I remember in 2004 and 2008 I kept hearing that Al Qaeda had implicitly endorsed Kerry and/or Obama. At least that’s what Tony Snow, Dana Perino and Dick Morris kept telling me. Meanwhile, funny how some themes transcend and show all of us humanities’ shared sense of wankery.
So much in common:
So much:
So…:
Sharing a common enemy…besides ACORN of course. Just don’t hire one as your lawyer.

What a freak show. Its so compelling, I can’t turn away. But then again, its turning my stomach.
Zawahiri sounds like a desperate man that needs a new jihad Armey. FreedomWorks was made for him.
They really said that? And then they complain us us being mean and not willing to compromise?
Which would be easier if their side had any ideas besides stay the course I grant you.
Obama is illegal ? Sorry Lou if one parent is legal then the kid is legal.
At the Paul Broun Town Hall last night the Teabaggers we shocked by how rude the pro-healthcare people were!
Broun Backs off
On the bright side Al Quieda does not like Obama. I think they are worried we will leave Iraq and Afghanistan before we ruin our economy 2 lost wars and high oil prices could very well sink us.
Which is what Ossama wants not doing what Ossama wants us to do is a good thing. A plane crashing into a building 10 planes crashing into buildings won’t destroy us or cost more than a long war will.
Pull the Plug on Broun PAC
In Athens-Clarke County, more than 3,000 children and 30,000 adults under the age of 65 live without stable health insurance. Districtwide, as many as 100,000 people go without health insurance. Congressman Paul Broun JR., with his rhetoric and his voting record, opposes the best interest of these children and their families. Paul Broun JR. needs to stop helping himself and start helping children without health insurance. Pulling the plug on his own extremist rhetoric is a great place to start.
Pull The Plug PAC will counter Congressman Paul Broun JR. on other issues. Right now, our primary focus is heath care reform.

Half support for our side I said yesterday I would consider 20% a win. I thought you suggested that was GOP territory? I’m surprised and happy I think the deep south might not be as red as we thought?
Or our side has a great turnout machine in the south and the GOP turnout machine well what happened?
This sounds like a poorer district could the GOP be loosing the Common Man? I wish we had some demographics on the Tea Baggers, in Seattle they all seemed middle class and better dressed than me.
Have I made an ass of my self by assuming without proof that tea baggers else where were mainly Common Folks?
Are the Tea Baggers a middle class, rich astro turf group?
They have gerrymandered this district specifically to dilute the voting power of Athens. This asshole has great support in the surrounding counties that are rural and largely white.
Since I have been here 25 years I know people on both sides, mostly vets, and I would have to say many that I saw are the stereotypical angry white males. I think they really hate government.
How can you pay for healthcare by taxing unhealthy food if you ban it? I am for banning corn syrup but I am for bringing in Cuban sugar.
We Dems live on bikes and try and get bike paths built in cities. Show me one word Obama or any Elected Dem says about banning Motorcycles and taxing Guns and Ammo so high nobody can afford them?
Show me who said that… Punk!
http://www.onlineathens.com/st…..4743.shtml
He also loved to say Pelosi and Barney Frank.
Still half the crowd on our side in a southern Red State GOP district ok it was gerrymanded, but to favor the GOP.
All he gots is lies as my comment at 11 says the longer we keep healthcare the big issue everyone is talking about the more time we have to educate voters and once a voter realizes they have been lied to by someone they trusted.
Well they probably won’t rush to join our side but I don’t see them running out to vote on election day.
I wish I could share you optimism.
They only hate government when people they consider illegitimate are in office. They acted like this during the Clinton administration and they’re acting like this now.
When the brown shirts are in office they think we should all be obedient, and any dissent is treason.
What the article did not report was the numerous times he plead for “bi-partisanship” and how he really wanted to get ideas from everyone.
Sounds like hot button lizard brain angry reaction trigger words but just how many Common Men really do know who they are? After all how many people could find Afghanistan or North Korea on map even now?
You need hot button trigger words that connect to a wide audience not just 20%ers.
What Percentage of the Dem party even knows who Nancy and Frank are? This is inside baseball that appeals to a minority of GOPers in the know. You can’t win elections even low turnout elections with only 20%.
Having Breakfast before blogging helps:)
Why say that after insulting and lying about us? I don’t think his base is calling for “bi-partisanship” either not if my reading of Seattle Tea Baggers is any sign if anything I would expect your tea baggers to be even more Right than ours are.
True but what can we do about it they are already unpopular, they are already praying for a terror attack or worse economy because they have no ideas to challenge us.
The GOP can only run on lies for how long before they start to lose 20%ers. Think FDR how many elections did he win? Why nobody trusted the GOP after the Great Depression, FDR won the war, FDR got people jobs.
I would be happy if Obama is half an FDR and granted he still has a ways to go but he has time.
Good morning, pups. It’s Bobo and Herbert today. Bobo, in “The Next Culture War,” says the United States needs a revival of economic self-restraint to restore its financial values and make it a producer economy again, not a consumer economy. Bobo, honey, it’s hard to be a “producer economy” when most of the production jobs have been sent off shore. Just sayin’… Mr. Herbert, in “Peering at the Future,” says the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation recognizes what some Americans do not: the importance of education as the pathway to personal and societal success.
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got a variety of bagels and cream cheese. We’ve entered that period of the year down here where it’s lovely and cool in the morning, and heats up during the day. In a few weeks we’ll be making the choice — should I shiver in the morning in short sleeves, or roast in the afternoon in long sleeves… Have a great day.
Morning all
It is possible to roll up long sleeves and up here people will take off their jackets and tie the sleeves around their waist – just sayin
Just finished listening to a Marty Robbins CD, “big gun on his hip”
It was my way to sooth the crap from the birther/deathers and just plain glen becks of the world….. My father used to listen to Marty sing in one of the west side restaurants in Phoenix. His songs were from the goodness of his heart, not the hate.
Good Morning everyone
Well finance committee starts again pretty soon. I wish someone would furnish them with cream pies.
Morning everyone. Freak show, for sure. Whatever happened with that Jane Stone/Jew Boy brouhaha? Did the right-wing org release the proof that they promised yestrday?
Is a vote on the Public Option expected today?
It is expected to take place but not to pass with Baucus, Conrad and Lincoln voting against it.
From what I’ve read the GOP swamped the early Town halls later town halls in Seattle and as Raven reports in Georgia well even there we are making a good showing.
Our voter turnout machine seems light years ahead of the GOP I mean Georgia we get a crowd. Lets see the GOP get a crowd on the South side of Chicago.
I expect the MSM hacks to totally miss the significance of this we can get crowds in their strongholds they are not even trying or can’t in ours.
Come election day what do you want to be we can muster out more people:)
Missed that one whats up?
I didn’t know that. Is that certain?
We need to muster out more people on primary day/
It is the going theory.
That is true we need to get the Blue Dogs but unless GOPers cross over to support them are not voter primaries dominated by Dem activists like us:)
Plus unless Obama ends the war or destroys the economy healthcare is going to be the biggest issue anyone will talk about.
Before I answer, let me preface this by saying my life his uber-hectic right now and I barely have time to get online so I might be missing some stuff. As I understand it, some rt-wing loon site sent a mass email and Jane Stone got one. She immediately sent an email saying “take me off your list”. The RWLS says that moments later she sent another saying “Bite me, Jew boy”. NBC got involved and said she didn’t. The RWLS says it came from her blackberry. They were asked to present proof. They said they didn’t have access to computer on the weekend but would do it Monday morn. That’s all I know.
We need to be very careful in our criticism of the teabaggers. I don’t think there’s any doubt that they’re being egged on and organized by Faux News and corporate lobbyists, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t some legitimate anger out there.
We can say that we’re fighting for their interests all we want, but if we don’t look like them, or sound like them when we say it, we lose some credibility. And I’m not speaking necessarily in a racist way, Obama may be a black man, but he’s a Harvard-educated black man who’s speech patterns are more like a white aristocrat than a man of the people.
No matter what the meaning of our words is, we come across as elitist simply by the structure of our words, by our choice of diction, by our grammar. I think we’re playing a dangerous game if we just leave the teabaggers to be manipulated by the right. The progressive movement in FDR’s day, had these people as part of their base, we need to find a way to reach them. Their anger is legitimate, just misdirected. We need to remember that and find ways to reach them in a way that isn’t condescending or pandering.
Just my $0.02 for this morning.
Thanks
He is a Black man who organized in Neighborhoods I’m nervous about going to. I harp on their racism but yes we need to help people not banks more in these tough times.
I want more job stimulus. I want reverse mortgages to keep home owners in their homes.
I agree but I’m also mystified that they are so easily manipulated by the right. The right has become so UnChristian that it astounds me that they still have religious people following them.
I still have a ball telling “tea baggers” the original tea party in boston was so that the king would NOT reduce taxes and they area being traitors to the founders
their heads explode
And it wasn’t religious people that hung the witches or slaughtered the native americans.
I normally get blank expressions from them like they don’t hear me our approaches must be different.
We can’t get the 20%ers but if we don’t address these issues the GOP will start to get Moderates.
Exactly right, Attaturk! The right wing fringe continues to speak the language of their buddies, al-Qaida. No wonder we refer to them as the ‘American Taliban’, because they truly are!
I’m just saying that the way our message is packaged is as important as what the actual content of the message is. Some of us get the most meaning out of the written word, that’s how we understand best, but others have different ways of understanding.
True no hassle intended:)
ah, but you aren’t doing it with indignation you are doing it with a point of fact type of statement
try indignation;
give them the sneer you give traitors and act appaled and discusted you are in the presence of said traitors
then give them the old;
“yet the propaganda machine gets you to act on behalf of their treason and here you are”, step back from them like you don’t want to be soiled!
or something in your words and style..give them what they brung
that’s when you’ll see the wood burning, wheels spinning
works every time
In the immortal words of Julian Bond, Dobbs “should be gagged.” I love that phrase.
Hmm Lizard Brains would react better to an emotional sign of disapproval I think you are on to something maybe you could come up with healthcare ads that will work on 20%ers?
Many are middle class or well to do.
