The Night
That is probably enough, I do not want to be responsible for blowing your mind too much.
OMG … when’s the last time I heard Steve Winwood …
And this was kind of inspiring.
There are a lot of ‘produced’ versions, but a few of the boots are pretty good.
*blushes* … someday, I have to tell you about how that got written …
Hey Newton. I answered your question.
Dude had courage to spare. Moral and otherwise. We don’t even exist in the same plane of existence.
We’re all just like he was, all it takes is wiping away the dust, to see a clear reflection of our souls.
If you want this, keep it in THAT thread. I will not be responsible for polluting a nice time up here.

Sure, no problem. Lemme get that Windex™.
By the way you guys, if you want to see Tom Coburn take a fearful pounding, look what Rachel Maddow did to him this evening. Epic is the only word.
How I hope he is going to be back for her MTP appearance this Sunday!
LOL … meditation is more effective than any cleaner, for that …
Mick does get “heavy” once in a while.

One of my fav tunes of all time, two of my fav pickers.
And they tear it up!
I won’t go into how they swap leads, and harmony’s, on the gits, or in their vocals.
Or the OTHER YOUTUBES on the right of the menu.
I’ll just say, nice call, Newton! *G*
Bless ya.
Thanks for the reminder, I have to go watch her show. Loo Hoo said that Rachel was talking about Gandhi today and might have read my diary … won’t CT be jealous !!! *g*

Pretty good Clapton Little Wing boot from this year.
Oh I’m an old fan, saw them in the 70s, but I just never had money for many albums so I only heard what the radio played, and there’s so much more.
Man, you weren’t kidding … Rachel stuck her Boot up Coburn’s ass really hard !
Yeah, she called him out. She wants another meet.
Fuck with me on MTP, you little cretin…
Here. Just for you, Tom.
It was very rewarding to see her mash the accelerator tonight.
Best evah, and I still love the original.

Nice pick Newt. Really, really, nice pick.
Best. Evah. Love this version.
Petro, looking forward to your book.

i second that!
Me too … this “fishing for a good Agent” thing is getting rather tiresome …
I am looking for one version that disappeared – it was a grab from ‘08 Crossroads, and was the best I have heard. The intro was thundering.
I’m sure the copyright gawds got it and smacked it outa there, but you would know it if you heard it.
