Senators Rockefeller and Schumer have been the most vocal supporters of the public option on the Senate Finance Committee. Rockefeller is likely to introduce a robust public option tied to Medicare, while Schumer plans to introduce a “level paying field” public option which must negotiate its rates independent from Medicare.

We’ve watched Harry Reid use procedure to say one thing and do another for years. And now he’s trying to protect Rahm’s deal doing it once again.

Between the WaPo and the New York Times, we’re getting more stories on extreme right wing fantasies as though they’re serious news, and not just right wing fantasies. The latest is about state “nullification” in the event of national health reform.
