First of all, I made it clear MULTIPLE TIMES, that I’m NOT advocating they just let this guy go, or let everyone go until they go after everybody. It’s getting a little old when folks seem to be trying to put words in my mouth even when I was so specific in saying that was NOT what I was saying.

Secondly, I didn’t criticize the government for going after this guy. I criticized the government for NOT going after others. That’s two different criticisms. One I’m making, the other I’m not, and please stop trying to say that’s what I’m saying when I’m not.

Someone above asked why the sarcastic applause. I was trying to answer. To anyone that knows baseball, and have seen a pitcher struggle with control and throw 9 balls in a row to walk two batters; you know what happens when he finally throws a strike. The crowd usually gives a big sarcastic cheer. That doesn’t mean they’re advocating that he not throw strikes.

It’s like, great, you threw a strike, now throw ALL strikes. Same here. Great, you’re using time and taxpayer dollars to go after a 30 year old case where even the victim agrees to let it go. With that kind of committment to justice, I would suspect that same level of effort to everyone deserving of it. Otherwise, it’s just a struggling pitcher that threw one lone strike. Thus the sarcastic applause.

At least that’s how I see it. I can’t and won’t speak for BT, and as always YMMV.

Polanski was convicted. He has the means to defend himself better than the average rapist. Should he not be extradited because you think there are higher priority crimes to investigate? I understand that you are outraged but what exactly do you advocate?

Oh well, sarcistic, sarcastic, it still sucks that too many believe some men are more equal than others. I can live with myself for the inability to spell. Couldn’t stand myself if I ever caved on that principle.

Another good reason to like the Lake. Most folks here do seem to care for things like the rule of law, instead of just talking about it like the Rethugs do.

Just sayin…

I find it disgusting when local police pull out all the stops to catch and imprison burglars while simultaneously big wigs that steal millions (billions) all in the name of “business” not only escape justice, but usually get well rewarded with large parting gifts.

Again, not saying the police shouldn’t go after the burglars, just saying they should go after ALL THE BURGLERS.

But somewhere, sometime (and I’m not sure when or where) this country decided that people can do anything in the name of business or in the name of politics.

I see commercials on TV that I know would’ve been illegal 40 years ago because they’re blatant lies (EXTENZ anyone???), or swindling (reverse mortagages anyone), or worse.

My advice I guess is get a business suit and tie and business card, then you can rape and pillage all you want to.

Until we do once again become a nation of laws instead of men, then all such headlines deserve sarcistic applause, IMO.
