The GOP abandons any pretense of bipartisanship, and David Broder’s column will be typed through his bitter Democrat blaming tears.

Late Night: Darwin Bio Too Controversial a Film for US, Say Distributors |
| By: Lisa Derrick Tuesday September 15, 2009 8:00 pm |
Don’t expect to see Creation, which opened the Toronto Film Festival and got rave reviews, to show up anytime soon in US theaters. Despite having been sold in markets around the world, distributors say the film–which shows Charles Darwin as a man who loses faith in God following the death of his beloved 10-year-old daughter, Annie–is too controversial for America!
The Hollywood Reporter wrote
It would be a great shame if those with religious convictions spurned the film out of hand as they will find it even-handed and wise.
But that’s what’s happening.

Matthew Yglesias picks up on a point that I’ve suspected was true. It makes economic sense to allow immigrants, legal or otherwise, to buy insurance on the proposed insurance exchange, because it will likely lower the average costs for everyone.

I’m not asking for a kidney. These folks aren’t expected to sacrifice their first born upon an altar to FDL. Hell, we didn’t punish anyone for voting the wrong way in the past on important issues like the war supplemental. In fact, we’ve even rewarded good behavior, and simply asked for answers when we see behavior we don’t understand. In short, we’ve been good, engaged, informed and responsible citizens. What we need are responsive and accountable leaders.
