Bad Max doesn’t like to share. Or rather, he doesn’t like to share with his fellow elected officials. Lobbyists on K Street? Bad Max will give them anything.

I’m happy that Raul Grijalva is cracking the whip on the 60 members who signed the letter saying they would vote against any bill that does not have a public plan. I think it’s great that he says that “triggers” mean “surrender.” But we need to hear that from everyone else who signed the letter.

Saying nothing is not fair. The people whose lives are deeply affected by what happens here, their constituents and their supporters, deserve better than these half-assed trial balloons and ambiguous statements. They need to state once and for all, every one of them, that they understand “triggers” are a sell-out. Anything short of that is unacceptable.

The Citizens United case will be re-argued today before SCOTUS. As Robert Barnes put it, this is yet another test of stare decisis in a period where that hallowed doctrine has been repeatedly tested since Justice Roberts took the helm. And, more precisely, it “raises new ones about the boldness of a court that has moved to the right with the addition of Roberts and Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr.”

When Newt Gingrich is the GOP’s voice of reason, there’s a whole lot of crazy going on. On the “Today Show” Gingrich said about Obama’s school speech:

President Reagan did it, President George H.W. Bush did it. I read the speech yesterday when it was posted and I think the White House was smart to post it. It’s a good speech. I recommend it to everybody if you have any doubts.

Granted, it’s not quite in the same league as Glenn Beck denouncing someone as an extremist conspiracy nut, but this rates at least an honorable mention in the Ginormous Balls category of the annual political awards that should totally exist:

Bad Max’s plan also amounts to a subsidy for Wal-Mart and similar employers, and an incentive for such employers to offer shitty plans their employees can’t use.
