David Brooks hung around the the capital’s National Ignorance Pride gathering last Saturday long enough to assure himself that the teabaggers couldn’t possible be as racist as many of their signs and statements revealed. They’re just good democrats.

It appears that Obama is appearing on Univision’s Sunday show, Al Punto, instead of Fox News Sunday not just because Latinos are a more important demographic than white racists, but because Al Punto is actually a more successful Sunday show.

After completing my preliminary reading of the Chairman’s Mark of the Baucus bill, it appears that Baucus has followed the deal outlined in the memo quite faithfully.

According to at least one recent tally, as of Thursday, 29 major celebrities had died during 2009. Today comes word that leading conservative theoretician Irving Kristol has died. (In other words, we’re still at 29 and counting.)

I think they left out one key moment of the Maryland event:

That’s the one where the crowd openly boos the Baucus bill.

Using Texas as a model for health care is like using Iran as a model for elections. One out of every four Texans don’t have medical insurance — the highest rate in the nation. Texas has more uninsured children than any state. And if tort reform is the answer, why does Texas have some of the most notorious examples of how broken and expensive the current health care system is?
