I’m not sure how much of Beck’s racist tropes are indicative of any real feelings. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s a loathsome asshat who spews caustic venom, but he exudes an extreme shallowness. I don’t sense that he believes in anything other than Beck. His race baiting seems to be tossed off for effect. However, it makes it no less damaging. He seems to be exceedingly shallow and narcissistic and willing to do anything if it gets him more attention, if it means inciting racial discord, he’ll lose no sleep over it.

With his hyperbole already at psychotic levels, how does he maintain the constant need to escalate his outrageous behavior? At what point does Murdoch view Beck as a liability? Will it be before or after one of Beck’s tinfoil hat morons commits some act of violence?

Beck - and most of the FauxNews lineup - present the best argument for re-regulating broadcasters, whether they be on cable or the traditional free broadcast channels. Aside from making us look like morons to the rest of the world, this exercise in civic self immolation is damaging our country.

potato soup - overcooked mushed onions & potatoes in chicken broth, add milk or cream. If ya gotta, you can cheat w/bullion cubes.

It’s also possible to make chicken soup w/baby food.. like above.

Beats cream of wheat. But that’s not saying much.

My father died this year, in June, and I’ve been taking care of all things mother, and they were only a middle class family, but she’s got the best health care I think I’ve ever seen.

She’s on Medicare, but she has full supplemental. She has vision exams once a year, one pair of glasses once a year. Two dental exams a year. And about the only thing out of pocket she pays is for her prescriptions, and it’s about $4 for 90 days on a drug that I’d bet is $100 a month.

And her monthly premium??? Whatever Medicare Part B is. That’s it.

My father was an organizer for the UFCW, and retired from there. Unions take care of their people.

Too bad more Americans don’t feel the same way.

I still have never figured out how dental, vision, mental, and long term care over the years somehow got “excluded” from HEALTH insurance, because they are all part of one’s health.

It can be hard to sustain a faith in the good intentions of one’s fellows, can’t it?
