The Iran “problem” sure knocked healthcare off the front pages, didn’t it? Could it be that was the intention all along? Forgive me if I sound naive, but why bring up Iran’s nuclear ambitions now, when they knew Iran was building a nuclear installation–and reported it–six months ago?

I watched Pres. O’s CBC speech, and he didn’t tell what his answer was to the lady who was from abroad and didn’t understand the Hitler mustaches on his picture for trying to give the public health care like everyone in the civilized world has. It should have been ‘the corporate influence is so strong here that much of the right wing is deluded, and believes the lies that health care is just another means of controlling them… the idiots’.

When the entire UN was meeting in NY seems like a reasonable time to bring the information into play, when a vote on sanctions could be helpful to the world situation. Also, our own talks with Iran are scheduled this week, and having the knowledge of their nuclear ambitions on the table avoids a surprise that gives reason to break off those talks.

I sometimes think the politicians throw so much at us in order to confuse us. It seems they won’t allow us to concentrate on a single issue, solve it, and move on to the next.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about how the military industrial complex, the medical industrial complex, and Big Banking are so intertwined, and I came up with that. Still, it was pretty over-the-top.

The “Golden Age” of NPR occurred during Watergate. It was then when Republicans began pushing the “liberal” bias meme. They made it their goal to either “turn” NPR to their advantage or at the least neuter it. Through Republican appointments and operatives they have been successful in transforming NPR into National Propaganda Radio.

I find it worthy of sarcastic applause when you think of the time and effort to put this guy away 30 years after the fact and after the victim herself has tried to see him remain free, while no effort whatsoever is put into seeing Messieurs Bush and Cheney rot where they belong.

Not advocating that two wrongs make a right, and not advocating that they NOT put the effort into bringing him to justice, just saying that I too give it sarcastic applause when I see no effort whatsoever going towards the two biggest criminals in high office since Nixon.

Then i suppose it’s not outrageous to argue that an Oscar award winning Director be treated similarly to two famous politicians???

Just sayin…

I find it disgusting when local police pull out all the stops to catch and imprison burglars while simultaneously big wigs that steal millions (billions) all in the name of “business” not only escape justice, but usually get well rewarded with large parting gifts.

Again, not saying the police shouldn’t go after the burglars, just saying they should go after ALL THE BURGLERS.

But somewhere, sometime (and I’m not sure when or where) this country decided that people can do anything in the name of business or in the name of politics.

I see commercials on TV that I know would’ve been illegal 40 years ago because they’re blatant lies (EXTENZ anyone???), or swindling (reverse mortagages anyone), or worse.

My advice I guess is get a business suit and tie and business card, then you can rape and pillage all you want to.

Until we do once again become a nation of laws instead of men, then all such headlines deserve sarcistic applause, IMO.

YMMV.

I’m not sure who that last comment was aimed at, but since I brought up Cheney I guess it may be me.

First of all, I made it clear MULTIPLE TIMES, that I’m NOT advocating they just let this guy go, or let everyone go until they go after everybody. It’s getting a little old when folks seem to be trying to put words in my mouth even when I was so specific in saying that was NOT what I was saying.

Secondly, I didn’t criticize the government for going after this guy. I criticized the government for NOT going after others. That’s two different criticisms. One I’m making, the other I’m not, and please stop trying to say that’s what I’m saying when I’m not.

Someone above asked why the sarcastic applause. I was trying to answer. To anyone that knows baseball, and have seen a pitcher struggle with control and throw 9 balls in a row to walk two batters; you know what happens when he finally throws a strike. The crowd usually gives a big sarcastic cheer. That doesn’t mean they’re advocating that he not throw strikes.

It’s like, great, you threw a strike, now throw ALL strikes. Same here. Great, you’re using time and taxpayer dollars to go after a 30 year old case where even the victim agrees to let it go. With that kind of committment to justice, I would suspect that same level of effort to everyone deserving of it. Otherwise, it’s just a struggling pitcher that threw one lone strike. Thus the sarcastic applause.

At least that’s how I see it. I can’t and won’t speak for BT, and as always YMMV.
